Was an excellent app that I used for years, but suddenly decided to stop working on my android phone no matter how many reinstalls I do. Lost myself hundreds of dollars in books.
I love this app! It has taken the tedium out of reading chess books with a standard chess board. I was tempted to give the rating four stars only because it lacks the ability to export books as pgns, but this is not really their fault as the publishers would not agree to this. I've written to Forward Chess recommending some improvements, and they responded right away. This app is wonderful, and will only get better as they add new features.
I just discovered this and I absolutely love it. It is perfect. I am devouring chess books. Download it. Buy a book, and see for yourself. I have it on my iPad, my Android phone, and my Windows PC, and split my reading amount these devices almost evenly.
The sound looking great on last update. I wish sound of capturing and check would be different like any other chess app or software. Keep working guys' app looks fabulous. And about pieces I really liked to see all sort of pieces from web or windows version on Android.
The issues I initially had with the cloud are now fixed, the team is pretty responsive, so far the app works as advertised. Appreciate the idea of presenting the books this way.
i purchase a book through android app. The book load up in the app but asked me to purchase it again when i visit the website. The problem lies with the purchase book not loading up in the website. Can you help me? I am pleased that my problem was solved. They replied to my email within one day. "FAST" Forward chess.
Sorry Ma'am/sir, I gave bad reviews when I can't see the whole pages but actually it was my mistake I forgot to see the exercises pages. This is the best app for chess books And best services I got. Thank you so much
everything is excellent, but if I rotate my phone, the text goes back to the beginning of the chapter, which can be annoying at times
I like that books are accessible from the cloud and thus can be downloaded to both Android and Apple apps. Not available in Gambit Chess Studio.
Idea is good! Need to upgrade and improvise. Can't differentiate between White and Black pieces.
I was excited to try this out, but it just gets stuck loading the store.
I can get the app on my Windows 7 computer, but it doesn't work on my Android 4.1.3 tablet...it doesn't even install!
The fact you can download the book on multiple devices you own (unlike Gambitś app that limits 1 download per purchase) makes this a 5 star app. Gambit needs to follow this example!

great way to read chess book without having board
This is the best way to study chess books. As you play through the lines in games/ problems, the program can instantly return you to the point in the game where the line began. (I can almost never remember where the pieces were at the start of a line, which was very aggravating and time consuming. ) The only shortcoming here is that not all chess books are available in this format.
