This app has been really accurate for predicting the weather and where the sun will set/rise in respect to my usual photography haunts. I love that I can also add photos from any of my previous photoshoots to the map section, and remember what the area looks like ahead of a trip. That feature alone is one that I haven't found in any other apps. There are a lot of really cool features, that are both fun to use, and extremely useful. I honestly can't recommend it enough!
Looks like a very useful app. But the main reason I subscribed is the sunrise sunset quality prediction. I never have chance to see how accurate is that, because exactly that part of the app is not working, just keep searching data. This is very annoying and that's why I'm gonna cancel my subscription before the trial is over. Just to check weather conditions I can use any other free app.
seems like a good app. just need to test it and see if it's reliable and accurate. would be interesting to find out where they get there data from update: do not trust this app. I've been using it and it's extremely inaccurate. for example. right now it's a foto score of 0 and a 19% sun set. just looked out the window and then sunset looks amazing
Amazing app. It's like a clear yet detailed summary of all the apps I use for sunrise/sunset data combined into one easy to use app. All free so far. I use sunrise/sunset-related data mostly but probably very good for other types of photography forecast too. Couldn't judge the accuracy of the forecasts so far as I only started using the app. Thanks for making it all easier!
Needs a night mode. I just installed, and chose astrophotographer when asked what kind of photographer I am. As I get into the app, I see that most of the screen is white with black text. So the first thing I do is go to the settings and choose dark colors. Only a small part of the app changes to my colors, so what's the point? If I were out shooting at night, a white screen would kill my night vision. I also happen to have a light sensitivity issue, so the white screen is painful to look at.
I was mostly interested in getting notifications about fog predictions, though it doesn't seem to exist in app. I started the premium trial to dig in more and in the 14 day forecast every day is labeled as a zero for the "fotoscore", but on the "now" tab, at 9pm, it's labeled as a "6" for a wildlife photographer, when it's pitch black out? There's a lot of cool features but ultimately they don't seem to all work well. Also what do the colored "F"s mean on the forecast tab? Who knows?
This app would be great if they were to integrate light polution & time of day into the Fotoscore. If ever in San Francisco & the Fotoscore is stating a 10 for astrophotography, then how can you rely on the score to be accurate anywhere as light polution alone cancels out the Fotoscore regardless of how clear the sky may be.
I love this app except that it keeps running in the background after being closed. And to top it off, when running in the background, it leaves a permanent notification saying "getting new data..." The only way I've found to stop it is to force stop in my phone settings.
This is an awesome app. It gives me all the information I am looking for when going out in the field to photograph landscapes. I'm hooked on the photo score. It hasn't been wrong yet and I've gotten some great shots. Thanks Fotocast for making an app that actually has so much value.
What a load of rubbish this app is! I've been checking it every day for the last two months, it's unreliable and I've never seen it give a "fotoscore" over 4! Even when it's been incredible conditions outside. Would not recommend this app, what a waste of time.
Upgraded to full version and currently in the free trial. Sunrise and sunset quality forecast does not work and this is one of the main reasonn I got this app. If it doesn't work by the time the trial is up then I will cancel my subscription
Really nice, no-nonsense app! Surprisingly accurate forecasts. Great light pollution map included. Easy to understand and use. Accurate Sun and Moon data. Very useful in planning cosmic photo sessions! I love it!
Only just installed , but I like what I see so far . On my notifications it says Fotocast is getting new data but seems to be frozen as it has been getting new data since installation !! ( 3 hours !) . If it is accurate it will be a great app and 5 stars !!! Graham ......
I am trying this app, and so far I'm impressed with it ,I have submitted a photo to the app, which was easy..only one problem is that in the UK, you can't get weather alerts, but haho its free and seems to be working fine
It constantly searching for data. It drains the battery on my phone overnight from a full charge. I'm uninstalling it because of that. I really like the app but I can't handle the battery drain.
Doesn't work. No data on home screen despite refreshing, reinstalling app. Been like it for days. Shame as concept is good and looked good when it initially worked.
These guys deserve a review simply because I use it SO often for photography. It is easy to use, gives you the basis and tips as well. I personally am veey pleased with it and find it to be exactly what I was looking for.
I really like the app, but very annoyed to have paid for premium but repeatedly still get limited to free version.... I just want to get what I paid for.
Its good, I like this app! And there's no ridiculous advertisments to ruin the user expierience/usability of this app!....... BUT! there are a few bugs! For one thing it always says "UNABLE TO LOAD SUNSET QUALITY... something or other for the "sky command".... Thingamajigy! Ive tryed updating.... Uninstall/reinstall... Ect... To no avail!
It seems okay, there looks to be many benefits to the Premium Service but I cannot find anything about the cost of it or whether it's a one-off payment? Is it a scam?, looks that way!!! Why hide the cost otherwise?
Seems good so far, just a suggestion can you put in options to choose more than just 1 type of photography cause I do landscape but I also do portraits ?
I just downloaded your app.i am a wildlife photographer.....and your app give lots of details that others do not offer. Cloud cover and lighting is key you have it! Fog.sun.overcast and stormy skies...
Tries to push 7 day trial for a subscription without stating the price. It auto renews into paid sub if you don't cancel in time.

Good app. nice info. wrong about best conditions ratings. no clouds equals bad photos? not in property photos!
It's fantastic to have 1 app that does it all instead of multiple apps. Pair this with Photopills, and everything a photographer needs is there. The upgrade is well worth the price. Also, any and questions and concerns have been promptly answered by the developer. As with most apps, it takes consistent use to become familiar with it, but it has been totally worth the time.
