Classical educators know the importance of memorizing the grammar
- the basic facts and vocabulary
- of a subject. Now you can memorize the foundational knowledge of six subjects in a fun, interactive Android application.
In Cycle 2, Classical Conversations Foundations students memorize 161 events and people in the timeline, including the U.S. presidents; 24 history sentences from medieval to modern world history; geographical features and countries of Europe and the world; 24 science questions and answers on ecology, astronomy, and physical science; multiplication tables (1 through 15), squares, roots, cubes, and basic math laws and conversions; Latin verb endings; and English grammar rules.
Medieval to modern world history is presented in an interactive application with songs and artwork designed to make memorizing enjoyable.In addition, each history sentence links to a History Highlight, and each science question links to a Science Snippet; these are helpful teaching tools for classical educators and will expand memory work in depth and breadth.
No matter your age, you can build a firm foundation of knowledge by memorizing these building blocks of education.
Classical Conversations Foundations students, ages 4 through 12, have been using these same tools in our online subscription service, CC Connected. The new Android application offers these additional features:

The app was a nice idea. Would have been a nice substitute for those that can't play a CD in the car, but it isn't. No timeline song is included which is a huge element missing & doesn't have the weekly topics as an option to play through continuously all subjects in each week, also another big element to be missing. Without those elements, the price doesn't seem worth it & it should have been listed in the description that those are missing. Please update the app to include missing elements!
We have been finding this app very useful (despite the lack of the timeline song... Seriously, you're not going to get people to buy both the app AND the CDs just by denying us the timeline song in the app, so please add it!) But there's no audio for math weeks 6&7 at least! I haven't gone through ALL of them to check, but this is a problem. Please, update the app so it will play all the information I paid for properly. Thank you.
In the age of digital technology this is the lamest app ever. We love CC but their digital platforms are basically slow moving power point presentations at best. I specifically purchased Kindle tablets for my kids for Cycle 3...and now CC doesn't even support Kindle. And the lack of the Timeline song seems ridiculous. Again not everyone has a CD player anymore. Don't waste your time purchasing this app.
I really like this app.! I cast it from my phone to the TV so all of us see it. We review every Monday the previous 7 weeks to get ready for community day on Tuesday. We have made it into a game. I let the subject question or topic play then pause it, let the kids tell me what will come next and then play it to see if we got it right. Great way to learn geography! I will DEFINITELY by adding cycle 3 for next year!
I love CC as a learning source. I wish there was a fun part of the app was more user friendly and up to date with technology. Another option that would benefit both the kids and parents is a section that allowed the kids to do smal quizzes. The kids could see how well they are doing and where they could use more study time.
As a Foundations tutor, this app was helpful for playing the Latin, Math and History songs every week in class. It would be extremely helpful if the Timeline song was included so I don't have to lug the CD player to class every week. Please include the Timeline song when you release Cycle 3!
Please add the timeline song to all the cycles apps ! It is quite inconvenient that it doesnt come with it. (yes, I am aware the timeline song is in the CD. But it is quite incovenient not to have it in the app! For 15 dollars, I expected at least this song to be in it)
No timeline song. I am a tutor this year and there are many frustrating elements with this app. If it could be updated with the timeline song, that would be amazing!
I love having the app so handy - BUT... I'm so disappointed the Timeline songs are not on here! I have the CD's - they are not portable - the app is. I hope CC rethinks this decision and adds the Timeline song to the app!
Loved having it for some ease of travel, but really needs the timeline song and other extras added. Till then not worth the money! Better off getting cd and loading it to a cloud.
I was told the app was a substitute for the CD, but the app doesn't have the timeline song on it. There is also no way to just play through songs for a week. I would rather have spent my money on the CD
please update the application asap. It is not aligned with the latest edition and can be very confusing as some sequencing are mixed up, e.g. Science Week 1/2. Thank you
does not have the Science Week 1 (order of creation) in the app so it throws off the weeks. hoping to have that fixed! I love the additional snippits and further info on history in the app! I love CC!
I bought the app for more info on the timeline events. It dosen't even have the timeline song. All this info is in the book no need for an app.
Please include the ability to retain the week selection when changing subjects. My wife has the ios version and it has this feature.
I don't know where our homeschooling would be without classical conversations! I'm getting an education with my children:-) The app makes review so easy!
Older versions included the songs but this one doesn't. That was the only reason I purchased it. Disappointing!

This application doesn't deliver the songs parents expect to practice the memory work. Do not purchase it.
I love this for homeschool! I cast it it onto my TV screen and everything is simple and ready to go.

Love it but need it updated to 5th edition asap for school.
The App will kick us out on iphone n ipad, so I end up paid twice and download on my Samsung phone, but now there's cycle 3 released? Maybe you should offer discount for new update...
It's great having the memory work at my fingertips! However, that being said I wish it had the ability to play the memory work by week.. It automatically starts playing week one everytime you switch to a new subject and I would love to be able to find all the subjects on the same week rather then having to select the subject and then select the week or skip all the way to later weeks. It's also lacking the timeline song. Disappointed and wouldn't recommend spending the money.
