FoxFi Key (supports PdaNet)

The app works perfectly, if you have the right phone to use it with. I've been using it for years with the tether feature only but recently I got a phone that can take advantage of all the features this app has to offer. In conclusion, this app does work as advertised, just not on all devices. And also prolonged use can make your phone heat up so watch out for that.

Free version 5 stars, this version not. Free version disconnects you because it's the trial version. That's cool. I liked it so I paid for the full version and it disconnects me. Major fail there guys. I will go through the customer service and we'll see what happens but so far not impressed and based on some of the latest reviews I'm seeing here, I'm not expecting much. Seems like it's more of a coding problem and what we really need is an update.

Free version interrupts connection, which is annoying. I like the idea, so I paid for the full version. Now it crashes as soon as a device connects (error 16 given). Got my refund, but I guess I need to look for another solution since the free version annoys the hell out of me and the full version won't work.

My experience with this (last two years) app has been great. I've run hundreds of gigs per month through my tablet, for my computer (Laptop). It was a little be tricky getting it connected correctly to start with. But that was most likely operator errors. (Me being in my 60's [this being my first computer] and never knowing how to use these things) PDANet+ works as advertised. And the support folks quickly answered my questions, and gave me step by step instructions on how to correct the issue.

FoxFi has been working for 2-3 years now. I only paid once which was great. There have been updates with android....and the developers have been able to keep up. However this most recent Samsung android update (2/6/2020)....FoxFi has stopped working. The FoxFi key doesn't work at all. I'm hoping the developers of the FoxFi app are working on a solution.

Had a connection for a very short time on the free version. I assumed it stopped working because I reached a data limit. However it was hard to tell since I wasn't able to find anywhere that told me what the limit was and nothing in the app told me that it stopped working because of a data limit it just stopped working. Decided to buy the full version anyway hoping that it would work, and could not get an internet connection either with the FoxFi option or the PDanet+ Wi-Fi direct connection

Edit 2: about 9 days later, support replied to my email and they were able to fix it quite easily. ISSUE IS NOW FIXED, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP. old review: I bought this a year and a half ago, been working flawlessly till today. The app refuses to verify that I purchased it even after several reinstalls. I now have to deal with the free version, which disconnects you after the free data amount has been hit. Edit: 7 days after emailing support, no response.

If you have purchased the FoxFi key from the play store, it will not work with this version. I was having the same problem with it not unlocking. I uninstalled this one, googled and found Version 4.19.7 which works with Adnroid 7.0 and above. It now works just like it used toon my s7 now on My Galaxy Note 9. Still a great app. FoxFi key app only works up to version 4.19 as far as I have seen. Hope this helps others. I have Sprint and it works great.

If you have a android and want the speed of a reg house plan this is it. I cut my cable internet, gone 110 a month gone, I can do everything just as fast, tethering or hotspot. Can stream 4k no problem amazing app that finally makes it worth the crazy amount we pay for our cell phone plans. The way I see it, I have cable internet and phone for 60 bucks. Anywhere anytime. Sure it disconnects here and there but with the savings and the speeds I've learned to look right past that. Thank you

In general, PDAnet is great. I have used it on several phones. I recently decided to pay for the FoxFi Key here to unlock the free version and have an uninterrupted connection. However, this FoxFi Key only worked two days for me. After that, it keeps acting like the free version by kicking me off my connection periodically. I sent a message at the PDAnet website for help, but have received no replies.

I emailed the Pdanet company and asked about the internet speed; how it was only going up to 4mb download speed or i guess 40mb if you do those internet speed test, they said it was because of the usb cable and it would not be able to exceed that speed. I used my usb tether without the program and i was getting up to 12mb or 120mbs. I'm curious as to if its the programming or if my usage data is being sent to the company to be sold. Sadly the wifi option doesn't work for me at all, but the tether option does work. I can't play some online games through Steam because of the internet connection though. Downloading offline games is great with the unlimited data, but I've been having a lot of other issues also due to using the program for my internet.

Paid version is still limited, you will still get disconnected every 15-20mins, I recommend just sticking with the free version or you will just be getting ripped off. I have tried restarting and waiting neither work. EDIT: Company is very responsive gave me refunded and explained why the app wasn't working for my particularly device. overall the app is really useful and I might buy it again for a different device.

Works amazing on S20 ultra unlocked. No longer throttled to 3g speeds with Hotspot. No issues for the past year and even works on my Samsung tablets when you put in the appropriate proxy for the wifi. Including my surface pro and gaming laptop. Ended up getting paid version because I'm military and my phone is most of my connection to anything. Awesome app and hope it never gets disabled by carriers. It's my data and I'll do what I want with it!

I've been using this version for about 2 weeks to connect my daughter's tablet to my phone data. It worked great until this morning. When I click to activate wifi direct hotspot, I get "activation failed code=16". I've searched the ENTIRE internet for answers on what that means and have found nothing useful. The support website gives me nothing but an option to email questions for help, which I did, and have heard nothing back. I'm really annoyed

I don't get how a company can do this, and still be in. EDIT: I originally gave this a one star review because having purchased it, I couldnt for the life of me get it to work. I emailed the company but got no response. I finally got it working. I feared just uninstalling all three programs, thinking the key might be lost, but did just that, reinstalled in order, now it works fine. I think what happened was I installed the key prior to Foxfi the first time. I give 4 stars only for lack of suppor

This app works great with no data disconnects. Other people with issues simply don't understand how the app works. Look at the app description. USB WILL WORK FOR ALL PHONES, wifi works for select phones. Why in the world you would pick wifi over USB is beyond me seeming it gives latency issues. They have other apps for wifi for other phones if yours is not listed.

I've been using this for about 2 years now, playing Overwatch on the road (I'm a truck driver) and this app worked beautifully...right up until I got an S9+. It worked on my Note 8 with no issues and then I got the S9+ and now the app doesn't work at all. I'm not sure why but nothing connects anymore

Extremely useful app. It does take some configuring sometimes, depending on what you are tethering to and/or from. & unless it is cell to cell you must install PDA net on the receiving device. AND, you must have PDA net, Foxfi, & foxfi key installed on the phone supplying the internet. I install all 3 on all my devices. Depending on device it is the USB may be the only way to connect, (may take a few tries) or the wifi may be the only way to connect. The unpaid version is not a good exampl

It's so useful to have incase you are on 5he move its perfect not to mention shielding your data use from your cellular provider...don't even need to use any Hotspot if u connect via USB. You guys are killing the game...I've had this app for almost 10 years and it's still one of the most useful in my library. 100% Facts

Hi, I own the Full Version of Foxfi but still get prompted occasionally that I reached the data limit and need to purchase the full version. I click the purchase and open buttons and it works fine again for a few weeks. Any way to fix this? I tried uninstall/reinstall. Also I get dropped every 45 minutes or so which is annoying. Any fixes to this issue?

edit: Other reviews say updating the Android OS will kill the app. I have been postponing the update so mine still works. Be careful. I use the app to connect my Chromebook to the internet while at home and it works perfectly. I have also connected my PC to my phone through the app. It requires a few extra steps to connect on the Chromebook that are a slight inconvenience but I am still very happy with the app. If WPS worked to connect with my devices it would be five stars for sure.

Wish it was better. I use a Samsung S10+ on AT&T. Loaded PDANet apk file on my laptop first then transferred it to my phone. Also paid for FoxFi in the PlayStore. I cannot stay connected via WiFi for more than two minutes. Very very very very frustrating. I am deleting and asking for a refund.

I tried the free version before purchasing the full version. It was working fine for free version but as soon as i installed the paid version i'm experiencing random disconnects. So i thought i can request refund but even that is not going through. Please help!!!

I'm giving this app a 2 star in that it does work but requires reconnection every hour and no Dev support. I tested the Direct WiFi (Pdanet) connection over a 4.5 hour drive. I found that on an hourly basis, the devices would disconnect requiring me to restart the Direct WiFi within the app in order to reestablish connection. I reported the issue to the developer with no response and now unfortunately Google Play won't offer a refund. At this point my recommendation is a "Do Not Buy"

DON'T BUY FULL VERSION, IT STILL DISCONNECT YOU. This is a good apps to share our unlimited internet quota to other users, but will suddenly disconnect every hour and we user need to manually reconnect it. Developer said if we paid for full version, we won't have this disconnecting issue. It is a big LIE.. I PAID, and now i still have the disconnecting issue. If they fix this disconnecting issue, I will change my review. If you still saw this review, means they have not fix it.

Love it! My phone doesn't have a tethering feature and all the apps I was trying to use would try to turn tethering on from my phone, this app doesn't do that if your phone was made without the ability to tether, this is the app for you. It was a little complicated to figure out at first, but once you have everything set up it's a piece of cake. And the small amount of money you pay one time for this is so worth it. This app has saved me so much money I love it! Thank you, FoxFi!

The FoxFi key is currently (fully) broken for those who have purchased a FoxFi key (for PDANet+). FoxFi no longer reconizes that the app has been paid for (a FoxFi 'key'), and PDANet+ no longer functions properly, as of the Latest Android OS update. I will raise my score when the app works again, but it is currently fully broken.

This app is a huge part of my android experience. It works to have unlimited tether from both my Verizon Lg G7 and my wifes MetroPCS Onleplus 6T. It works with our desktop(windows 10), our Surface(windows 10) my Toughbook(windows 7) two Android tablets, one on 9 and one on 8.1 and both of our Android head units, one on Android 6 and one on 8. I have ran over 400 GB through this app in a month on many ocassions, never have an issue. Only issue is with running USB tether and not having Win drivers

Hands down the best app for tethering I've used. Works well on laptops, desktops, Chromebooks. Haven't tested Mac, but I'm sure it would work there as well. Disguises your use from your carrier as well. Well worth the pro edition as well.
