It's a super fun game with LOTS of potential. I do wish there was more maps. You can make your own which is awesome but it takes a while for a good map. And if your like me you would rather just get a map and not build. My only suggestion is more maps, or even being able to download other peoples maps. Edit: my bando one is super glitched. The building is pitch black and so is the ground. I have deleted it and re installed. Hope to see a fix. Edit: it's fixed!
Perfect trainer without the rebuild costs. I am fairly new to quads but only fly in stability mode at present. I want to learn acro and this is the perfect tool. It allows you to set rates if you like cinewoop flying or all out racing style. Yes it's a simulator and a good one at that. After purchasing this I went straight to their website to purchase the mac version. (windows available) this is well worth the purchase as it allows you to connect your transmitter 5 star devs!!
Fantastic Sim it seems like. I'm VERRRY new to FVP drones and have been having trouble getting the hang of things. My cheap $100 NewBeeDrone has taken a beating in the process until I found this app. Excellent way to learn drone flight without destroying your equipment. My only desire would be larger scale maps and perhaps some more customization of the settings. Works flawlessly on my device, though, and the map editor is a very cool touch.
A well known fpv simulator in computer, now in your phone. This is the best simulator I've tried in my phone so far and the graphics were superb! I haven't flown my tiny whoop yet so I couldn't know if this game is very accurate to the real world, but overall worth the money! One suggestion is to make the game less laggy while maintaining the quality and the graphics of the game, the leaf movements of the trees are fascinating but I think it is not necessary as it also lags the game.
Great simulator. Really good to train you brain flying FPV on the go if you use, for instance, an usb tethered frsky radio. The main issue is that it should simulate the FOV of the typical fatsharks goggles, with an FOV of around 40ΒΊ, but it works full screen with cardboard, so you get major motion sicknesses and is not playable... Please reduce the images to a smaller rectangle when using cardboard and it will be the best on the go FPV sim. Thank you
Didn't take long to decide to purchase this, after playing with the free version, I was impressed, now I've got the paid version, everything is so much more visually appealing and physically accurate. Now I don't have to worry about trashing my real drone, just practicing without stress. Fantastic performance on my Samsung Tab 6. Keep up the good work devs.
Works great! Levels could be a bit more diverse. What would be really helpful is if you could assign buttons of your controller for record for example. But for the price a really good tool for me to practice for real life fpv, thank you!
The best sim is the one you always have with you! I love it!!! Physics are totally good enough to learn acro. What I'd like to see in this sim: Centralized place for sharing custom made tracks. Beginner exercises and drills like hover, coordinated turns, breaks etc and a set of very basic training maps to practice these drills. PID tunig and betaflight simulation. Access to PC versions if bought on playstore and vice versa. I'd totally pay more to have these feaures!
I have DJI's FPV Drone & I wanted a SIM to practice on. I want to use my controller, but couldn't change the controller settings in game to the proper mode like I use when actually flying it. If there's a way to change it, I couldn't see it. I'd buy the app again if there is a way, (I just couldn't find it).
The original FPV Freerider is simply best FPV mobile simulator. This expands the maps, and lets me have more fun while on the go. Initially the app kept crashing, but with advice from the developer to clear cache/data and reinstall,it worked. With that said you do need a powerful phone to run this as its more detailed. Recommend to run it in low resolution mode for lower end phones
Does not interface with dji's fpv controller or even an Xbox controller. Touch screen controls don't do me any good unfortunately. Wasted my money big time looks like. Update, tried again after developer contact. Forced to think its a compatibility issue on the s21 ultra as the app on the pc via steam works perfectly. Still zero luck on Phone app
I want to like this game but it is buggy on android. If i play a map and then leave, the control sticks disappear and i can't do anything when i try either the same or other maps. Also the rate sliders are a joke, i cannot get the correct rates i want because that slider is waaaaaay too sensitive! Just let us type in our numbers please!! I will consider a refund otherwise. Wish it worked out like it has for others :/ EDIT: i bought this intending to use screen touch controls. Its stuck on usb
That time of the year again..good flying days are few and far between. FPV Freerider is my go-to portable sim great for those quick "fixes" π (you will never get a "real feel" or accuracy on a touchscreen but it's probably as close as you can get). Now we have the Recharge Version for Android and it's even better - I have been playing it on my S6 Tab with my stadia controller and it's amazing ππ ps I am not affiliated in any way with the developer just a huge fan of the Freerider Series
Works perfectly with DJI FPV controller v2 that came with DJI FPV drone on my Galaxy Note 8 with an USB OTG adapter plugged in to the phone, but does NOT work with straight usb-c to usb-c cable. Great way to practice with lots of customizable options. It's also the only way to practice on Android since the DJI sim is iOS only, but this one looks more realistic anyway. This app unfortunately does not interface with the goggles - onscreen only. Calibration is quick and easy. Decent physics.
Update: I didn't realize that FPV drones don't hover and that's more for photography drones which is what I was trying to practice. That was my only knock on this app. I'll check it out when I get into FPV. Inititial review: Out of the box the drone can't just hover. You adjust the trims and its either to much or to little to get it to hover. Finding that sweet spot where you can have both hands off the sticks to hover in place just doesn't seem to exist or is too time consuming to figure out.
This sim is fire as he'll... Especially considering its next to nothing to purchase and it's on a cellphone. I bought a cheap pair of Vr goggles you slide your phone into and get a pretty decent fpv experience. Perfect for rainy days or those late night rips when you just don't feel like leaving the house... Only complaint is the stock maps are a little small.. But it's understandable.. Besides there are several player designed maps out there to download and play.. Waiting on fpv free rider 3
It's good, I'm missing: - more camera views and Telemetry like horitzontal line, altitude or speed. - When you crash doing a race, auto start race it's nice feature, but I would ask to also add keep enable Play ghost. - Also ghost record could be nice to have meanwhile you play previous ghost. - And ghost should keep best race time. Then would be a 10/10
Runs perfectly at max settings on my note9. New maps are great, graphics fooled my friends (they thought I was streaming from a pc), and setup couldn't be easier. The last thing this sim could use is data entry boxes instead of sliders for rates - it'd be pretty much perfect after that.
In VR mode NON-stereoscopic, there's so much frame drops. I guess it re-renders the frames instead of simply duplicating it to the other side. The frame drops should only be present on stereoscopic VR mode but it has the exact same performance on non-stereo making me conclude this. Please do something. Thanks.
Great app, but my transmitter seems to very rapidly drain my phone's battery, very suddenly dropping to zero once the transmitter is unplugged... No idea why. No fault of the app at all, but worth mentioning if you have a jumper t16 or your transmitter supports charging through the cable.
Just as amazing as the original. Controls and physics feel exactly the same (old custom settings still feel good). Awesome set of maps and finally a map editor π€π. The first sim I always recommend to those getting into the hobby. Now what do I gotta do to be an offical freerider team Pilotπ€
I love this simulator but one problem is when you're flying and you barely touch an object you fall to the ground. Could you possibly make it where when flying that you don't fall to the ground after barely touching a branch a wall something real drones in real life don't fall to the ground when you touch a wall.. Right now the only problem with having is loading press a track and it just loads and never loads even set to the lowest resolution could you possibly tell me what I'm doing wrong
Ok....I'm new to fpv and have looked for a smartphone sim and BAM!!!! This is an AMAZING APP!!!! works excellent with my radiomaster tx12 and to be able to create your own tracks and "bandos" is just incredible I absolutely think this is the best fpv phone app!!!!! It will help you become better at flying NO DOUBT!!!!!! my only regret it that I wish I would've found this app before I snapped an arm on my quad lol I had the free version and getting the upgraded version was a major plus! πβ
Great simulator, i bought the original more than a year ago and now that one, awesome simulator and levels, loved especially the editor. I wish you add the option to import levels and open source the level editor, i can make a beutiful marketace for share levels. It would be amazing to see what people do there.
I would love to play this sim, but it disables auto rotate on my fold 2 so it plays upside down. It recognized the USB controller fine though. Game also doesn't fit the fold aspect ratio so 15-20% of the screen wasn't visible. A shame because I really wanted to mess with this before going all in on an fpv drone.
Old ones better nothing new in this one I have all of them and I dont see a recharge in this one all they did was add diff maps which could be built in the 1st ones map editor complete waste of money if I could get a refund I deff would and just stick with the 1st freerider if you want diff maps this is ok but if you have the old one it's not worth the so called upgrade...
I really enjoy this simulator. The dynamics are accurate and it flys like the real deal. Im sure ive saved thousands in crashes on here instead of real quads. It would be cool to be able to choose different quads, tiny whoops, and whatnot, but thats not a complaint that we cant.
Missing one thing. Unlike classic freerider I cant invert my controls. Game runs great otherwise but I dont want to change my habits to play on my phone. Hope this will be in an update. Edit: ah you're right. I believe I was making my controller invert the controls on classic.
Can't mix yaw and roll. Defaults are horrible and basic levels are extremely limited. *edit in response to developer response* I don't mean custom mixes. I mean inputting yaw on the left (mode 2) 'gimbal' and roll on the right... The inputs do not combine.
Great simulator! Starting as someone who had never flown before this has been exactly what i was looking for. It is challenging, but that is the point! There is lots of adjustment to set rates, camera angle and FOV so you can see what you like or push them to learn to fly new rates. The level editor is amazing, you can build almost anything you want to fly around. It takes sometime to create a good level but if you have the time the tools are there. Some other great levels are also available.
