Frame Player

Frame Player is an advanced video player that let you see a recorded video at several playback speeds maintaining audio synchronization, play frame-by-frame, zoom-in any part of the video, and save frames as images to the device storage. Just select a video from gallery or record a new one from the App, and press the “Start” button to open the player. You can enable a brief tutorial about the player controls, and disable it when you want.

Frame Player automatically calculates video framerate (frames displayed per second) for the frame-by-frame playback. If you consider this calc is wrong and you know the right value, you can set it manually.

Known issues: running over low-end devices with Android Lollipop, slow and fast motion may not play smoothly.

This app could do with two things: one, some acceleration of some sort (be that hardware or software; preferably hardware), as it has a hard time moving between frames in 4K MKVs, and two; the ability to use a proper file explorer instead of a photos app. Having said that, this app manages to do what the leading app developers couldn't provide for years. For that, I give kudos to the developer(s).

Great app. Works great. Would give it 5 stars if i didnt lose play / frame controls by not touching them for a few seconds. When they disappear from the screen i have to reload the video. Would also be good to be able to default to gallery for selecting videos. Also I had problems sharing the captured frame. Best app of it's kind that I can find. Thanks

Not the best but better than most. No skip forward or backwards buttons in 5 second increments. Can't type in a minute second or second time to adjust the progress bar. That would definitely bring this app to 5 stars. Lots of frustration and tedious work trying to use this app. To get to perform exactly the way you want it in grabbing video frames at certain time part in a video.

Does the job. With the controls disappearing if you run the video for 5sec - there are 3 things you can do to bring it back up again (until the developer applies a fix) 1. Touch your screen in the black area outside the actual video. 2. While the video is playing hold your finger on the pause button. 3. Press your phone's recents button and reselect this app. Cheers!

Love the idea, but the execution is lacking. The frame by frame and slow advance are brilliant, but save frame does not work, it doesn't save. So I have to resort to taking a screen shot and cropping it. And sometimes the resolution isn't as high as the frame I was trying to save. Please fix.

The best video player with the frame advance for Android! Frame forward and frame backwards work fine, zoom control is fluent and pan control is also great. The UI is a bit weird, though: - Ugly first page to select video instead of just displaying all videos the device has. - After starting video playback, touching the video doesn't show/hide the UI, instead it does nothing. I guess touching is intented for panning but if I just touch the screen without dragging, take it as a hint to show/hide controls. - Touching the black area next to video shows/hides the UI. - The app only uses the original video area for zoom. If I view a widescreen video on portrait mode and zoom, I'd expect whole screen to be used. - The screen capture key is disabled when video is playing. How about making it to automatically pause + screen capture in that case? - The seek bar doesn't refresh the video until I release it. The video should refresh during seeking at least a couple of times a second.

The best one for what i needed, but... It has 3 major problems, go from one frame to the next is VERY slow, does not support dts audio and the browsing files interface is painfully confusing and impractical. I'll explain further, to browse a video you have tap in the folder icon, and then 3 options will show, camera, gallery and photos, but the last one has the Google photos icon, however it only shows videos so is the video folder, and the gallery option will only show photos... Is confusing

Annoying. Have to confirm every frame I want save. Once I press the capture button. It should automatically save to gallery. Not me confirming every single image. Needs 5 seconds and 1 second skip forward and backwards buttons. Hard navigating to the exact time spot.

Erratic performance. The supposed frame advance button moves the video but not seemingly at the frame rate. This is disguised by a timer with a one second resolution. Not good.

Frame by frame works perfectly, but it Doesn't save. I trusted it was saving when it said it did and wasted a lot of time. You can take screenshots, I wish I had.

Fairly basic. Accurate/precise frame seeking +++time consuming- videos ≥10mins+ gradually worsening. Additions to consider incl. gesture controls eg: ▪️ Double tap ⏯️ ▪️ Swipe right to ⏭️ frame ▪️ Swipe left to ⏮️ frame [VLC player is excellent example of playback gesture controls]] Suggestions: 🆙 image:screen ratio (shrink/minimise/hide "Capture" field), dragable variable scroll speed & paused video to remain ⏸️ when scrollbar dropped. Thx, I apprec. app 🆓 Best wishes.

I absolutely loved this app and have been using it for years. However, I upgraded to a Note 20 and my videos and frame pictures look very weird. They're fine in the gallery but not in the app. My old phones took great pics with your app! What gives?

would be 5 star if the controls didn't disappear after a few seconds or if you could easily get the controls back. pretty frustrating.

Well, at least you have manual movement of the frame so the wanted frame can be accurately captured, while other apps doesn't have at all.

Hhh that's really unbelievable. It's just what i need. It even has a frame backward button. Now i can breakdown complex animations and see how they were done. I used to do so on vlc windows. But I always wanyed something in Android. Thanks so mich for this amazing app.

Description says they fixed screenshots not saving. Mine still aren't saving at all, not to mention that the player is extremely laggy in frame by frame play.

once the bottom menu disapear (at landscape mode), you cannot show it again. only to change to portrait and then to landscape again.

On note 9 running 8.1, to see videos, one must select Albums in Gallery. Needs settings option. Needs a pay to remove ads option. Otherwise works well.

Can't believe how hard it was to find a frame by frame player that wasn't full of IAPs and other junk. VLC and MX supports it on desktop but not mobile! Thank you, dev!

Can't select a video on my Note 8, just shows me jpg files in any folder I select. Would like to try it out but can't get past this problem!

I found it best app for slow motions and its a good tool to find out what actually happened🤪... The zooming feature is amazing.

Jo. C. Sep 25, 2019

Frame by frame working perfectly and one of the rare app that allows you to manually zoom and scroll on the frames.

Rob. K. Sep 24, 2018

When using Oneplus photos-app, only images are displayed. Google photos can only select videos a couple days backwards for some reason..

Analyses dash cam footage precisely and fast. Allows zoom on fix frame and save to still image.

Gre. R. May 29, 2019

Has good functions. Only if it would stop freezing and the buttons would stop disappearing

Hello, thanks! Been looking for manual frame to frame player.. Galaxy note 3 is the latest with this feature.. Tk u Dev.!

Ade. A. Apr 9, 2021

Just what i needed. However it will be much better if the number of frames in video can be included.
