Free Books - Listen & Read

Quibbles aside, this is a wonderful app. It works smoothly on my Android, offers the gamut of public literature, allows you to mark text and configure font, and seems to download the text so you can read offline. The only ads are closable statics when you open texts, and the scroll-based reading "sticks" on the current chapter to mark your place and prevent over-scrolling. The downsides: the "night" mode is a poorly implemented afterthought, and there is no apparent way to sort your library.

I love to read books, especially ones you no longer find in print or even in the library, since they rotate and dispose of older books. These type of apps are becoming the only way to experience what wonderful story telling is, and they must be read,not listened to or watched on t.v. because reading it puts you in the place of the main character making it a unique experience in your mind. Also,you can watch a movie and your interaction is minimal because your on the outside looking .

Good that it's free, but... I can only search books by popular, new releases and by genre, either way, one has to scroll endlessly to look for a title that one may wish to read. I will only give 5 stars once developer implements search option in the app. I'm not going to waste my time scrolling through the list of books searching for a title to read...

The ads are in your face. Crazy how suddenly an error occurred while I was searching for a cetain book. And even crazier how after having these problems literally a minute after I installed the app I was asked to give a review of the app.....BEFORE I've had a chance to even start a book. Why would I rate something I haven't got a chance to use.......

I love the app slot. It's only classics tho u listened to a lot of homer and really like it very much how they have everything in order and the same as the original translation . Tho I really do wish the voice actors were a little little bit better They seem a little bit boarded many it's just in the books I read but it doesn't give you the same experience as say and audible book .so everyoncebin a while I find myself trailing off as where i would been listening if there voices changed a lil

Un-usable. I've never been thrown in so many directions by ads as to make an app impossible to navigate! Every choice caused a re-direct by ads, and every attempt to return brought another ad re-direct until I was so buried that I was forced to close the app.

I enjoy reading on this app. But it keeps skipping pages and I don't know why and that leads to the losing my page and have to go back to a point that I remember that I have already read recently. It's really unfortunate because it happens just as I'm begging to get engaged in the story.

This app has two major problems. First is the constant ad for Audible. Second is the selection is limited to very old books, and there are not any good books. To devs I recommend getting titles like The Evil Queen, by Gena Sholwater, The Dark Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon, Lux series by Jennifer L Armentrout.

I tried to open this app and the first thing that comes is that there is a problem in the server. Ok finee. I try to open this app and close and open and close again. It opens. I search for a book and it doesn't even have any. I spot a book that i own. I open it and check the story. I realize that this content is totally different than the actual one. Like Wha-?

I would like more 20th century books and fewer ads from audio books. They say thst thete are thousands of books, but I haven't seen that. I'm mot a great tech person, but my downliafs aren't in my 'library', so for me it's s bit disappointing, ' though I'm glad to have books.

Im not saying the app isnt doing what the title states, but mabe add some new books, and not to be THAT person but there is a few too many ads at a time maby try to program the app where theres an ad every 5-10 minutes. Just my opinion, btw clssics are my life, I just saying find something... newer like mabe some John Steinback!

It's a bit ad-heavy, but I love the app itself and I think it's a great resource for anyone who wants to read classic books. If there was a paid version to get rid of the ads, I'd pay for it.

Wonderful Selection of classics. While I'm personally not a huge fan of trying to read books on a phone, this app makes for a treasure trove of good reads to pick up.

No laptop compatibility. i like to read E-books on my chrome book but with this app the only visible screen is a small sliver in the centre pasted over a wider tab. highly disappointed.

App was wonderful in past. Last few wks, not so much. Books wont open after reading part of them. Idk if they did an update and messed things up or somethng else is wrong. Disappointing.

Audio books are NOT free. It's a 30 day trial, then $14.95 a month. Uninstalling since audiobooks aren't actually free. Very misleading title of this app.

It has a wide variety of books and audiobooks. The books I wanted to read were all on there. This app is very good for just relaxing and chilling at home or on the go.

This app is teribal it has adds every 19 seconds (I counted) evry time you search it tells you there is an error. I would not recommend this for any parents who are looking for free books for kids, this app has no good books and is terrible.

The selection of books are bad. Most of these are titles and authors I've never heard of and there are TONS of ads. I guess a good book doesn't ever come for free.

It was easy to find an author whose work I have enjoyed. To have these books in my phone makes waiting for an appointment a breeze and without the weight of a printed book...even though I may have the actual book on my shelf at home.

Great classic book options however, greatest pet peeves, it does not bookmark or save where you ended off reading. I have to begin at the chapter I ended in. Very annoying.

I love the book selection, but the amount of ads is insane. I'd rather pay like, $2 a month and be ad free.

This app is fantastic it has classics and Genras that you can choose from the books are soo good not to mention every single e book and audio book is free the only thing for me is the ads but that is minor in my opinion so 5 stars for this app. Reccomended 100%

I like the app,but to many damn adds.another thing is sometimes the pages skip from what I'm reading to the very next chapter. PLEASE ! fix.other than that the app is good

i dont know why people are so impressed with this app because honeslty theres to many adds and i wanted to listed to a book but i ended up reading it because no words where even spoken so i do not recommend this app unless you like adds and reading by yourself, to be honest i hate it and its bad for kids with disabilities because when you ask to read a book it takes up half the time reading what the books called and the sound dosnt wok even if you put it on 100% volume anyways lets go

This app have many books and all of them of are free to read. Actually my favourite author is Agatha Christie difficult to find books of Agatha Christie on Google and other websites. But this app make it to easy to find books of all author that I wanted from years. I Really Love this App 💗💖💝💓💜

It's a great app, if your beginning to read more. You stumble across many great books and a variety or selections, recommend most definitely!:)
