Freecampsites.net is your primary source for information on free campgrounds and boondocking locations.
Free camping locations are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. They are also a well kept secret and can be difficult to locate. Thankfully you have this app to help you find them. It provides a simple, map-based search engine for free and cheap camping spots, many with pictures and reviews. It is also a platform for sharing locations you have discovered with others.
We know that this app will help others who are on the road and looking for free campsites or free campgrounds. We are community driven and, while we will be adding many free camping sites, we hope that the users who find the site useful will add some of their favorite camping places as well.
Wild Campsites
The main focus of the site will be public lands. We especially like camping in Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA’s (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. Hopefully, you enjoy the same style of camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we’ll all have much more to choose from.
Free Camping For Everyone
All campsites listed on this website should be vehicle accessible. All campsites on this website should be free or $12/night or less for everyone. No camping location listed here should require you to be of a certain age, occupation, or a member of a group. If there is a fee that matches our criteria, that fee is the same for everyone.
Overnight Parking
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops and other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these; there are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a user finds one of these locations to be useful and submits a retail parking lot, we may approve the post as a member of the community has taken the time to create the entry.

This app is "twitchy". Zooms in and out unexpectedly. Keeps asking if I want to search an area or add route. I really dont want either. But I chose both at different times. And map zooms out even though there are campgrounds indicated there. This app needs a lot of fixing
Too slow, this link to a browser window is rediculas, just make an app or don't. The web page it takes you to has a add this to home page button so this non app is useless. The page it takes you to is painfully slow, 30 minutes or more after you push the filter button, if you touch the map it closes the page. Not a recommended non app
This is a great website that I have used all over the West to find remote and free campsites. It has been invaluable to me. The app has taken me to unbelievably beautiful places to camp for free in complete isolation. fully recommend. Will not camp without It! Bravo!
Love this! Need to read the descriptions and reviews. Also take the grid and plot it in your Google maps GPS I have been using their website since 2017 and have been able to find some really awesome campsites along with some pretty sketchy ones but made for some fun time!
Like the convenience of one button to get to the page. Should try to make it easier to put a free campsite on the page but keep up the good work very, very useful!!
Hangs up on my Samsung Galaxy S9 more times than not. In the East there are few free sites which have positive reviews. The west is a different situation where there is BLM land.
Best free app i've found that tells me the areas i know are available are there. Some of the other apps didn't list the sites i know of, and i don't know many, so if i know but you don't, you're not helping.
This app has not been updated in years. If it wasn't for the reviews, this app would not be useful but thanks to the customers and google maps, i was able to get enough information for my trip.
Terrible. It's only a link to the mobile site which is really bad anyway. The map is poor quality and hard to use. Should not even be in the Google app store.
Was looking for more of overnight stays while traveling to a destination. This is for people looking to camp at sites. Plus i really dont see any new post, most current post is from 2019.
Bizarro. This isn't an app, but a link to a webpage. A blank webpage. If something was supposed to load, it didn't..... even after I tried manually reloading it.
Please read ALL the reviews before you download this app!!! It's not an app, it just a link to a website that doesn't even get updated, the reviews are mostly old . Doesn't work most of the time and the sites admin has a terrible attitude, I don't recommend installing this app at all, it's usually more trouble that it's worth and they don't seem to be interested in fixing it, the admin basically called me a liar but, other reviews for the same problem.
Have used it frequently to identify options. We always call ahead to verify info is accurate. Probably used it at least a dozen times.
Very good app and I use it when traveling. I love this app. But I need the storage when not on the road in June thru august. I will re install this app in May or June ...for as long as it is available.
The absolute best app icon of all time! i wish they would make a better app but they haven't done anything in 4 years.
dude i love you guys, but this isnt even an app let alone a "mirror image" of the site....its just a link to the site that opens in my browser! very disappointed.
Needs an update. Built for an older version of Android it would not work on my new Samsung phone.
This is not an app. It just takes you to their website. And the website isn't even a web app, it just opens in Chrome!

Never been updated. Newer versions of Android OS do not function well with this.

Very informative app tells you where every campsite that's registered is how much it cost how many days you can stay all the information you need for camping is in this app
Worked once. Doesn't open now. Uses browser so not really an app.
it just opens a webpage in your default browser.. i dont need an app for that.
I left a review, which took a week to be accepted, then tried to add a revision because of all the flies, but it wouldn't let me do it, it then, to me is useless and a liar of facts
couldn't find the sites I sent to. App listhings seem old and no longer there.
it could bring you to some unbelievable places! I've used this for app for 2 years while traveling on the road , and id say about 95% of the time this app came in clutch. needs service or wifi to look up campsites. shows free, and paid campsites. really awesome idea! will never travel without it. really.
