The app is great and all but when you open it and search for a book to download, an ad shows up and even occurs when scrolling down to see further options. It's become a huge pain.
I love books, and this is an app that brings books to me. Sometimes it goes beyond my expectations. I have collected more than 500 good ebooks through this wonderful app. I tried others, and the conclusion I had is that this is by far the best downloader.
I love that I can find, browse and read free books. The topics are broad and applicable to most. The only down-side is that there are no page numbers and I find it hard to continue where I left off and have to scroll through all the chapters, until I find where I left off previously.
This app is absolutely amazing. I can find almost all the books I need in it. It has a pretty big library and it also provides meanings of the words when I tap it for long. It also has highlighters of different colours. There are a few problems that sometimes the book is not available or it is corrupted and that ads pop up every minute. I requested a book and they added it in just two days.
I love this app. I'm totally okay with the ads as the books are provided for free. But, recently the reading interface has been changed. What I loved the most about this app was its reading interface (chapter wise page turning & vertical scroll for each chapter). I don't really like the new interface allowing either vertical/horizontal view only. Please see if you can get back to previous UI while still adding the new features like highlights & bookmarks at the same time. Good Luck !
This is the best of book downloaded apps. It has almost every single book that I know. But There is one flaw. I tried downloading a series, but what was that it first said running, then it said incomplete and the progress bar stopped there. I didn't meddle with the pause button but it happened automatically. Then, I just wish you could add all the books in the series Redwall. It already has over 15 books but in jumbled order. I have only one thing to say now. Awesome!!!!
App works great, I would recommend. However the ads are a bit over the top. Every 5 to 10 second an add pops up. You should improve the search function by having the keyboard automatically pop up after hitting the search function. Also make the enter button search, we don't need a return in the search line. Would rate it higher if the ads were more reasonable
Loud ads interrupt in mid-read; some won't shut off. Far too easy to accidentally return to the starting point with NO WAY to get back except to go through again: VERY annoying when it's 30, 40 or more pages -- & I'm still talking about getting through the offerings alone, never mind the barrage of ads later on. Decent selection of free titles but no way (how ABSURD) to enter a title or author's name & get more than a single entry. No one wants to spend, literally, HOURS looking through all.
I love the initiative of the app but there are a few improvements that need to be made. The UI should improve along with the search function. The number of ads should be reduced and the absolutely most important thing that needs improvement is the downloader itself. The downloader is very basic and buggy. Improve the UI and the downloader and keep updating the database and this app is a diamond in the rough!
Awesome app!! I love everything abt it, super convenient to use, just one problem. Way too many ads. Thats the only problem. I mean, i cant even click on one book withoit an ad popping up. It was fine for some time, teh ads didnt show up much, im used to ads, but then they started coming and coming, and i just had to tell you abt it. Other than that, teh app is AMAZING
Not good. I'd love to talk about quality and stuff, but I couldn't even find a book because of all the ads. I'd search something, and an ad would interrupt, and when it's over, and I go back to the app, it deleted my search so I have to search again, and the whole process repeats. The ads keep you from using the app itself, and they always freeze my phone. I'm uninstalling. Don't waste your time on this garbage app.
Rated it higher previously. The new rating is a result of the search function's becoming increasingly worthless. Entering an author's name (one whose book, or books, I had previously downloaded) yields NO results. How is that possible? And the full-page pop-up ads: disgraceful! Charge a few bucks for a version with no ads; I'd gladly pay. So, for now, 2 issues to work on. Get on it! Btw, I always update to the newest version; same junk as before.
Great little free app for those looking for an AnyBooks alternative. Good selection of books - picked up 2 that I was halfway thru before and can finish now. I haven't found the ads bothersome considering they're only a second long and help support an important free resource. Would appreciate a 'tap to flip page' functionality instead of the scrolling. Swiping seems to jump to chapters rather than the next page.
It's a very good app... Every single thing u need while reading a book, is there in the app( dictionary, highlighters with different colors, everything) Even u can download the books n can read that offline too... Bt I have a problem... While reading, the last line of a page is getting covered by the ads. Ads will come in a free subscription I know but if so then please try that besides the ads, the last line of a page don't get covered... Please fix this problem in later version...
Its a good app, but there is a big problem in downloading. When we download some files, it automatically stops, no issuse of mobile net or wifi net. same issue in small or big file. Also when returing back to a previous window, it takes to the top of the list, not to the last position where we was. I have seen you guys have no reply to this type of complaints previously done by others, that's negative. Please rectify these issuses. Thank a lot.
I've no reason to complain about this app it's awesome. Could use some feature that shows as you type some predictive text from an index of books in general irrespective of whether it's on the database or not. And now I can't comment on my rating. Let's aAlso add a feature that allows a user to be able to see, edit and comment/respond to their ratings. I will write to the email address sent to me as well thanks for a timeous reply.
I am very happy with this app. Saved me from buying a book online for a significant price. Also, saved me from going to our local bookstore, of which by the way, the book that I'm looking for is not available for quite sometime. Requested the book from this app and viola it's there after 1 day. Adds are kinda annoying though as they keep on popping like every minute, but totally understandable.
Extremely non user friendly. I mean I've heard that this app has a huge collection of books but for some reason I can NEVER find anything nor change any settings. Help me or something. I'm getting so tired now. :'( Edit: The new ad system is the absolute worst. I mean I get it that you need to earn money. But every 2 seconds? Totally done with this app now.
I wish I could give -stars, uninstalling. this app is a HUGE waste of time I have sent emails w/pics, DEV keeps asking ?s already answered. SUPER frustrating ->>Most the books state a certain size but when downloading states 'fail' OR 'completes' at 00mb! yeah, figure that one out! 8/10 do this, I will change my rating/reinstall when there's an update/email with solutions to ACTUALLY fix the problem!!! I HAVE sent screenshots but you won't respond
Well, i was trying to download an e book called Introduction to Animal Physiology by Eckert. The total size of the file is 94 Mb, once it reaches 94 Mb, it restarts. I don't know why but you guys have to fix this issue up. I have downloaded another book too, it worked fine. I think the downloads don't run in the background, you have to keep an eye on the screen watching the download creeping. Incase you swap apps it restarts. Am giving you guys a 5 star despite all this. Am giving you 5 star
This App has so many books going back centuries. Art education from the masters, it's brilliant. The one annoying aspect is that at present time it freezes in ads and you have to close the App to get past that hitch. This didn't happen on Samsung Galaxy note 8 but does continuously on Sony Xperia X. (needed lighter phone for shoulder injury!).. 🙄
Can't believe this app is still around. It's practically unusable. The sheer number of ads is ridiculous. They say there are fewer ads but in reality there's more. Can't even do a simple search because ads keep interrupting everything you do. Devs keep replying with vague answers. Avoid this ad infested "app" at all cost. Would've give it a zero rating if it were possible.
Im sad. What happened to ur app after I updated it? Many ads contnue to pop up and i cannot download anymore. The best app i ever had but not anymore. :'(
Downloaded this app since it was highly recommended on quora as an alternative to anybooks. Now, I understand it's a free app and will obviously have ads but really... I couldn't even finish searching for a book before being bombarded by ads every two second....can't really comment on the books because didn't reach that stage at all.
I simply L O V E this app ♥️ but it should have all the parts of all the books. I was reading Geronimo Stilton, I couldn't find all the parts. There were 10-15 parts. Enough for only 3 months. You should add a feature of bookmarks too. Also please decrease the number of ads shown in it. It shows many ads. Thank-you
Four stars for effort, recommend concentrating on finding and downloading books. would like to be able to set format of book that I prefer in settings. Would like to be able to setup reading apps for each format from reading apps already installed. Edit: to correct miss spellings. Also disregard last statement, found I had not installed my favorite epub app in new device. changing rating to four stars. I will send email with more detail.
I really like this app a lot, it has a wide range of e-books to download especially in Architecture, but there seems to be a problem in downloading the e-books, I'm unable to download the books under the architecture topic, they keep showing failed no matter how many times I restart my app. And, the app has a limit of downloading 5 books at a single use of the app and I have to restart the app again to download more. I hope you guys rectify these issues and make the app user friendly.
Updated review 5/4/2022: This is a great app. I enjoy reading books using this app. It's great that I can read books offline too. I always find the books that I search for. It has a highlighter which is useful to bookmark the page and to get back to it later. Wish there are more bigger fonts though. Would be even great. All the very best to the developer.
