Great app! Simple easy interface, many instrument presets, a lot of customisable settings. Small download size/phone memory space and NO ADS!! I have had trouble tuning in a noisy environment, but that's understandable. I've tried several others, but i will stick with this app. Thanks Dmitry!

Very very very nice!!!! Super surprised at all the settings even 432.. Wow.. Installed easily no problems on my 4 year old android phone. Works great, I love the alternative tuneing's built in such as 8,7, string guitars, mandolin, drop d etc etc etc etc. It has worked Flawlessly.. I love it!! I've used 5 others. This is the best Deleted the others this is great!! And it's free. The others came back and needed money to continue after a while. I hate that So far this is the best one I've found.

Really appreciate the tuner app. Please add realistic instrument sounds, such as piano, guitar, and violin. It would be very useful in the universal tuner page with the piano keyboard, if the app would generate realistic piano tones, with sustain. Thank you!

Love this! We always have our phones with us, where ever we go.... and you never know when you might need to tune a guitar, or ukulele, or banjo! Works great, and easy to use.. Thanks for such an awesome app.

This is THE tuner app. As the name asserts, it's free, and it's universal. But wait, there's more! This app is as free as as it can be. No ads, AND it understandably asks for only one permission; to access the microphone. Finally, with a simple and intuitive interface, its ease of use is second to none. There is no room for improvement. It is perfect. Many thanks to you for your generosity.

This many tuning options and compared to other tuning apps, this one is accurate. Great job guys.

I like the way it shows the tuning for a string (which you can tap to hear), then, when you play it on your instrument, it shows the note actually played with an arrow pointing out whether to tune the string up or down to get where you need to go. Then, when you get the string in tune, there's a simple and gratifying sound and green check mark which lets you know you've done it. No guessing if you've hit the mark. It then automatically moves to the next string. Really well thought out. Thanks!

It's responsive and accurate. Overall I like it, but it suffers from some major glitches. First, the display of the pitch gets confused sometimes and scrolls frantically back and forth as if searching for the pitch it is to display. This makes it frustrating when I am practicing intonation on my violin. Secondly, it sometimes displays the right pitch but in the wrong octave. If those can be fixed, I would be elated with this app and how well it works.

I've used quite a few other guitar tuner apps, free and paid, but thought I'd try this one as it has a 4.8 rating. It's very accurate and is definitely the easiest one to use that I've found. I've given it 5 stars even though interface is very basic and there's not many options. I use a slightly compensated tuning on the high E and B strings and even though it's so basic it's actually easier to use (and in some ways more accurate) than more sophisticated tuners that I have on my phone. However I wont't object if the developer adds a custom cents tuning option. It's not only free but has no ads and minimal permissions.

I needed an App to tune a bass when it wasn't connected to an amp. I tried a few other Apps, but none could cope with the low acoustic output level from a solid bodied electric bass and/or the background noise. Then I found this one. It does some clever stuff but, as above, I just needed to tune a bass; and that it manages with consumate ease. The GUI is easy to follow and the way in which the App lets you know that you have found the exact tuning frequency per string is, simply put: Brilliant.

I finally got fed up with Gstrings' tendency to not hear my violin's E string and decided to go on the hunt for a new tuner app. Imagine my delight when I came across one that was rated 4.8 stars! Any app able to coax an average 4.8 from an audience as picky as musicians can be I had to check out. Great app! Does exactly what it advertises. A little tricky to know that you have to use the back button once to save your instrument, but a small price to pay such an excellent tuner.

Excellent app - does exactly what's needed - with no distractions! I have it installed on my Android phone and on a tablet - the only difference I noted was that the tablet seemed to "save" the selected instrument to tune (violin, in this case - which is well down the list) whereas the phone always reverted to guitar setting as default. However, I spotted Dmitry's reply to another comment regarding this behaviour - having exited the app on the phone using the "back" button (as he suggested), it now remembers the violin as default - which means that the app now does everything I wanted on both devices. Many thanks for a really useful tool!

I've tried many tuning apps for Android. This is hands down the greatest tuner app available. Simple, but SO many features. Very high accuracy (depending on the quality of your phone's microphone hardware), ability to change sound frequency, and options for just about every instrument and tuning variant out there. No invasive permissions, lightning fast... I've been playing guitar for over 15 years. Trust me, this is the tuning app you want.

The. D. May 9, 2019

The best free tuner I've ever used! It's incredibly accurate and easy to use, plus it has so many options. I honestly had to recommend this app. It didn't even ask me to, I opened the installer app just to write this review. There are so very many different tuning options. I haven't tried them all, but just thumbing through, there aren't many that I couldn't find. One that I couldn't find was 6-string bass B, E, A, D, G, & C. There aren't many intrusive ads, which makes it my favourite app. :)

I like it for the most part. It's respnsive and accurate. What I don't like (and is annoying) is that when you attempt to tweak a note already indicated as in tune, the tuner keeps jumping around waiting for the next note while ur still trying to tweak the last one. Still, it's the best tuning app I've found so far.

Dav. C. Jan 3, 2020

a good app. it's preciseness is not yet clear. there seems to be a loosey goosey element in the definition of what it means to be in tune and it accepts both as slightly flat and sharp tones as "close enough" to be acceptable. I'm going to give it a little longer. Here's a 1.3.2020 update. Of the free apps for tuning that are available this is still my app of preference. It has flaws, but works well enough for most day to day use.

Tar. a. Jul 10, 2021

Great app, very accurate. Especially like the in tune beep! Would it be possible in a future update to include a feature that allows one to plug in?To eliminate outside background noises, rather than depending on the external device mic, which makes it difficult to use in live performances/or band practice. Will rate 5 stars when new feature appears in update!

Excellent sensitivity, can be used with a reasonable amount of background noise -- I tested several guitars and ukes with medium loud TV and street noise -- clean and intuitive interface, and a great number of on-point options. FREE OF CHARGE. A real butt-saver when you have no access to a hardware tuner, plus options that no standard hardware tuner has. FREE OF CHARGE.

Sco. K. Mar 13, 2021

Great app! Nice clean interface uncluttered by ads or unnecessary flashy things. High accuracy combined with well thought out options make this a winner. One tip: the tuner defaults to auto sensing, and background noise/harmonics can cause the displayed frequency to jump around. Tapping a specific note on the keyboard will lock the tuner to that frequency and make it easier to read.

Mik. F. Feb 24, 2019

Works well - tunes accurately and the uncluttered display with the 'in tune' notification is especially nice for onstage use. Probably the next best thing to a dedicated hardware tuner, but those aren't free and my old one is broken. I don't do a lot of app reviews but this one deserves a good report. Highly recommended by this long time professional musician

Good app for analysing my pitch when I'm singing. Particularly useful features include wide frequency range extending both below and above the piano. For someone who is trying to expand their vocal range as wide as possible, this is a good gauge. Does occasionally pick up stray frequencies much higher than the original frequency but the app is most likely picking up an overtone instead of the fundamental note, particularly with notes below Double Low C or C1.

Jac. C. Jul 27, 2021

This app does a very good job of getting your instruments in tune for finding a reference pitch to sing. My only gripe and the reason I gave four stars is because the way the screen slides along the keyboard as you change pitch is annoying and interferes with finding the pitch you want, especially in a somewhat noisy environment. But I recommend this app for tuning, it does the job it needs to.

Phy. P. Apr 27, 2020

I like this app because you can change the setting from guitar to violin, it doesn't take up much memory space, and when it shows the green light because you hit the note perfectly true it also makes a little bell noise that goes "ding" as you hit it perfectly. I never seen an app that does that before. Neato!

Sam. B. Mar 31, 2020

This is an excellent tuner. It automatically can tell the note that I'm trying to tune (presumably this wouldn't work if your instrument was very out of tune) and recognizes the adjustments that I make much more precisely than the last time I try to smartphone based tuning app. And it's ad-free! Just fantastic.

Mar. L. May 16, 2020

Excellent tuner app. The only one that I have found that consistently works with bass. For best results use the chromatic mode. Bass mode gets lost and cant figure out which string you are trying to tune and as a result it will not stop jumping from one string to another as it focuses on different overtones. If you have trouble try damping the strings at the nut to cut overtones.

Emm. S. Mar 29, 2020

Pretty accurate, but very difficult to navigate. No adds though!!! That's the good part. It also works well with drones. It'd be nice if it had a metronome, like the majority of tuning apps I've found, but for what it is it's good. Practicle and functional. I haven't had too many problems so far.

Nic. N. May 4, 2022

The best tuning app ever!! Completely universal, and to any frequency.
