Free VPN Proxy by HexaTech

It works fine but doesn't seem to pay attention to settings or explaining why a particular setting won't operate. Rated down another star because it will not work on my new phone and says wrong password when I have verified it each time on my laptop, tried several different times, and even changed passwords. That and it is not easy to get a response on their app.
Pretty good so far. Hate the constant subscription nags. I purchased the paid IOS version for $50. It hasn't performed any better than a $7.99 VPN app I lucked out and found. I can tell you in order to switch servers successfully you have to disconnect and reconnect. That isn't the case with some others. Hadn't had any speed issues. UI is clean and straight forwarded. Fast VPN is my main VPN app. I paid $8 bucks and it's completely paid for
I like the protection very much. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the VPN blocks my email app from sending and receiving. I'm looking for a way to change that setting, but I have yet to find it. When Comcast/Xfinity eliminated their app, I had to find an app that honors my privacy and will notify me when I receive mail. That is literally my only issue. All other apps (that I've noticed) work just fine when I'm connected to my VPN.
10/10 again. Great job Betternet, but can you please fix the bug on the Notification Panel Button? You did an amazing job getting everything running great again. Please, don't ruin it like you did Betternet. So, what happens is if I'm connected to a network and it goes offline and my device connects to another network it won't connect because I'll need to go to my settings and force stop the app in order to connect again. If I don't and I go to the app, the button is broken on disconnect. Also, when I tap the Hexatech Icon on the Notification Panel it doesn't connect or disconnect. Please fix it there too like you did with Betternet. I have Android 7.0. Thanks!
Terrible! Purchased a 30-day money-back trial. Had several problems, decided to cancel and return to my old VPN service. Contacted them by email & was told there was no record of my account despite forwarding my PDF receipt and screenshot of bank payment. Called them and they had no record of my year's payment upfront and said I had to email them! Never resolved. UPDATE: 11 months after this review I received the lame response below to try to salvage their online image! Unbelievably bad. AVOID!
I have been using this app for around 3 years on all of my devices, Android phones/tablet and iPad, and it works great! My ISP(in USA)automatically blocks certain websites that THEY find "inappropriate" or "may contain misleading information", this app circumvents all of their BS and I can freely surf the web and it really is free! There is an option for a "premium upgrade" but I have never found a need to upgrade since the free version works so well.
Won't connect on my Windows 10 Pro PC, keep saying Vpn network adapter is being used by another VPN. Update: The issues are now fixed.
Okay, this WAS an amazing app when I first got it. After a few weeks it stopped working which was weird and everytime I went to connect it would say 'disconnected' and it would say 'there is a problem, try again,' like what? Overall, it was an amazing app. I recommend it. Did net work forever but it works!
It works pretty well. But i keep getting this problem where the connect button (And some other things) Keep dissapearing. Because of that, i either have to restart my device, or delete and reinstall the app. And other times, the app just freezes completely, usually after an ad.
This is a scammers. I'm waiting nearly a month for my refund. All they say is they experience a problem. They didn't have a problem to take the money. I will say this on every platform
App is not supposed to connect to my chosen trusted wi-fi but it does. I can't send or receive pictures through text and email if I'm connected to Ultra VPN. My security cameras give me notifications, but I can not view any videos or live camera view if I'm connected to Ultra VPN. Seems like there are a lot of glitches that need worked out.
I have to force quit it every time through settings because after tapping disconnect in the app it will never actually disconnect. Also, the ads are terrible and I hate when I'm using my phone in public and a live.me ad shows up and anyone who sees my phone thinks that I'm weird. If you are going to have ads, don't use ones with twerking girls.
This is the only VPN that I have ever been able to get to work on my high school campus, which comes in handy. However, it CONSTANTLY turns itself on?? And that really makes me angry. It'll turn on when I'm not even connect to wifi and just start using my mobile data. Or I'll be at home, where I clearly don't need it, and it will just turn itself on. I absolutely hate when I wake up in the morning or pull my phone out and it's just on for no reason.
No longer connects, reinstall didn't help. Stupid message: there is a problem. From other device I can connect. Nothing changed on device... Rrally months later a beginners answer... Ofc i did that before i wrote this review. I moved on to windscribe. Million times better.
Of course the VPN feature works amazing, despite the slow-down. But what is ridiculous is the pop-up ads during use...It's f***ing annoying...bothersome. and quite frankly. I preffered this before this big update and picture change. No longer using Hexatech, good riddance.
It worked like a charm to the certain extent. And then Ads become more frequent and unabke to watch 2 min video in peace. I understand that the free version of app needs ads to keep things maintained. But it was simply too much of it. Uninstalled it but it's still a good vpn.
Fine for windows. The app just keeps disconnecting, doesn't enable the kill switch. Have it set to always on. Never tells me it disconnected. Getting rid of it both on computer and app because there's no point if I need to pay for phone app
After the recent update (new look) I am not able to close the initial screen of "Start Free 7-Day Trial" on Android TV box (TX6). Nothing happens when I click on the X (close) icon. But on android mobile it gets closes and I could connect the free version. Please fix this.
Hey! This app was working fine till yesterday. In the morning i tried to connect to a server many times i was using v2.1.6 but i thought i will update it and problem will be gone but no at least in the lower version app opened but after updating it starting freezing on the hexatech logo. I tried clearing data rebooting uninstalling reinstalling issue remains same. What to do?
THIS IS A SCAM. I was charged about $12 for the FREE trial a day before it expires. I never even used the app. I want my money back, you theives. Edit: I contacted support twice re. this concern; I even provided screenshots. They were unhelpful both times.
Great app and VPN. Simple to use and connects quickly. It improves my connection speed and blocks most limits that WiFis attempt to impose. However, the recent update has implemented ads which will interrupt what I'm doing.
Poor response time. Connects even when my settings is not set to connect. It has caused numerous server problems and they are telling me they will get back within a day...it's been 3 days and still unable to purchase thru certain websites. Please, if Ultra Vpn is reading this...I'm requesting a full refund and you can have your app back. This is not the way to do business or update your app for a s21 Ultra samsung phone. Call me. The only way to make things work in, is to disable your app.
Used to be pretty good but lately causing problems with persistent drop out on my Android 9 and 10 mobiles. Also now having problems with no internet connection when this product is active. I'm under subscription so hope these service issues can be quickly addressed.
Terrible VPN! While turned on, many websites and services cannot be reached. I also experience very slow connections. As soon as I turn the VPN off, I have no issues.
This app turns itself on randomly. I can set up trusted network and VPN will randomly turn on when connected to one. I can turn off all 'connect when' functions, and turn off this app. Within a few hours it is turned on and connected. The final straw with this app is the SUBSTANTIAL impact it has on network speed. When activated, our speeds decrease by sometimes as much as 50%. Turn off and disconnect this app and everything returns to normal (at least until it secretly turns itself back on)
