FreeAgent Mobile

Good App, but limited functionality compared to the online version. Tend to use the online version more than the mobile App. I believe the App should do everything the online version does for a seemless experience. If done well it won't look cluttered.

Freeagent is absolutely fantastic from small business perspective. It provides almost all accounting tools free if you have a Mettle bank account. The only weak point is its internal bulk payroll function. You cannot see employer NI in the payroll but in Salary detail. But that's alright. You can benefit all free as an accountant.

Really good so far. Could definitely use some improvements to the UX So when navigating between the money in, money out etc. It stays on the last sub page you were on. Might be useful I guess but found it annoying having to manually press the back button in the top left. And documents gives you a preview and instead of clicking the preview to open it you have to click the three dots in the top right corner. ( Again... Probably comes down to personal preference that tho )

Ok, easy to use, bit slow to use if you are a professional accountant or bookkeeper in terms of data entry. Probably best for micro businesses.

Does the job I need it to. Its a phone app so it can be slow to use. VERY useful for uploading receipt invoices. Searching for specific receipts couldn't be more basic [ scroll till you find it :( ] The camera app on android is a let down since they removed setting your resolution (to ve clear this isn't a fault with the app!)

Excellent app. I use it every day to explain bank transactions, upload expense receipt and most importantly explain bank transactions so that the software is always up to date, meaning I can use my business finances to make good business decisions. Thanks FreeAgent!

Fantastic for a mobile app. Almost as capable as the web version. Developers continue to improve regularly with meaningful updates.

Easy to use and everything is there you need! Calculations are great, can just get on with your business.

As a contractor I've been using Nixon Williams as my accountant for years. Now I'm forced to use this app instead of the traditional means. I can see clear advantages for the accountancy in that it transfers s lot of the leg work away from themseyto me. I don't see any significant upsides for myself on that I don't have access to be able to extract backups, so I'm forced to keep double records (one on the App and one locally) in case I ever lose access to the App and,/or leave Nixon Williams.

Really great for getting a lot of routine jobs done on the move but I still prefer my laptop version for more involved work.

The app has always been great. I was using 1.9.0 but having upgraded to 2.6.4, it's been unnecessarily restyled, it has tiny text and loads of wasted space and I have to scroll continuously to see the entries. It's had all of the clever features I liked removed. Time entry is now a chore. Invoicing for more than one project is not possible. It's dreadful. The old app was excellent, this was a bad idea.

I was involved with the beta testing of the original (non-native) app years ago, back then I gave feedback that a native app was the way to go and a browser based app would simply never be as fast and usable. Not everyone in the beta group agreed, but I'm glad to see they finally came around to my way of thinking! This app is a vast improvement, but I still would like to see more of a standard Android app design rather than the unusual quirky navigation used here. Looking forward to more features being added so it becomes a genuine usable alternative to the website.

Has gone downhill recently. Saving an expense with a receipt attachment takes forever and repeatedly hangs/fails without any message. The above happens with either photo capture or selecting from a gallery. So much time wasted doing this, I've found it easier and less time to actually go to the PC, start it up and scan a receipt and attach from there than to use this app. That feels so wrong to me.

Used to be an alright app to use, not perfect but could do enough "on the go" however since the last update it's useless! Most of my invoices have CIS deduction. App used to show the total amount of the invoice and the amount actually due (less the deduction) making it easy to see which invoice had been paid as I could just match up the amounts but it now just shows total amount. Explaining bill payments no longer automatically uses the "bill amount" as "amount paid". Now need to type manually

excellent, i use this on a pc, tablet and my phone, simple to use and navigate. i was a sage user, this is simple compared to that but with all the same benefits. there are lots of user guides to help you through the initial setup and if like me you cant quite find what you are looking for the support team are more than helpful and will talk you through something and explain it in simple terms and not in accounting jargon!

from last update i can't send invoices anymore, when i tap send does nothing and i am trying to edit the subject and tap send again and it says "body can't be blank " but where i can write because i tap everywhere on screen and the keyboard doesn't show up or to write something, malfunction . on my Samsung S10+ device, so please fix this. Update! I uninstall and install again the app and is working!

Was paying for quick books before, no idea why as Freeagent is better and some how also free?? Great app

It's only got limited functionality and processes, such as approving transactions, are clunky - you can only confirm one at a time. Expenses aren't great either - when setting up a mileage claim you need to first of all select and delete the distance from the previous entry which isn't smart programming.

So many bugs in the new app version. Terrible! Released without testing.

Great app - few small limitations but I wouldn't want it to function completely without the desktop version anyway, and the integration is fantastic

Much better after issue with forced logout fixed. Would like expense amounts to be easier to enter (currently last amount is defaulted which I have to double tap on to select (which not always works) then delete and/or type over). Would be better if I could tap on the field (blank), have the numberpad pop up and just enter the amount.)

I am finding this app great and I use the web browser version too. Very easy to use and helps me keep my wee business organised.

Brilliant app for business. Just need to know how to change my invoices to say 'Tax Invoice' and not just Invoice. Please advise.

Good app to manage day to day book keeping. It serves its purpose if you're a SME - more than enough to get the job done. Customer service is good although often they'll recommend speaking to your accountant whereas I would prefer if they offered this additional service. Negative: - can't take pic / attach more than one item to a single entry. - can't have more than one app so you're stuck if you have more than one freeagent account

Rubbish. Won't let me approve most payments as drop down options for purchase of stock doesn't work. Has randomly disconnected my bank account for no reason. I have to do everything via my PC as I the app only lets you do certain things not everything that it should. Very annoying and very frustrating. UPDATE: Still the same issues after update. Can't even explain a cash sum of money that I put into my account without having to log on to desktop version. Won't let you ad description of stock.

A real game changer to starting your own SME. Intuitive, and extremely easy to operate, plus the customer support for FreeAgent is outstanding. My accounts are done on the move in the app, and then the tools on the desktop version help me to tailor the data and branding just how I want it. Highly recommend!

Thank you for the native experience, FINALLY! The app has always been useful, but it always felt really clunky. Now it feels like a real app! Can't wait to see all the cool features that get added in. Other app vendors could learn a LOT from this transformative change.

The FA app is average at best for my personal usage, it covers a few of the basic things, but for some reason is missing some of the most important areas for creating invoices on the go. The app needs way more functionality before I would consider it functional for my needs. Stick to using the website.
