...jus awful! 2 stars is very generous, takes forever be to get to pickup screen! Hate this app... if you go into the app and look up a Destination but never actually request a ride it gets stuck on that and won't allow you to request another ride until you check into that destination....more problems. Every time it gets updated ...awful app..it keeps saying ride in progress but won't let you check in or start over until you are at checknin at the destination
I used to use freebird and it was legit as heck! 100% cool and useful app. I got my points I got my cash back rewards I got everything they promised. I haven't used it in a long time but I'm fixing to use it again and if it sucks I'll update my review. But knowing how helpful this app was for me at one point in time I had to have freebirds back after seeing some of these bad reviews. Don't knock it till you try it.
Never had an app that can't even manage to verify email. I get an email with a verification link when I click on it it says verification failed. HOW, if it's sent to my email and I open it that should be the process how do you mess that up.
Horrible App and Customer Service! User BEWARE!!!! They charge a "Monthly Maintenance Fee" of $2.99 after 6 months of no usage. I'm sorry we just went through a PANDEMIC for the past 2 years and I didn't want to take a rideshare! NO notification of when the charge was applied via notifcation in app or via email or I would have cashed out!!!! Customer service gave 500 points to me after I asked for a grace period due to Covi. UNACCEPTABLE!!! If assistance offered and I will consider re reviewing.
This app was great before Covid. Dont understand why they removed so many deals like the $5 ones. Should have been the same, because so many of us where taking Uber, Lyft more. App is awful now. Not worth using.
I am editing back to my initial review of this service. App is extremely buggy. The app doesn't save your work and home address as it claims to, so you will have to go through a number of screens to re-input everything each time you use the app. Support is also extremely unhelpful and ,frankly, rude. They only look at the most recent message when replying, as opposed to looking at the issue as a whole. Freebird also refuses to fix their points applied when it is due to their own system issues.
Love it. The interface is fine, the little fun facts are cute, and the points add up pretty fast. The price ranges are always accurate. I've never been disappointed. When I've checked it against the app prices they've been the same. I'd say that on average I've gotten $1 back for every lyft I've taken this year. It's free money. It's even better if you're a bar hopper or are willing to try new restaurants. Search places you've been wanting to go and see if you can get points or cash for going.
The app is totally broken right now. The homepage never loads and is just a bunch of blank squares, and when i go to search for locations nothing shows up. I managed to get my destination to show up by browsing through the suggested bars, but then when i went to request, it showed my location as my home address, not my current location, so my estimated ride cost was $140 for an 80 mile trip instead of $10 for a few miles! Yes, i had location services turned on. Clearing app data failed too.
I tried to give it a chance, I take ubers daily so some sort of reward or cash back process would be great. I even tried reaching out to their support team, the app just doesnt work, bottom line. There's no way to just order an uber, the only option is to select a restaurant or bar they advertise and order an uber to that location. Great concept, except I dont wanna be told where to go, when I order an uber I like to select my pick up and drop off address, since I am paying for it after all.
I used to LOVE this app. thought it was such an amazing, and really helpful/beneficial concept..but of course, now, after the update, the reward for each ride has been significantly reduced to 250 points for every ride, regardless of the distance. not only that but the 500 points for a ride home option no longer exists. additionally, you need a minimum of 10,000 points in order to get any cash back. there's a lack of incentive to actually order an Uber or Lyft through this third party app. 👎
pickup location has been off, for every pickup. Sometimes, by 3 blocks. Never got credits for inviting new users. I know this because, i watched them install the app, and use it. Like the idea of the reward for using the App. But, can't not reward for sharing and no credit. Great in theory, lacking in execution.
This app started out good. I was able to collect enough points to actually cash out money. Most apps say there is a cash out, but make it impossible to do so. I was 1 ride away from a $20 cash out and then they updated their app and changed their points system to where I would need 10 more rides just to reach $20 instead of the 1. No heads up or anything. And then they just changed it AGAIN. It's now impossible to ever get enough points to be able to cash out again. Total trash app now.
App doesn't seem to recognize where I am. Turned on my location. I'm in West Virginia and when I type in local places it is giving me options in New York and nothing from my area. The home page is grayed out and blank. I went to add my card link and mid input it just switched back to map view. I'd would be nice to save some locations so I don't have to search every time. These seem like some heavy bugs but I will try to use it tomorrow anyway because I want it to work but if this stuff is not fixed in an update soon I will delete this app.
Great app! Easy to use! Highly Recommended! Its also had some pretty good rewards/cashback offers & promotions so far. I Like how it pays you in actual $$ & not BS gift cards like other aps. Cash out minimum is low (or maybe there isn't a minimum?) & the time it takes to transfer rewards to your bank account is only a couple of days. It would be cool if they offered an instant transfer/withdraw option for a small fee. (Similar to how Venmo gives you the option for instant transfer)
There are additional fees when booking a ride through this app when compared to booking it directly with Uber or Lyft. So although the cash back rebates usually cover those fees, and sometime will be a little more than that, it seems a little disingenuous to advertise "$10 cash back", when you were charged $7 in extra fees. Still, I would recommend the app because saving a few dollars is better than nothing. Just pay attention to the extra fees!
Overall experience is great! The app tends to lag a bit as far as displaying your driver's location, but that can be easily remedied with switching to the Uber/Lyft app. Points earned are reasonable for the trips, though I'd like to see larger amounts earned for longer travel distances. Just cashed out for the first time, will leave an update on my experience!
Not loading! This app is mediocre at best, since you have to do a whole work around anyway if you want to tip your Uber drivers. But today, the app stopped loading. It gets stuck on the start up screen and just doesn't go any further. The cash back is really nice, don't get me wrong, but in 2019, you expect basic apps to work better.
I honestly don't have much to say about this app due to never being able to even add my home address, which is where I would mainly get picked up/dropped off at. It's not a brand new address and it's definitely not a commercial one. I'm giving 2 stars due to customer service being helpful and trying to figure out what's causing this issue. Last I checked they contacted higher up & I haven't heard anything new. Tell me why only a few neighboring cities that have the same exact address pop up?
Not a very good first impression, reading about the app I thought it would be cool to check it out. I downloaded the Freebird app, agreed to the terms of service, clicked on the uber symbol to connect Freebird with my Uber account, got a purple screen with the white wing... but wait there's more! that page loaded and WoW! Blew my fricken mind!🤯 My screen flashed Bright White! it was so fricken Cool... it froze! right there every single one of the 10 times I have closed and reopened it! 🤯
I like the idea of this app, and I've been using it religiously, since the small amount of money you can get back is still better than nothing! The only issue I have is that every time the app opens, it gives me the same "TypeError" message (both when using my Lyft and uber accounts), and it's clear that there is some glitch problem happening, because the map never loads or shows me where my driver is, and it just feels really slow and buggy over all. Is there any way to fix this?
Y'all! This app is legit! I have gotten so much cash back using Freebird! I'm also able to use my Uber Credits to pay for rides! It's awesome! Edit: The support team is so great!!! I had an issue with the app crashing and they updated their app and released a patch within 48 hours. I had to uninstall the app for a couple days, but they fixed it so fast! Thanks, Freebird team!
Absolutely garbage app, there is no longer a reason to use this anymore. Their point system is so jacked up that assuming the bulk of your points come from standard 50 point rides, which it used to be 200 a few years back, it takes you 80 rides just to make $4. I did 162 rides and got $145 in total over a year or two. That same ride investment now wouldn't even get me the $10 reward. Don't bother.
The app is an excellent way to save money ! The problem I see is that you have to learn what to click on to get you the best prices. I have always used the shared Lyft rides which usually save me two to $5 per ride. At the end of your ride the app always tells you that your ride is coming yet they have already came and I always have to cancel which is kind of aggravating. The app needs to reset itself but it is not
Won't stop closing and inturrputing whatever I'm doing on my phone. I get this popup every 3 to 5 seconds that says "Freebird Keeps Stopping" and gives me the options to select "App Info" "Close App" or "Send feedback" None of these options make the popup go away. It started doing this 30 minutes ago. Prior to that, it was a great app.
So far so good. App itself could use a little adjustment, the screens seem a bit overwhelming at first. Nice to be able to get the same information from Freebirds app as from Lyfts. Love the idea of a point system. Promo code worked with no issue. Will continue to use and review again in the future.
I Uber and Lyft almost every single day. It adds up. Freebird has never missed a payment reward. I'm at $30 in cash back awards and I've only had this app a little over a month. I am pleased with it. I was skeptical at first but not anymore. It almost seems too good to be true. If you're a frequent rider on Uber or Lyft - I highly recommend it. You have the option to deposit cash rewards DIRECTLY into your account. I haven't had any issues. Thank me later, but download today!
I'm the 3rd guy in the commercial. At the time this app was fantastic. Since then, they have withdrawal almost all of my funds in "fees" that weren't disclosed. The $200+ I mentioned was all gone due to "fees" I reached out to support about this and they essentially gave me the finger. Great how an app can withdraw $2.99 a month w/o making disclosures during hard times. They also did a bulk deduction of $17.94 for "6 months" of fees without ever telling me. Stay away from this "con"pany.
I absolutely love this app! it's super easy to use, easy to switch between rideshare accounts, payment options, and there are always extra bonuses. I use uber and lyft daily and I get about $10 back a week and it's in my account in just a few days! I have already gotten over $130 back just by using Freebird!! This is a must have app if you uber or lyft!!
I love the rewards with the app, but the newest update is so frustrating. I hate that it no longer hives an estimate on cost or how far away a ride is before choosing the ride, and that it now sends me to Uber or Lyft to order a ride, after I've already done the exact same thing in the Freebird App. The previous version was so much more convenient.
I really wish they would go back to accumulating cash for points. I really don't have any use for the rewards that they currently have so I usually only end up using the app when there's a $4 cash back safe ride home... And that's only when I remember to use it because I usually forget now that I'm not in the habit. When I was accumulating cash reward points, I would make sure to open the app every time I was about to get a ride.
