im a brand new customer and my firat impressions are not very good. This is a very dated app and needs a complete refactor. Notifications are not working as expected either. It would be great to have push notifications so we can be notified of alarm status changes on our device. I would also like to see Alexa or Google Assistant support so can tell it to set the alarm and also control the alarn in Googoe Home. Im happy with my alarm system, but this app does not do it justice.
This FREE control has been problematic since installed by Astra Alarms in late 2019, following a system failure June 21 a dongle type item was replaced. The Free control app has worked fine since until today 30 July. Now I have to enter Google Play store each time I need to use it. The Free Control icon is no longer accessible, is this because you want £20 a year? When I paid Astra Alarms this feature was a described as a free benefit no matter of an on going cost was ever mentioned.
Don't buy a smart alarm. This app completely crashes sometimes and takes days to sort out. You are at the mercy of the servers and when they are down or updating you don't get any notifications and you are left potentially vulnerable to opportunistic thieves.. Which is not what I spent nearly a grand forI wanted a smart alarm ii can control anywhere this tech has been a complete waste of money and regret not staying with hard wired security system.
Keep getting a " unknown error has occurred" message every time I try And set the alarm. On other occasions it kick's me out . I can still set the alarm I just have to close all the error popups first. Only started doing this since August. Might be a issues with Android 10 compatibility.
This app is terrible. Some days it works, others it doesn't. It is extremely slow to respond. Some alerts come through, others don't. Considering the fact that this app controller something so important, the developers need to sort these issues out urgently. This is not a dependable app.
I have this app on 2 the same phones and notifications don't work on one.the option to turn notifications on is the app is not available one 1 phone.very strange.have uninstalled and reinstalled still nothing...a real pain as I don't get notified when the alarm is triggered.so place could be empty before I find out.
It constantly needs rebooting ... goes off line frequently for no aparant reason. Absolutely ridiculous!
Don't touch Risco with a 9 foot barge pole. Not only do they want £1000's for the alarm, they've screwed up their business model so badly, now thet want to rob you for the privilege of using it. My alarm is now dumb. They don't even allow it to email me if it goes off. They need to start off by renaming the app. It's anything but 'Free'. Steer clear and get your alarm guy to install Texecom. They're better alarms anyway. So you want to teach me about the benefits of the cloud. Ok then...
Slow response until the alarm hits my phone. EDIT AFTER SECOND SUPPLIER RESPONSE: I disagree, less detectors, no video and a smaller system will generate less strain on your cloud server system system. It's your choice how you allocate the total cost to the users and currently your method is too simplistic and generates a > 33% cost increase for me. I think that's outrageous

App is getting worse and worse. So slow to respond, and now quite often just times out instead. Awful considering the price of the alarm system!
Please add a refresh button under detectors. It doesn't update in the app immediately when detectors are triggered. There are a few minutes delay.
Have set up this app hundreds of times for customers. I find it simple to use, robust and reliable. Best security app on market. Highly recommended
Two house phones,one works well,the other displays 'unfortunately free control has stopped'and report or ok. I cannot log in nor re register.The response is invalid e-mail. Can you help as my service contractor cannot. Allan Kline.
Suddenly the panel is disconnected since Sept 5th. Local installer has no clue about how to fix it. Risco Spain pointed me to the local installer. Loop mode, ping pong mode. Annoying.
App stopped working and the resend password doesn't work..for such an important app, it is a truly terrible service and complete waste of money.
Currently really poor, constant time outs and messages saying request rejected as two users with different permissions cannot access. Fix this Risco it's a disgrace!
Was using this for 2years but had to delete app now tried to reinstall and wont allow a custom url. So cant login to alarm system.
This is a great little app and once it's set up it's all good. ***Christy the PIN is your home keypad PIN
It was working fine until this update now the whole biometric thing is messed up and doesn't work properly
Outdated design , such a let down after paying such an expensive alarm system.
Sometimes very slow to connect or refresh status of the alarm.
Terrible app does not work half the time Lot of lag now they want charges for what What are different plans only offer plus 1 What is annual service
i keep trying to reset my password ,hitting the forgot password it then asks for your e mail put this in and it says e mail had been sent to reset my password never receive any e mail to reset my password
Freecontrol - perhaps miss-named as you pay a monthly subscription.
Terrible app. Almost always offline. Now they want to charge for it. UPDATE to developers response. It is offline more than other WiFi device to the point I can't rely on it when not at home. I have to use the app for the system installed by the alarm co. They have looked into the problem and installed tp links but nothing changes. So I'm stuck with a poor system and app which I have to tolerate. Then I here you want to charge for it and the installer may increase their fees! Unbelievable.
