FreedomPop OTT Call and Text

'Recent Calls' list is always empty. Making a phone call from the messages list gets stuck everytime. If the app is open, my car BT thinks I'm on the phone, so i have to close the app to use the radio. Sometimes it won't ring if you're in the messaging tab - have to close the app and re-open to get it to receive a phone call. Obviously app still needs work. BUT data speed is good, and messaging works most of the time, once in a while you have to resend a text or attach a photo.

Hi, I can see some problems in this app: First, I have the option to select the phone number that I want in the iOS app, but I can't do that in the Android version. Second, the recent call log disappears once I kill the app process in my device. Overall the app is great! I like the idea and the UI is pretty clean, the calls and messages are working properly!

I've used this for two years. They now charge money for the privilege of having service shut off when you reach your data limit. That was the final straw. The app is beyond awful. Glitchy, frustrating to use, needs WAY too many permissions (and won't let you use it without them!), and does not play nice with do not disturb mode. Call blocking does not work. The free price made this service worth the frustration, without that, they are irrelevant. Spend your money literally anywhere else.

I've been using this app for a while now. The app is okay, and the customer service is great (from my experience). My Mom and I had this huge problem with our phone numbers being switched around (I'm not sure if you guys remember us, the annoying people asking for you to switch our account phone numbers constantly, haha...) Thank you on behalf of my Mom and I, it really helped us. I'm now able to contact anyone for emergencies!

Best app to make calls over internet... voice is clear... and no delay... I would recommend it to my friends... Unfortunately... after I installed it and run it and made a lot of calls.... my account was canceled because free calls were disabled or removed until further notice. That is why I changed my review and my calification

Honestly, I've been pretty frustrated with the majority of the texting apps I've recently, briefly, installed. The kind of frustration that makes the phone , almost , end up hitting the wall. But I've used this one for about a week now and have not had any issues so far. You do , however, have to pay a monthly fee($1.99) to send / receive MMS. But other than that I'm content with it.

It keeps reminding me my account is set up, once it showed an upgrade I did not pay for and when I checked my account for the third time in a row it finally went back to showing it's a free account... other than slightly annoying things like that; thumbs up. :)

Neither i can send free messages through this app, nor i can call any one. I searched google for best free calling app it suggested "FREEDOMPOP" so i downloaded it but it said there's a problem in my connection even i have access to a full signalled router and it working very well on other apps (whatsapp,browser,etc)please fix it or your app should be banned..!!

I purchased a prepaid 12-month, unlimited calling and texting plan with 1 GB high-speed data per month, and so far the service is great. There is a $0.58 per month (billed yearly at $6.99) optional service that I purchased through the app to avoid overages and to avoid automatic top-ups, that I am very happy with. It stops data completely when close to 1GB so that I truly enjoy a full year of service without any surprise costs. Without this service, accidental overages are billed at $10/GB.

This could be my phone but this app is terrible at phone calls. My calls always break up and I can barely hear the other person and sometimes they sound like a chipmunk at times. Texting works just fine and I can receive calls. But this is a ok alternative if the FreedomPop phone / Sim app doesn't work with your phone

it started out good for calling and text inbound or outbound except no MMS allowed without the upgrade. Then it would not register, only go round and round so i uninstalled it. Did a new install and got a new number as well. worked about 1 week then it did the same thing. Will not register, just goes round and round. My advice would be try at your own risk and good luck. I am not happy with it. Will most likely uninstall again.

I have tried all the other text/calling apps & always had some kind of problem. Download was quick simple & I made a call right away. I didn't get to pick my area code , That the only negative is that they chose the number for me. I would recommend that be a choice we should make to pick our own area code and availability of phone numbers you provide.

This is a seriously good app. I would recommend this app to everybody. It is easy, simple and fast. Its very easy to set up. It has ads but they are small so they are almost not even noticable. This is just a great app and I would recommend this app to anybody in a split second. You will have such a good tine on this app, and everything is free and easy and simple.

Free features: 200 minutes/mo & 500 texts/mo ($7.99 for 500 call mins & unlimited texts; $10.99 for unlimited calls & texts) Use mostly for texting & so far it works well. Ads aren't majorly intrusive which is good. Haven't used the phone yet so I can't comment on that function. This is good as a backup text messenger or for minutes in a pinch.

The latest version continually tells me to subscribe to voicemail, and sends me to the play store to install some other Freedom app, not the visual voicemail app. I can't use it at all like this. I hope they fix it, otherwise, I'm giving up on freedompop.

For any UK users who've been getting a 'general error' about problems 'communicating with the server', I was recently advised by someone from whichever company is currently providing support for Freedompop UK (no longer affiliated with the US company according to a twitter DM) that 'We no longer support the APP without a FP SIM'. So it seems this app (the OTT one used on a non-FP sim device to access your FP number) is effectively discontinued.

A really great app! Has smooth interface and is really handy especially when you do not have load at all. The only thing I am wanting to be added here as a feature is that you could also call to the Philippines for free. But all in all, very nice!

Cell service incredible with sublime experience. After searching through perhaps half a dozen various wifi number apps that provided only sms as a serious service, calling being choppy or glitchy while costing credits that cost money while claiming to be "free" with calls to you never even registering... Simple plan schematic similar to a pre-paid cell, the basic free being 200 mins and 500 sms a month with larger and unlimited plans available at a reasonable monthly bill. Definitely a gem.

I would definitely NOT Recommend this app!!! it is horrible and aggravating!! first of all, it only gives you a certain amount of text messages you can send AND receive until you have to pay out-of-pocket !! and then you constantly get spam phone calls BACK TO BACK TO BACK!! From random numbers (ex: 101, 102, 108) and are NOT able to block them!! I received about 35 phone calls BACK TO BACK in a matter of 3 minutes !!!!!take my advice and DO NOT download this app!

Haven't been able to access my account in over a month. When I was finally able to access it just now they changed my phone number for no reason. I have spent too much money with this company and had far too low quality of service for my investment. As of today I have several accounts with outdated contact information thanks to the poor quality of service this company provides.

I hate everything about this app and service! I hate the website I hate it all! uninstalled and will not consider ever using this again! I've been trying to set this account up to make a call for the last hour nothing saves my card my info nothing it keeps erasing it all, I've tried everything to get a plan nothing is working I'm annoyed to the maximum level o hate this thing! my card was charged 20 dollars somehow but it will not save my info for me to get a plan!

Hard app to navigate. Everytime I wanted to read or send a text a request to turn something on or off popped up. Also an icon constantly appeared in my navigation bar making it difficult to know if I had messages or not.

Sounds quality is good, there's no stalling or any types of delays,over all hands down one of the best calling apps that I have ever download,i know this app is going to be In my phone for a long time thank you freedom pop.i appreciate the time an effort you put in in designing does great and wonderful app.
