I want to give this app a good rating but I couldn't find the voice search function, one of the main features I chose this app for. There is no simple instruction how to use app and in most cases you wouldn't need it. But where is voice search? When I click on the magnified glass, only the text box is there. I hide my keyboard but still can't see voice search
Well the dictionary is fine, translates and gives a good explanation. However, there is too much ads which i ignored but at one point it was just too much couldn't finish writing the word to be translated was interrupted 3 times for ads. Decided to delete it
Works smoothly, and incredible wealth of content. Removing ads is a $1 in-app purchase, absurdly cheap for a good dictionary. Content for a term includes concise easy-to-read definitions, then also OED-like entries with copious historical examples; plus thesaurus information, plus sometimes a "critical dictionary" distinguishing easily-confused words. Offline mode only has a few of the dictionary sources, unfortunately.
It was quite an annoying application at first, from the fact that it keeps crashing at the very moment of it actuation or during usage. But keeping a positive outlook because of some of its rare useful features, the latest update did the trick.
I am on the beginner stage in learning french and this apps is a great companion. It comes with samples of sentences too. Inputs: It would be better if when I click the magnifying glass icon, I do not have to erase my previous word first and just type new word right away.
Love it because it provides both an English equivalent but also a definition in French terms - including.a.thesaurus. it provides a vocal pronunciation and uses the word in a sentence. It is a little less helpful on some idiomatic expressions when I need to understand French syntax.
Excellent! most informative with ample examples. My problem is that it is not detectable by readers (Moon, Librera etc) in their dictionary options. Therefore I have to write down myself every word to translate
This app is extremely useful. The only thing I would like it to have (I don't know if it's easy to implement) is a button deactivating English translation. As I'm using it to learn French, it would force me to understand the definition without seeing the English word. Thank you for your effort!
I was able to look up one word. The second try it asked me to rate it, then refused to look up the word. No matter how many times I try, it gives me a disclaimer page and no way to exit. Well, here's that rating you asked for.
Great app. Doesn't require access to your data / phone. Just download the app and that's it! Doesn't always have english translations (ie. occasionally it just has a definition in french) but most of the time it does! Merci beaucoup!
Very good, gave it 4 stars only because there are some entries missing, even though it was s enlisted in suggestions, for those verbs mostly, the meaning - translation is missing, though conjugation is listed.
Stupid piece of sh.. Can't translate from English to French! So, if I want to know if the word for yesterday is ayer or avez, I would normally type in yesterday to find out what all the words for yesterday are. Does the limited amount it DOES do halfway well, though hardly with the clear interface of SpanishDict!
Very happy overall! Simple and fast, very rich in words, uses several sources. The history is stored and one can save bookmarks.
It's the best app ever ,I can't even believe ,it's perfect ,well done.I read a lot in both languages English and French and it's so helpful .So far do good ,I just love it. Cheese
''Impressive Milti-Sourced Dictionary''! Two things however; 1st, you 'May' need network or data access for some things. 2nd, Farlex must have the ''Ugliest User Interfaces, EVER''! I've already bought over a half dozen of them cause they're simply ''Good Apps''! But Man, Change That UI! As it is, you will 'NEVER' Mis-Identify their apps due to the Ugliest UI's 'EVER'! They 'ARE ALL' The Very Same Ugliest! But, I guess it just goes to prove that: ''You Can't Judge A Book By Its Cover''!
I need it for defining and finding out the gender.. Perfect and easy. Would only change that upon clicking search it would clear previous .
Very helpful. Usually there are good clear examples of how words can be used. Verb conjugation tables are very helpful too.
It's a nice dictionary but it's annoying to have to clear the previous search when you want to make a new query. It would be nice for the field to be blank when you select to make a new search.
just what I was looking for as i'm reading to brush up on the French I learned in school! Also, for the people complaining about the ads, they don't seem to appear in the Simple Search function ;)
Very good app, is able to understand spelling mistakes. 👍 Only $.99 to remove ads, I'm happy.
Awesome! I love the fact that it has bilingual examples, however I encounter some words that has no pronunciation audio. I give u guy's 5-star rate though, thanx Merci beaucoup
Very good and translations in French! :) Most importantly it doesn't need to access my info in order to use it! (unlike other apps)
Very detailed. Excellent for English to French students. Lots of examples of word usage.
Simply the best for me so far. Explains every word to detail with different examples and usages.
In addition to word translation you get examples of usage. This makes it more of a complete experience.
Wow.i have been searching good French dictionary for while,I have downloaded loads of apps but they all turned rubbish, walaha this is the best with everything I wanted.
Great app to search for french word....very deep and profound. I recommend it., mostly if you're learning french.t
Very useful but it would be better if it contains self correcting option for the entered word
I'm a native English speaker. None of the other dictionairies that I've tried have this combination of features. I'm learning French, so the translations are obviously helpful. I love the definitions being in French, because it helps strengthen and expand my vocabulary. I also love that the pages for verb roots give one the ability to see the congugations for all tenses.
