This app is actually great for memorizing notes on a guitar. Many options and modes. Ads are minimal and only across the top. I didn't experience any pop ups like other games. I liked it so much I paid the 99 cents to do the ad free mode after a while of practice. I recommend starting with the 6th string only, do all the different modes until it is 2nd nature to find the notes, then move to the 5th string only and so. Then you can work your way into incorporating multiple strings.

One of two apps I use daily on my breaks at work. I feel it's helped me a lot, though still only a "helper" to practicing on a real instrument. The following quibbles are to be taken as suggestions for improvement, not complaints about the app as it stands. I'd really, Really, REALLY like to have sound available when the selected instrument isn't guitar (specifically, for me, mandolin). No need to imitate the actual sound of the instrument--the "guitar" sounds aren't all that good, either--as long as the PITCH is there to hear. I'd also like to see a 5-string mandolin option. I'll also echo two suggestions I've seen in other reviews: an option to hide fret numbers, and a "random within the key of:" pattern.

Great little app. Finally after 20+ years of playing I'm learning all of the notes all over the neck. Been about a month and I only have 1 string to go. The app is very versatile in that you can tailor your learning - want to quiz yourself on the whole fretboard for just a short burst? No worries. Want to spend a long session focussing just on the B string between frets 1-3? You can do that too. I also love that the app generates the tone of the note so that your ears are being trained!

This is a great app. I've been playing guitar for years, but mostly learning from tabs. I have a good music theory background but never linked that to the guitar fretboard and my fretboard "geography" was terrible. This really helps test you, but it won't teach you new ways to think about finding notes on the fretboard, that's down to you and other learning tools.

Brilliant app. Different game modes like find all or identify and locate etc. Complete control over tunings and amount of strings, which section of the fretboard you want tested on. I started with the first string and then two strings and then three etc allowing to learn gradually at my own pace. I don't want this to sound like an ad, so here is what I would change. What I would add is a game mode where it asks you to read musical notation on a stave as to help you be ready for that situation.

Like everyone says, just what one needs, and very well implemented for what it does. But please, please put in an option to remove the fret numbers, or just get rid of them. I want to find the notes on my guitar, which, like every other guitar, does not have numbers on the fretboard. It makes it too easy to totally ignore the fretboard and just paint-by-number. Then to find the note on my actual guitar I have to do something you haven't trained me for. PLEASE! I wish I could show you a photo of the rubber band I use to block out the fret numbers.

Love the tweakability in the app. Can set which strings/frets to focus on. I'm using identify mode. It plays a tone & highlights on the fretboard. At bottom of screen, musical alphabet laid out chromatically. Click the note you think it is, see if you're right. Can also select number of notes per game & receive a score of correct (say 8/10) and average time to hit the answer. Short & shallow learning curve to figure out the game. Can't find anything to complain about. Really nice app 10/5 stars

it's great for me as its free and it has different options for learning like identifying notes, locating them or checking the pace how fast one can recognize the notes on fretboard. One thing I would suggest though, there should also be an option for memorizing note positions of different scales then it will be even more awesome.

Just purchased this app add free. Just what I needed to learn the fret board. My problem is I cant seem to have the option to turn the sound on, unless I'm missing something to activate the sound. I will give it a 5 star if I can get the sound on The video demo has the sound activated. Cheers

Great experience. All the games are necessary and useful. I would suggest that the fretboard is vertical but the words and interface be horizontal because it makes easier to think. Or there should atleast be an option to switch to that

Excellent app, it definitely helps to learn even on the move when you have 5 minutes of your time... the many types of exercises this has , helps to focus, practice and recall how ever you wish to learn... weldone and easy to use app with minimal issues.

Very simple but useful app. Complete think please contact me. I think you guys should show scales and arpeggios sequence of notes, instead of random notes. This app could be way more useful in the learning of guitar neck

This application is my favorite of all the fretboard trainers. Users can play games in multiple modes. My favorite is "locate all", where users have to find all instances of a note on the fretboard!

App really useful but there should not be the numbers of the fret. On the bass guitar there are not the numbers πŸ˜‰ Please remove it or put an option on the setup so that we can choose to have the numbers of the fret or not πŸ˜‰ And it would also be nice saving the records πŸ˜‰

nice practice tool, helped me a lot. would be nice to be able to guess an interval as well, example: given te sol on sixth string, tell me what note would make a 4th augmented. anorher cool thing I'd like to see is 24 frets. good job anyway, thanks.

Great app. Perfect for me to learn notes on guitar. Very easy to set up. Very easy to customise. Have tried a few and found this works best for me. Thank you to the developer. Great work!!

Great app for learning the notes on the fretboard. A 'natural notes only' mode, where the user can switch off the incidentals would be very useful.

OMG......This is an extremely well made, and awesomely helpful tool to learn the notes. It's a memory learning tool and I love the variations to test your memory of where the notes are on the neck of the guitar. Awesome guys!!!!πŸŽΈπŸŽΈπŸŽΈπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Simple gui but very versatile and helpful for learning the fretboard by heart. It makes you want to go another round and be faster/make less mistakes. Includes lots of choices: git, uke, mando, banjo, h/b etc. Really cool!

It's a great little app but there should be an option to hide fret numbers. I unconsciously read them and base my answers on them so I'm much slower at identifying notes on a real fretboard.

Ani. L. Aug 5, 2019

Please put in a feature where one can't see the fret numbers, it'll help advance to the next level. One should be prepared for calculating the fret positions without the help of numbers..

Lad. H. Jul 25, 2020

I like this one easy straightforward and still somewhat challenging. I am a beginner so I like that fact that I can concentrate on the part that I'm learning or open it up for a challenge

Sea. P. Sep 9, 2019

You can learn the whole fretboard in one day with this. It could use an update and better graphics but other than that it works.

J. Dec 3, 2019

I like this app, I can learn the notes without having a guitar with me. It could be improved with having the audible tones of the notes

Jer. C. Sep 19, 2018

I found it very helpfull in getting me to know where the notes are on the fretboard.. wich is what it's supposed to do with the interactive "games". Now I know the fretboard forward and back.

Flu. C. Dec 29, 2018

great app, there needs to be a setting to remove the numbers from the top of the HUD in the game, i would like to rely on the shape of the fretboard and not accedentally refer to the reference right at the top

Really great app. Totally functional. Been using it for years to kill time. Just discovered 7-striny mode! Awesome! Please add an 8-string mode!
