Disappointed. I love the card game, but this mobile port looks cheaply made compared to what you pay for it. Bad UI (very unprofessional, like a kid made it), no real tutorial, no way to exit back to home screen, no undo option if you make a mistake, and unnecessarily tiny text (they replicated the cards exactly and didn't modify for mobile). The achievements screen is especially bad.May end up returning. No ads as someone else commented, and the game does work, but overall a joyless experience.
Features obnoxious pop-up advertisements for their other games, which have no place in a paid app. The gameplay is fun and challenging, a testament to the flawless design of the original board game. However, the tutorial/instructions are near non-existent in the digital version. Many spelling errors; I can guess what "disctracted" was meant to say, but how do i get an "Ear Victory"? It is required for an achievement... ...
Edit: it's unplayable if you use dark mode, due to white text on white background - The animations are a bit too slow and nauseating. There's too much spinning, some popups fade very slowly. Turning off animations doesn't really fix this. - It's not possible to go back to the main menu and look at the card reference without ending the game. I can do this by closing the app, but it's annoying
I love the physical game, but this version is just a disgrace. Frequently just stops responding after I choose a hazard card to engage. The whole UI is just embarrassing. It really lacks life. There is no visual or haptic feedback whenever I press things. It's like a badly made website wrapped into an app instead of an app. If you're charging money for it, at least put some effort into it.
Good implementation of the board game. It badly needs an info button, though, because the controls are not very intuitive. Also, it frequently crashes when you try and resume a saved game. Best to only play it when you have the time to play it through in one sitting!
The card game this app is based on is an amazing solo experience packed into a small box. Each game has this amazing arc where you're building up your capabilities facing challenges, slowly at first and failing often. Then things ramp up in a very satisfying way and you're just barely hanging on by the skin of your teeth until you finally pull out the win or succumb to the withering onslaught. This app is an excellent port of this very fun and challenging little solo card game.
A pretty darn good interpretation of the game. I'll never say an app replaces a game per se, but Friday hits the table a lot less because of this app. That being said the game is definitely easier once you play the physical game as the how to is wholly insufficient. Would be a mark against it but it's a pitch perfect port of one of the best solo board games ever made.
Instead of a tutorial, it just gives you the game's manual to read. Which would normally be excusable, if it wasn't just a scan of the manual on the LOWEST possible image quality. It is barely legible, even when zoomed all the way in. I can't understand why anyone would think that's okay.
Very fun game with a biweekly tournament! It also clarifies some of the rules that may be ambiguous on table top. I gave it 4 stars in graphics because some of the menues fade and therefore hover over what you want to see. But not for long, and it's really not that big of a deal. Enjoy!
Great adaptation, a little glitchy. Sometimes taps aren't correctly sensed or applied. This does not really detract too much from gameplay but can be a bit annoying. Over all this is a fun game and moved well from table to screen.
Good game, poor app. I got this to see if I would like the game. Unfortunately, the app makes playing and understanding the game very difficult, so much so that I've given up and don't even try anymore. E.g.: - no way to see the contents of your deck, the threats deck, discard pile... for a deck building game! - no undo for very basic actions, sometimes costing you the game - activating card powers is really awkward Get Onirim instead. If you wanted to try the game, just buy the physical game.
Really good game with somewhat quirky interface that took me some time to get used to. Manual has small font which is hard to read and cannot be pinched out to zoom in. I still play it all the time.
Great game. You won't need a tutorial if you've played the physical copy before. The interface explains itself, and the only tough part was the game itself, which was already a given.
Fantastic solo card game, challenging enough to draw you in time and again. I would have given it 5 stars but the game has trouble connecting and therefore I have never seen the highscore tables.
I wanted to learn this game and thought the app would be a great option. Other board games have great tutorials in their ports. Not here. I should have read the reviews and spared myself the frustrations of a sloppy mobile app.
There are several card's descriptions missing and the user interface is not user friendly. I asked for a refund and they didn't answer. A bad experience overall.
I learned this on the board game first. I love it, the interface is clunky but I play it enough that I got used to it. Some crashes but worth playing! So much more convenient this way!
Two games in and I'm loving it so far :) Second time I got pretty far even. Of course the physical solitaire game is already great. And this is a great adaptation. Recommend !
Supposedly one of the best one player games, I find it very engaging and still feel far from conquering it as I can see some do in two weekly competition, it will last and last
Love the card game...and I love that I take this anywhere now. That being said, why couldn't there be a code for a free download for people who already purchased the physical copy? Either way worht the 5$
Great game, UI could be a little smoother, but does not get in the way.
A fun and addictive game which I bought to learn the rules. But the digital version is the one I've played a lot more than the cardboard one.
It's originally a one player "board" game, but it's better as an app. It's a deck-builder, with the twist that the starting deck is substantially worse than in most games.
Great art and gameplay. Actual interface is rather clunky, but that doesn't obscure a great game.
A great and effective digital translation of a tight and well balanced solo game. Would definitely recommend.
Previous 2-star rating: It's nearly impossible to learn or relearn the game in this app, unfortunately. It looks good, at least. Its audio setting doesn't work: I disabled sounds, which silenced the title music, but then I started the game, and there were music and sound effects. Current 4-star rating: Audio setting works. Having relearned the game on my own, I tried this app again, and really enjoyed it.
