Friendly for Facebook

Not really sure how I am feeling about the app yet. I installed it so that I could download some of my personal videos from Facebook, and it showed the download process, as well as confirming successful download, but I cannot find the videos anywhere on my phone... I was very happy to have found an app that would let me get my videos into my phone storage, so I really hope I can figure out where they are! If I find them and don't have any further issues I will update to a better review.

I want to love it and I've been using it for ages but there's always something not working. Can't see more than 30 pictures back, can't post a full album, and now most of the time I write a comment and hit post and all that shows up is a few jumbled letters. Too frustrating to even use now.

Less intrusive than FB app. I use it mostly for messager which had been unstable the last year or so. Now it prompts to install FB messenger almost every time. Have to force shut down and open to get it working. Will come back to this app but for now it's not working well.

Other clients don't support FB live or if they do, it stinks. And, my news feed took forever to load, sometimes I'd even indulge it for 5 mins and all it gives me is one post until it proceeds to load again for yet another 5 mins💀 This one works, idk it just does. The FB messenger client also seems adequate enough. Good work, multi platform support too! Just got it today so I'll update this soon again.

Didn't I see that development of this app would end with version 6.x? Didn't I also see that this app was going to become something else with version 7? Well, this app was updated two weeks ago and it's a part of Google Play Pass. It seems safe to assume that development is continuing. I give this app 5 stars because of how averse I am to sponsored posts on Facebook. This app removes them with a default filter of the word "sponsored." That may remove some non-sponsored posts, but I'll take it.

It is more of Facebook fault, really, because I have had the same experience with another browser app that eventually bit the dust, but still, people need to know. Things that don't work: occasionally, photos won't attach to posts. They just won't. You select a photo, confirm, and nothing happens. Another thing: you write a long comment, publish it, and only the first word shows. The rest is lost and gone. Also, as of last month, ads and commercial posts show up in every third post in the feed.

I've been a fan of this app for a few years, but it has gotten really buggy as of late. The biggest issue is the app times out and lags on launch or return from background. Whenever it needs to pull data the whole all will freeze up for several seconds and becomes unresponsive temporarily. The second issue is that tapping on a message notification in my Android notification shade takes me to a screen telling me to install the Messenger app.

For the past few months, all notifications from this app (new FB messages, posts, comments, etc.) stopped arriving. I checked the in-app amd Android notification settings and they are all enabled; I have no notification type disabled, and yet I still receive no notifications. I must stay in the app to see new messages, etc. Why is this? Update (3-30-22): I use a new device now and the problem is gone. Great app!

I think this is a bug: I have AMOLED on, night mode (set to all day) because I like the dark background. But when I go to memories (on this day) It loses the dark background and just shows a white background. I have noticed lately that it seems to be sluggish and sometimes in the memories section when you click on the comments they don't come up it just sits and spins. Other than that I like your app I've used it went to other apps and then have come back to this one. I hope that you can fix it.

Downloaded it mainly for fb & insta. It has the option to disable facebook watch which I really like. It is less distracting, no ads and easy to use. Has the option to download videos as well. But still need some improvements like when try to reply on fb comment the name doesn't show up like fb, I know it's basically a browser but I think they can work on it.

Very nice application, I immediately bought the pro version to avoid the sponsored ads but I hate how the screen will flash with the day theme when reloading a page. It's very jarring & hurts my eyes, especially because I always have night mode on. I also wish there was a way to edit the color of the night theme or background because the night theme makes it hard to see some things like the messenger text box.

This app does everything it's supposed to and more so happy to have this to get away from the garbage Facebook app. My only complaint is lack of emojis and gifts in the Facebook comments. Editing my review. I used to love this app, buts really turned garbage, even after I paid for premium. I still can't upload or share video on Facebook. My customized friends lists disappeared. Now my homefeed is blank unless I switch to browser mode. Support emails go unanswered. Very disappointed.

Love it and most importantly I browse on a tablet in landscape and FB always rotates the screen vertical even if I have it locked out any time I want to make a post or comment. It also lets me use messaging without using the messenger app. 2/26/22 Suddenly it no longer works on my Chromebook, the app store won't even let me try.

Used to love this app as a replacement for facebook and instagram. Through time, it seems that it keeps getting increasingly broken. Each new "fix" seems to break two other things. The most recent update now seems to have broken instagram (won't load at all in Friendly). Disappointed to say the least. Update:. In keeping with the tone of my prior review, more time has passed and even more things seem to be "broken". Down to 1 star now.

Decent app. Counters a lot of privacy breaches that Facebook has been implementing. A lot of handy tools, too such as hiding sponsored posts and irrelevant posts via a blacklist. A few issues relating to Facebook's Mobile version still exists such as the home button randomly leading you to the stories, videos having trouble loading, and other options missing (changing group feed style from new activity to recent posts).

Facebook is very slow and image loading is buggy. works well with Instagram except it doesn't hide posts you've already seen so when I check it I just have to constantly scroll through the same posts. It would also be nice to have a pinch to zoom feature that works better than the current clunky implementation.

I appreciate that I can pay a few bucks to remove all the sponsored posts and I like that I don't see the Instagram reels like I do on the official Facebook app. It does seem relatively buggy though. 1 of the current problems is that groups of pics in a post won't show correctly; it'll show the first few and then start showing you pics from other posts. It would be better if series of pics were all shown on 1 page that you could scroll down to view.

5/3/22: No notices. All shortcuts gone. Can't do post reacts aside from thumb. STILL UNFIXED: FB chats don't alert to new msg without manual app refresh to check yourself & must be done for every reply exchange. Comments often don't post/vanish or only the first few letters of all typed upload. Can't upload vids (in app or desktop mode) to a chat or a group page. Only to profile status while only in desktop mode. This is a new SG21 too. THESE ISSUES GO BACK TO 2020! YEASH!

More flexible and uses way less memory than social media companies official apps. Recommend. Only drawback is there's not a simple way to figure out how to use it (at least the free version of it) or, if there is, a there's a poorly designed way to find help. You can figure it out, and much is obvious -but not all.

EDIT POST STILL DOESN'T WORK. Can't even share ANY content from my phone. Try to "share" an image to friendly, nope. Just takes you to the friendly page and does nothing. Also, the camera icon for adding a pic to your status doesn't work, and hasn't for a long time. PLEASE FIX. Ps.

I can't view messages in FB messenger. It only opens a window to install the app. Please fix so we can view and respond to messages again. Otherwise I prefer Friendly over the Facebook or Messenger app. It doesn't take up as much storage space on my device.

Ridiculous. I paid for this app to be able to download videos from Facebook in HD and whenever I try to download them in HD , it gives a download unsuccessful error. However when downloaded in SD it downloads no problem. What's the point in paying for a service that the app won't deliver? Don't download this app.

I've noticed that I have way my breaches with my Instagram account since downloading this app. Almost daily I have to reset my password and its my work account. I love that its easy to download videos and pictures but I think you need better security to protect our social media. I have business accounts and never had issues until this app was downloaded. Also I've noticed you can't download videos off Facebook or copy wording, only on Instagram. Definitely needs an update.

Please fix dark mode, Facebook: some text stays black and you can't read it, there's no boarder around comment/post boxes etc no boarder or separator around posts. Instagram: dark mode doesn't work. White background with grey text makes it barely usable. Twitter: no dark mode however don't see any other issues.

Good app but Facebook photos are incorrectly scaled on Samsung A7 lite's 1300 x 800 pixel screen. When a marice of photos is expanded, the right third of the photo is cropped off. Scaling in the lower portion is also cut off in certain cases. Other single photos are often not scaled down and underlying text is obscured.

Great app! Removes all the ads which plague Instagram and Facebook apps. Just hope they polish the instagram app and allow posting multiple pictures on Instagram and adding things to stories better. Messenger isn't as good post GDPR. Had only installed the app when fb separated main app and messenger. Seems to defeat the purpose of it can't work properly
