Friendly For Twitter

Pros: None of those annoying ads that's on Twitter app. Option to change theme color. Layout of app is almost the same as Twitter app. Cons: When I click on a link and go back to my timeline the screen is black. I have to reboot app and lose my place on the timeline. Also, there is no way to view my saved trending topics. Both of these are features I need so this app is a failure. If both of these are fixed I would switch over.

I love that it doesn't show ads like the official app. However, this app will lag then crashes after some time using it. And when I click on links that take me out of the app and come back to the app the whole thing just froze so I have to restart it. Also the report a tweet window shows blank. I can't upload image after one of the past updates.

Hit and miss at actually downloading videos, will download photos most of the time. Two main flaws a) randomly crashes, whilst scrolling through feeds, seems like a memory issue. b) if the phones storage is low, this app states it downloads, but nothing is saved... there is no warning of this, because it happens before the phone warns of being low on storage. Also since the last upgrade the app freezes after you come back to it from clicking on an external link.

As usual one step forward, two steps back. Was working great but most recent update causes links to freeze the app, forcing you to close and restart. Also can no longer share any sort of media, just says media is unable to load. Still an ad free experience, so there's that...

When the app works its great. Love the ability to download imagea/videos. But too often it freezes/crashes forcing me to relaunch the app. If it opened back up on the tweet I was viewing it would be one thing. But it always opens back to the home page so I just lost whatever I was reading.

This app has been utter garbage since the update in December. The developers obviously still can't be bothered to fix. Nothing has works anymore. You can't post photos or videos, or report tweets, frequently fails to load. I've now uninstalled. Why don't you sort it out?!

Excellent Twitter experience. Basically what I'd want the stock Twitter app to be. Adless with dark mode and not overly burdened with extra "features". Only issue I have is that it asks me if I want to enable notifications every time I open it.

Update: last version works worse.. nice app, thanks for fixings the download button! keep it up! 👍 New update has changed download behavior, the UI looka terrible and requires more clicks to download?

I've been using this as my main Twitter client for a while, because it was essentially the official website interface with all of the performance-killing parts stripped out. However, the app has been getting worse over time. Earlier, there was no option to open links in my preferred, external browser, but at least there was an option after the internal browser launched. Now even that has been removed. Other bugs: back button problems, image scrolling, etc. etc.

Un installed!! After today's update I suddenly keep getting the message "you have unread messages" (which I don't, but that aside), AL WITH sound. I had sound disabled before, but that setting now seems to be nowhere anymore. And the reminder comes every 20 seconds. Friendly is the only app where I cannot get the text box to show above the keyboard. Sometimes it suddenly does, then 10 min later it doesn't anymore. HELP PLEASE!

Updated 2/2021: app dark mode no longer works. Between this and the fact that the text box is constantly obscured by the keyboard (an issue I noted with my original review that I'd hoped would be fixed and has not), the app is looking less appealing. Otherwise, Lightweight, intuitive app. Friendly allows more interaction than other apps I've used (Tweetcaster, and Twidere, in particular). Friendly allows you to participate in polls from the app.

Biggest negative is that the character counter isn't visible while typing/editing a tweet. I have to keep closing the keyboard to see the end of the tweet & counter during editing. Having to do that repeatedly is time-consuming, annoying & contributes to errors. This is a dealbreaker for me. I do love the ability to easily download videos, pics & gifs w/i the app. Now I use the actual Twitter app most of the time and only switch to Friendly to download videos, gifs & pics.

I used this app to quickly schedule posts from a share function in another app, it was so much faster than doing it on PC. But now, it doesn't go straight to the compose tweet page and instead just takes you to your feed. I could overlook that, but now for some reason, link previews don't seem to be working. Sort of defeats the purpose of what I use it for.

It shows replies, polls and retweets numbers like Twitter app does. It shows the replies accurately and it blocks the ads! Big cons are: 1. replying can't be seen as it's covered by the keyboard and it an issues with the app itself. 2. Voting at polls don't work anymore. 3. After following a link it doesn't want to go back to the post with back button. 4. If you do the refresh action while looking at a picture, back button will close the app instead of existing the photo. Etc

Friendly is more enjoyable to use and as fast as the standard app for Twitter. Changing the colors and cutting out most of the adds is great! Best of all you can cut and paste from with in the app. But I wish it had a different layout than the original, However that might make it slower or harder to read on a cell phone - like many of the other apps for twitter

This app (at least the free version) still needs some work. Few issues that I encountered on Samsung Galaxy S9 :- 1. Unable to open tweets from other sources using this app, everytime I try, it simply shows the home page. 2. When trying to logout, it is unable to do so, showing some error that says 'it is not your fault, let's try again' but no matter how much or for how long you try, you cannot log off. 3. It has no option to make a permanent choice of 'dont show notifications'. Annoying!

Download button no longer shows up most of the time. Every once in a while, it reappears but not consistently and not for every video or image. Developer doesn't respond to support inquiries. App experience has continually downgraded over the last year. Weird memory issue problem still not fixed or even addressed, after 25-30mb in cache app crashes and you have to force stop and delete the cache to restart the app. This is the only app I have that has this issue.

Keyboard obscures text entry. Makes it really hard to do what Twitter is meant for: post/comment. Also, saving images only works maybe 30% of the time. The rest of the time it doesn't even show up. Edit: Had to lower it to one star because the keyboard bug is still a major issue and they don't seem to care about fixing it.

This app is a great twitter client. Best Ive seen so far. Worked great until the recent update which has messed up eveything and its now frustrating to use. When your composing a response the keybourd is covers the screen son you cant see what your writing like you could before. The timeline is jumpy and jumps all over the place and when trying to attach a meme or photo the app resets and goes back to the timeline. These bugs didnt happen before until recently. Please fix this great app.

I've given it a few days and it just doesn't perform up to the standards of the official app. Adblock is slow, images don't load, and the timeline jumps around when I'm trying to scroll. I like the added features but, unfortunately, if the core features don't run smoothly the use of the app is greatly diminished.

DM issue** still not fixed?! Grrreat... ** referring to the fact that in DMs the keyboard covers the text entry box and one cannot see what one types! Major downer! Also: despite NOT granting the app access to the camera, it still creates weird "ghost images" in the gallery. Sometimes just one, sometimes dozens and dozens of "corrupted" images after just 30 minutes with this app. Unacceptable.

When you use the split screen function in Android, it completely refreshes the page and you lose your place in Twitter !@#&! Arrggg Uninstalled in frustration

I used to love Friendly T until the download button suddenly disappeared from the options. Now there's no reason to use this app anymore. I might as well use Twitter.

1 - keyboard hides the tweet edit area so can't see what I am typing. Have to hide keyboard to see what has been written so far. 2 - Can't tweet images .

Doesn't work. Crashes constantly, keyboard hides the text I'm writing, and I can't upload images or post gifs

Can't set feed to be chronological, constantly changing back to some magical order like it thinks it knows me better than I know myself. Have it set to dark mode but starts in bright white for a second. So my experience is phone dark mode, FRIENDLY BRIGHT WHITE, friendly dark mode. Forcing topics to follow. Can't open links in Chrome. It has some special Chrome Tab but it's not the regular Chrome browser. I typically open links to read later. Overall it just tries to hard and fails.
