From Zero to Hero: Cityman

Its addicting at first and I'm the type to just want to achieve the goal on principle. However, this game is a scam. It forces you to always be in a deficit financially for the character. $50 later on upgrades and I'm still just losing money. Which then requires more purchases. If it didn't require certain options or raised the wages, it'd be more fun because you could work at your pace. But when I'm forced to lose 6000 a month in game, it just stops being fun when I've already bought a lot.

I purchased a career boost, thinking it was something good. You start making less money than the monthly expenses. Quickly losing all perks you just paid real money for, then having to start all over. Which makes it a challenge...BUT, pay attention to the health bar, your character can die. If you have spent money, it is gone. NO RESET. If you choose to play, do not spend any $$ as you will soon realize it was for nothing.. Edit: Developers response to my review is irrelevant to my complaint.

It's a good time waster, I've only been playing for an hour maybe so it's too early to tell whether it was worth downloading, there's no forced ads and watching ads grants you coin and the best answers to situations granted, using the 500 coin an advert system will stop your toon from going broke and even allow you to upgrade a little earlier than the game steps expect you to so that's a benefit at least, 4 stars for now, will update after a week of gameplay!

The game has good content , I mean I really love the storyline. But they just make it impossible when you're income is always lower than you're expenditure. And that's when you have to either pay money or watch adds everytime. Sadly dissapointing

While this game is extremely simple and somewhat amusing to play - there is no possible way to play the game with any level of success without constantly volunteering to watch repetitive ad after ad after ad. It makes the game completely unplayable and makes the developers look like sleezeballs.

So far so good! UPDATE: I would rate it 5 stars if I didn't have to watch ads in order to stay afloat in the game, in other words if I choose not to spend money and choose not to watch ads for more money I would have failed well before I even got 1/8th through my life. So for that I can't give 5 stars, the game should go more like if you don't put in the work you will just stay poor instead of failing all together and having to restart. I hope this helps with the development of this game!!!

I downloaded this game today only and now I'm going to uninstall it because as we go to higher job, happiness runs very fast. Because of this problem, I can't do anything in game but always tap on the happiness to fill it. A single day had not passed yet and now it is decreasing in a speed that I am only tapping it like a crazy man. And also the expenses are larger than income.

Game itself has always been great, many things to do and never boring.But now the game is kinda unbeatable if you dont use you 2x salary bonus of 5 min. If you watch ads and it is a little bit boring to wait 4 hours just to play for 5 minutes and think how you are not going broke.As for career paths it generally good but you are for certain failing without external help, side jobs help but not as much.Over all from 5 to 3 stars for me.

Not bad so far. Many of the choices and events that need action are somewhat dodgy or inappropriate, some more so than others. Tome of the characters are dressed in a way that is supposed to be more attractive etc but it's just unnecessary. The basic concept is though.

Thanks for replying - The game just isn't as fun as it used to be :( The monthly expenses exceed the monthly income. The higher I get, there seems to be no relief. My current income is 11K while my expenses are 15K, so I need to watch 2 ads a month to stay out of dept. Side jobs are a great way to boost savings, but when that savings is blown on a 130K car which I need to get a 14K job only for my monthy living expenses to rise to 17K, its extremely frustrating :(

this game used to be fun but not you can't even hardly do anything like I've had to restart like 4 times because I'll get to age 20 something then I would lose everything and all I'm doing is getting the stuff I need for the next job which cost me use all my money which you can't even get any money unless you wanna watch hundreds of videos to get money I mean that's the only other way to get money and to stay afloat I've had this game before and I loved it

Ad removal is not true ad removal. Free speedup is a joke. Random events basically forced you to pick the ad option if you want the "best" results. It's fine otherwise, as a life sim and time waster.

I like what you have to do but this is way to disproportionate! This game has you spending alot more than what you get and you keep loosing everything you need to be able to continue. If it was set up like that in real life most of the population would be homeless. I have to delete this because there's no enjoyment for that.

Game play too slow, and to be honest, I've been playing for a year now, and I am can't get past the age of 30, cost of living is completely off, while wages are too low, so you end up being unsuccessful regardless of what you do, plus you can't keep the character happy for longer than 5 seconds, honestly a frustrating game

It's a good game. But you get to a certain point you can't get pass and lose everything because you don't make enough money for the requirements to get a better job. Then they shut off the watch ads to earn money. You lose your family... you lose your job. You lose those you lose your house. All in 2 months. So it needs some serious changes. Going to Uninstall. I played for days lost everything twice when I got to the same point. I quit

Great little life sim, takes a fair to little intellect to play yet is very addictive.. multiple save files make for easier learning . Less ads would be nice unless using them for buffs or freebies.

Frustrating, Ad city. 500 for an add and need 19k for a car. Need a car to get a job need a job to get 19k it's broken. Don't waste your time unless you want to watch 10,000 ads to get to half way through the game. . . I've even sunk money into it and still need to watch ads every 2 mins to keep my character alive. . . Uninstall watch the TV for less adverts.

I do not understand how this game has a 4.6 star rating. The design of this game absolutely requires in app purchases or hours of adds. The developers response to this is to use features in the game that are unreliable cash flow options. In addition there is only one progression path in the game so all you are doing is watching adds so that you can move your check mark to the next box.

Decent game, too many ads, plus ads are the only way too achieve wealth. The game also offers no incentive too start a "new game" since the gameplay/plot remains the same, their are no choices or different paths too take, you end up playing the same game, just either more or less wealthy.

Nice idea for a game but the deck is completely stacked against you. In order to move up to the next level you always need to spend more of your income but the requirements to maintain the current level you are at requires you to constantly spend more than your monthly income.

After playing it for a day. I found out while it was fun to start, you will have to watch ads to get good choices, then when you get further into it, you will watch ads for extra measly 500 coins. Eventually the side jobs won't help much if at all, then the ads and side jobs combined won't help.

Easily the worst game I've played. I don't usually rate apps, but this was so bad I had to. There is NO WAY, I repeat NO WAY to progress in the game without either spending money or watching DOZENS upon dozens of ads. Horrible format. Truly, truly terrible.

Fun game and great time burner, a challenge each time you play the game through, especially if you try different tactics and options. I like the new "spur of the moment" things that happen and the multiple choices!
