FrontFlash Notification

By installing this application, as soon as you receive a notification there is a flash as your phone starts blinking for the LED notification.
It can be useful to anyone that has a device without the LED notification, but instead have a flash next to the selfie camera.

It also extends the concept of notification to the unread badges received from the applications (ex. the "Facebook like"). So, when an unread badge pops up, in the same way as a "normal" notification the flash starts blinking and you will be notified of what's going on.
Various settings are also available to better configure the application to suit your needs.

It works on all devices equipped with a front flash, regardless of whether or not they have the hardware LED notification.

Main features
• customizable activation based on the current display status and audio mode
• pocket mode and recovery options
• Samsung AOD support
• single or double blink

Excellent app, great idea, very well designed and easy to set up, and so useful. Most phones these days don't have a notification LED, and this solves the problem. When I am away from the phone I leave it on a table face down, and with any message (SMS, WhatsApp, email, etc.) the rear camera flash starts flashing every few seconds (configurable) which you can see easily from a distance. When you go and pick up the phone it stops automatically. Thanks for a great app!

I don't have much time to write many reviews on apps that I have downloaded and installed. But I made time for this app. It is simply awesome. I using the app on a motorola E4, which does not have a notification LED It was so frustrating getting notifications and not finding out until much later. I hated stepping away or being in a meeting and having to turn my phone on to check for messages, emails, etc. An notification LED was a significant oversight on Motorola's behalf. The Motorola does give subtle hints via the MOTO display setting but that requires that you handle the phone to see any notification as it uses the accelerometer to turn the screen on. This app is exactly what I was looking for It activate the front and/or rear camera LED anytime you receive notifications,. It is so customizable to the point that you can determine what apps you want to receive notifications from. Aside from that the app is extremely customizable, sooo many settings, which is a good thing. Such settings as the time window of when the apps should trigger the LED and the app fully integrates with silent mode as well as do-not-disturb settings. Highly recommended

Works well on Moto E4. Lots of options. The only complaint I have is the amount of CPU it takes even when disabled. I haven't enabled it in weeks (haven't needed it) and it already accounts for 1% of battery drain and 28s CPU since I last charged it. 1% isn't much, but for an app that isn't doing anything that seems high. For comparison, I have an audible notification reminder that runs all the time and that doesn't even show on the battery usage list. If I dig into it, it claims 0% battery and 1s CPU.

It would be amazing if this could work solely with the rear flash as well, instead of telling me there are problems. Whilst I know it is designed for front flash, many new models have no flash or indicator on the front, and other apps didn't appear as trustworthy to use, and were much more frustrating to get to work. Definitely a step in the right direction, however this app would do wonders with more personalised settings in regards to which flash to use

Works very well with the Nokia phone. As this model does not have a front facing flash, or any coloured LED indicators on the front of the phone - this app is a great solution to make sure that I don't miss out on phone calls or important notifications. Especially around this time of the year, like the 'fires near me' app. From my experience with the app, I highly recommend it!

Nice app. 4 stars IMO. I've only been using it for a week on my non-fancy Moto E5 Play, but if it continues to remain reliable and stable, then it's worthy of 5 stars. It is light weight and I LOVE its simplicity. I hope the creator of this app doesn't make the mistake so many others have by adding so many features and bells and whistles that the app becomes bloated, overly complicated to use, and buggy. My best advice: Keep It Simple. 80-90% of the users don't need a zillion features; they just want it to be great at what it's supposed to do - blink when a notification arrives. 1/30/20 UPDATE: Well, unfortunately I'm finding this app to be buggy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And yes...I have battery optimization turned off. Sigh...I had high hopes for this app. Dropping the rating down to 2 stars. Maybe a future update will fix it.

Works perfectly... And for free... I was looking for something more subtle for incoming text notifications instead of a sound...or vibrate, both annoyed me. Come to find out a flash notification kinda annoys me to. Apparently it's just the fact that I'm getting messages is what annoys me. But at least a flash is much more tolerable. Thanks guys!

Needs update. Very good idea but so many issues. Sometimes it still flashes even though I'm using the phone(it's not meant to work that way) The pause feature doesn't work, it still flashes after the time period I've set for the night The flashing period should be customisable because 1 hour might be too long. Otherwise, good initiative. Can't wait to see the update. For the time being i disabled it

Works mostly as expected. Except after two weeks of usage and recent OS update to Oreo, I've noticed flash blinking sometimes inside pocket even with sensor option turned on (battery optimization turned off, yes) It would be great to have the ability to dim flash (it's too powerful) and single flash for some notifications, double for others. Although I know this probably require root, at least...

whats going on. the phone is driving me crazy. is the app still active or not. plus your site dont exist anymore. -----------------------------------------it is great. with 2 exceptions; 1-there is a limit of 60 minutes. i would like for it to go for forever. because it is normally never with me. 2-does not work while it is charging. for which it is always sitting on the charger.

This replaces the flashing LED notification light on my old phone. I've never understood why such a useful feature seems to have disappeared from so many new phones, and I was really pleased to find this app. It's very clever, in that it senses when the phone is in a bag or pocket, and doesn't waste battery power flashing when you won't see it. Also, it's easy to choose which apps to include - I only have a few very important ones. Highly recommended.

Was very happy with the app until recently. Now each time my device is rebooted an unwanted shortcut gets re-added to my desktop with the added annoyance of a notification sound informing me of such. I can't find anywhere to disable this annoying behavior. Want to rate this 5 stars, it's a great app. Device is Moto E4 Plus, running Android 7.1.2

Ben. C. Nov 16, 2021

Pretty good works as intended, cusomizable, and I didn't notice any impact on battery life. One thing is that there isn't an option to disable it when on silent mode, have to manually turn it off each night. Maybe I'm just blind and can't see the setting though.

Man. Jul 21, 2019

Two annoying problems. 1. No matter what I set the service suspension time to (I've it from 9PM to 8AM), it'll disable a few minutes after 12AM always and activates back at 8:40AM. 2. I always keep my phone lay on its screen while I sleep. It won't flash while the phone is in that position, which is good. But when I pickup the phone just after I wake up, it flashes that pending flash of the last notification, right into my eyes and makes me want to throw my phone away.I feel blind for next 5 secs

The app was working very well for a while but now it keeps saying that the currently installed version is not supposed and that I have to update it. But when I open the notification it opens the Play Store and there's no update. I already have the latest version. EDIT: The issue was fixed, so it's working perfectly again.

So its only been one day and i guess you have offered a lot in one app. Without ads is like are you god 😐😐😐. You must really good with algorithm that you made such a smooth app. It is just one day and I am using it in Moto G60. Suggestions for you if you make other products like this add a feature of blinking LED with some delay like. The time of turning to peak bright should be high and all dark is also slow. I like that stuff this is also gold. No doubt

My phone doesn't allow flash notifications when I receive phones calls, texts, messages, notifications, etc. But I did some heavy research and I finally ran across this app which does it. It uses the camera's flash which is BRIGHT AS HELL! The damn thing lights up a whole room if its dark and it will damn near blind u if u, look into the light". Lol. But I love having it and Idk what I'd do w/out it. Thanks to the makers of this app! Will someone please respond back. I just installed this program again and it's not working at all. I set all of the alerts like I like and all. 😢 ⚡👍🏾💪🏾🙏🏾

Love it. Was a NoLED fan for so long until it became no longer available when I upgraded my Moto G4 to Oreo. Needed: silent notifcation, ability to include / exclude apps. I don't use the flash (G4 only has rear, and it could be a bit off putting in company!). Just let this app switch the display on 20 seconds after the notification. Works, suits me perfectly and I love the minimal solution of just using the existing display! I suspect that even if NoLED returned I might not go back. Thanks, well done.

A. G. u. Oct 31, 2018

People are saying that it doesn't work... When it does, you have to have a selfie flash (they are on Motorola's phones). This is because Motorola doesn't feature a notification led like every one else. So this is an alternative to a notification led. If you don't have a selfie flash it won't work. So, stop giving bad ratings and READ THE DESCRIPTION!!

Zoo. W. Oct 26, 2019

I really want to like this app (free/no adds). It works for email/text. But does not work for missed calls or voice mail. The problem may be LG/ATT app Mobile Services Manager. I have LG Phoenix 4 running Oreo 8.1.0. Also I would like variable flash intensity (someone suggested super short flash durations). Also please allow rear flash to flash even when the phone is face up (one could still see the rear flash when face up especially if phone resting or propped on something like a coaster).

This app is fantastic! When I initially bought (my current) phone, I discovered that it did not have not any type of visual notifications for incoming text or emails as my old phone did; after searching the web for something like this app I decided to give it a try and it was precisely what I needed! Great app.

Chr. K. Nov 30, 2019

Less than a few hours after installing, I get a notification (but nothing from this app) stating it's an ”expired version” and I have to update, in order to continue using it. I followed the update link to the play store and there's no update available. Only flashed once, right after opening it for the first time. Very disappointing.

Pet. S. Sep 24, 2021

Excellent app. It deserves stars except there was a rather difficult to find battery management setting that had to be fixed for the app to work properly. Probably not the app's fault, but it took a little looking to make it happen. Otherwise we have nothing but good things to say about the app. Thank you to the developers!

Nic. R. Apr 15, 2022

Very good app. My moto g stylus has a light next to the front camera, but moto software only uses it for a flash for the front camera. It doesnt light up any other time and i can find no settings or info about it. In fact i wouldnt have even known that the light even existed if i want playing around with my camera controls one day and just ran into it. I just find it odd that moto doesnt aknowledge its existance but why? They included the hardware with the phone by design, so why need an app?

Jen. J. Feb 26, 2022

Terrible! It is only compatible with certain Android phones and in my case the front flash was not operational only the flash in the back and it does a person no good if they can't see it so I'm very disappointed in this app!

J. C. Jul 5, 2019

Getting random flashes when there's no apparent notifications. I'm not sure how to fix this. Perhaps one of the apps that you can't switch off is triggering this, but I'm not bright enough to figure it out. I'd rate it higher if I could get those annoying false notifications to stop.

Gre. K. Sep 28, 2019

Really like this app. Front and back flash work great. Very bright! On my Moto X4, however, the service suspend feature does not work. Have it set to suspend between 2200 and 0700, so it does not flash during the night. Still flashes after 10pm. Very annoying. Is this a time zone issue?

Gaz. G. C. Jan 3, 2020

This app is awesome 1: Bcos it uses front flash notification, 2: It works when app is dismissed. @Dev. My phone front light is extremely bright making it hard to look at the phone when notification light is blinking.. can you give options to select flash color for each app? Color like green for WhatsApp, yellow for sms. Etc. Also, instead of sharp flash, let there be a kind of transition, like, it slowly glows and dims.

Jur. P. Dec 12, 2018

Great app. Simple, no ads, less then 1mb. i have no complaints. I needed to restart my phone in order for it to work, when first installed. My phone seems to be very strict with power management though, the app will stop after afew hours. I have dissabled the power management etc but the issue continues. Perhaps someone has some advice?
