Everything in this game is sped up to ridiculous levels. The timer counts down at around twice the normal speed (despite saying it's at the same time), and the fruit is thrown extremely fast at the start compared to the more leisurely Fruit Ninja and Fruit Ninja 2. I really wanted to like this, seeing as how I loved the original Fruit Ninja, but the speed issues make this unplayable. It's like they took the original and set it at 2x to 4x the original speed. Don't waste your money.
I would give a 5 star if it was truly the original game. My favorite part about the real original game was that you had to unlock blades by doing mini achievements and quests. There wasn't a leveling system. I would really really love if they brought the true game back or at least make it an option to switch to.
Great game. Nostalgic gameplay. Unfortunately the in-game timer appears to be programmed in a way that locks it to the display refresh rate. That makes the game so fast it's unplayable on a screen running at 120Hz (Galaxy S22). You can manually lower the phone's refresh rate everytime before launching the game, but it's very much a hassle.
On the pixel 5, when I'm on arcade mode, the fruits move way too fast! I haven't tried it on other game modes but when I switch to battery saver, the fruits move at normal speed. I've played this game on other devices too. I don't know if it has something to do with the smooth display but maybe a fix on this? I noticed another thing on why it goes so fast on the pixel 5. Even the clock goes like 1.5x the speed because of its 90hz. Can this get a fix?!?!
Classic is the only way to go. Simple menu and simple games inside them is pretty good for a refreshing. But if you got bored quickly, I suggest you to download the other version which is free and had lots of games inside it, bur you may have to purchase ad free cost inside the game. This one get rid of it, and hence it was a paid game.
An absolute classic. My teenage years spent a lot of time on this game, competing with my friends. Would give this a 5 stars if not for the broken game speed. It is tied to the framerate so if you have 120hz display or beyond the game will speed up twice as fast.
I just got this since I used to play it as a kid and it's still fun! This game is very good for time wasting aswell, the different modes and new unlockable items make it so the game doesn't get bland or boring after a while, it's very satisfying to get combos and criticals aswell as just chopping the fruit. 5 out of 5 stars
Sadly, not the original game. The fun achievement-based unlock requirements are replaced with a tedious leveling system. Most likely to encourage you to pay more money, as you can buy bundles of XP and in-game currency for 99¢. Very sad to see. The gameplay is there, but this feels like a soulless version of the original game.
Good all time classic. But there's a critical bug where going outside the app via Android gesture controls causes the blade particle effects to stay permanently on the screen. This is far too distracting and makes the game unplayable.
It's nice to be able to have the old Fruit Ninja, but where are the mini games? They were my favorite part of the original game before it's "update". Also, the golden apples, in my opinion, made the game more beautiful and exciting. Sometimes, things are fine the way they are and you DID NOT need to modernize your already wonderful game. I'm keeping this one because it's less annoying than the "updated" version. But, please consider reconstructing the game back to how it was before.
I found a solution to the high-speed fruit glitch. Turn the refresh rate in display settings to standard (most of the times 60fps) and the game works fine. It's bugged at higher refresh rates to where it seems like it's 2x faster than it should be. Overall a very nostalgic and positive experience.
Great game! A lot of reviews say everything moves too fast in the game. This is due to the high refresh rate (120) on newer android devices. To fix it, go to bixby routines and set motion smoothness to standard (60) when fruit ninja is opened, and reverse the action when the app is closed.
The rating would be higher. But the game is speed up to where 1 minute of arcade is now 30 seconds. Even the music and menu are running faster to where it sound incorrect. I cant keep up with the game. My old phone had a 5 star experience. Now I have a new phone and yeah down to 1 star.
I don't typically buy mobile games, but this was far worth it. I really missed the real Fruit Ninja, I still don't know how to get new blades in the other one, but if you played the original Fruit Ninja like I did, here it is, with offline play, no Starfruit, no micro transaction strings attached whatsoever. Hope you have as much fun as I did.
well.. im pretty disqppointed.. maybe i should have seen gameplay? i was expecting the old builds of this game (E.G. when the old music played) i do like this only because the original blades are back. i dont like the leveling up concept. i liked when starfruit was used. maybe bring back the older builds? (P.S. I tried getting an APK of the older builds but it automatically updates so i gave up)
This one indeed feels almost like original Fruit Ninja. Almost... there are still no achievement-based blade and dojo unlocks - everything is level-gated. At least it is not bloated with unnecessary minigames, gardens, point shops and whatever else. Going back to achievemnent-lock IMO would be perfect. "As is" it's at least pretty close to original game (kinda in-between og and modern variant really)...
The game is great. One of the very few mobile games I don't mind to still play. However, on the Galaxy S21, the fruits move much faster than they should if I don't put the phone in power saver mode. Please fix this. I am pretty sure my phone is too fast to allow the game to function correctly.
The only good thing about this is the nostalgia. Biggest let down is it no longer requires achievements to unlock blades. Only level unlocks which takes a lot of the accomplishment out of the game. Do not buy.
Great game overall. Lots of stages and swords to unlock. 3 unique game modes. Fun and relaxing game that's great for casual or long play. Some challenges are difficult, but I still don't find the stressful at all. Highly recommended this game 👍.
It was good when I bought this back in 2013 and it's still good nowadays. Only difference I seem to notice is that there's now an XP system, which I vastly prefer over the achievement based unlocks, which I remember being tedious to get. I might check out the other Fruit Ninja games.
It's a fine game but it does have one big problem... I have the Razer Phone and the game does not support a 120hz display. If I try to play at 120hz, the game runs at double speed and is nearly impossible. I can set my phone to 60hz but it's pretty inconvenient to have to do that for just one game. Please fix this issue and I will change my review to 5 stars.
I used to love Fruit Ninja, but it's a shame I can't play it on my Galaxy S21 Ultra. The fruit goes so fast, I can barely even cut any. The timer also went super quick, like double the speed it's supposed to. I'm guessing this has something to do with the phone running at 120 Hz. I'm sure I could play the game if I put the phone into 60 Hz mode, but I like the buttery smooth 120 Hz.
Battery Power Saving Mode on my Phone Fixed the Game Speed Problem I don't know if it will work for you but I discovered that the game Speed returned to normal by clicking the battery power saving setting on my phone. So if yours is sped up, I suggest trying thar. I hope it works. Giving 4 stars because of all of the glitches, and because ive had to start over 3x now. And the mini games were good. Why did you guys get rid of them? Bring back the mini games and I will give 5 Stars .
The fact that you pay .99 for no ads shouldn't mean that the game play is worse. The time clock is increased in speed as well as the fruit themselves. I will gladly go back to ads to avoid this. Very disappointing.
The free one was infested with ads and then y'all revamped the looks but added loot boxes and pushy "revive" ads. Disgusting that I had to pay anything at all for this one but hey, I had some spare money on my Google Play Wallet and wanted the original experience (read: the one I had before you guys decided to follow the mobile game industry). I would recommend you add just the updated looks to this one (maybe optionally) and fix the fast running issue some people are having.
Game plays at 2x speed on devices with a high refresh rate. My Phone is 144hz and the game is unplayable at this! Turning my refresh rate to 60hz and the game runs fine. This game was developed before the time of high refresh rates, but this issue should have been resolved by now.
Awesome game, really took me back. But there's one thing that is not satisfying, the XP system. It feels good to slash like a madman, but doing the same missions to level up and unlock the blades over and over again is just boring, considering there's only 3 game modes available. So basically it'd be really good if there were some other game modes available (bringing mini games would be awesome) or maybe just some kind of events.
