Due to some limitation, non-UTF8 encoded server might encounter some problems.
But it might block some features if AD can't successfully load.
Some Custom ROM will redirect ad links, please check your / etc / hosts file to prevent blocking ads.

It works beautifully. For those who won't work, I think it because your phone has been set to open the specific file format with specific apps. You need to reset it first.
Very weird comments, a lot depends on how the ftp server configured in the first place. If you have no password just press space and then it let you pass the dialog screen. No luck with avi files, looks like this works best with vlc and mp4, if you have other formats you can easily change the container with media coder without rencoding the file. So far good, simple tool, can have more features but for the purpose its enough. Using it with filazilla server to stream some stuff, so far so good.
Couldn't connect to my server. There is no log or error message where you can see what's going on.
Only FTP client on the PlayStore that can connect & see my directories on my FTP Server using FTPS

Using this app and then streaming with vlc has been flawless. Dedicated navigation and stream apps don't support all file types / codec. Other navigation plus vlc have all been buggy. This solution is basic but does the job. For me that's better than a flashy GUI and poor operation.
I use symlinks a fair bit on my FTP server, and it doesn't seem as though this app supports following them. If that could be fixed, then this and VLC for Android would make for a pretty good home video streaming solution. Other than that, this is a great app. Edit: I have to take points off. As other reviewers have noted, opening directories does not work either.
It will not stream MP4 files on my nexus. Other than that, seems to be the app with easiest video streaming system.
Connects to server, displays files/folders, can't open folders or perform ops on files.
This is no player at all. This tell i can stream music from my ftp server.

Why the app always store file in the phone storage? Add option to save in the sd card and sometimes this app doesn't respond and forced stop itself.

Need to add the ability to select more than one song to play...ie playlist. No improvement for playing multiple files.
If you have add blocker, the app will not work. Beside that, the app is ok.

Unable to access any remote folders, ever time I select a folder, it returns me to my chrooted folder /home /humroben I can only access files that are in my home directory, but not folders

About the only ftp app. that works reliably with my cranky old NAS. top stuff!

Logs in, open folders and start with ads. When downloads file, can't find them nor open. So... Uninstalled
