I use this app to sync photos from a phone that's supposed to run unattended to create a very long timelapse of some plants. Performance of the FTP server is superb, even for rather long directory listings. However, every now and then the server just stops accepting connections. To bring it back to live, I'd have to stop the FTP server, wait for it to come up with a "This app has stopped working" message, force close it and then start it again. If this issue would be fixed, I'd definitely give it 5 stars.
It works well and instantly. I can now access, copy and delete my phone files and folders on the phone SDCard wireless, using any FTP client. Most easy use the windows 8 or higher on board file explorer, or and FTP client you like more on your PC or Mac or Linux. Negative: I can not so quickly switch between phone internal storage and external storage. For this I have to configure the FTP Server again any time when I want to switch.
Works perfectly and instantly, no disconnecting, no annoying error messages. Now I can look at my phone in Total Commander just like it's a drive in the computer (only slower of course :) - but the app does yield the wi-fi maximum of 50 mbit). Update1: After the initial perfect operation however, it eventually started to glitch and even disconnect. Update2: My bad, it was my Android, did the very same thing with a completely different app (http server). Rebooting the phone solved the issue.
This ftp server app works very well. It is easy to set up. My wife has an Android 5.1 phone which has suddenly stopped photo transfer over the USB. It appears access rights have been changed. I have changed photos to be stored in internal memory and ft server has no problem accessing them.
Worth the 0.99$, works like a charm under Windows 10 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S9+. I created a mounted drive link to the phone FTP server under Windows 10 Pro so I don't have to reconnect to it everytime. All I have to do is open the APP and start the server and as soon as I arrive home I have direct access to all my photos and stuff on the phone and can just download them in a few clicks. Have many and settings to root, internal storage, SD card and a custom folder (What I did). *****👌
When I found my phone not connecting with the wire, this was the best solution. I am not saying that FTP and networking are easy, but at least I could back up my files before getting it repaired. I have used this many times since and it works flawlessly.
I loved this app for so long. Used it almost every day to connect my phone to my Windows desktop that doesn't like my phone's USB connection for some reason. But it stopped working with Mobile Hotspot for no reason. Just says to connect to a network now. Thanks for the good times while they lasted!
On my Galaxy J7 (2018) it seems to not be able to download.. It could be with the app or Android Pie. Uploading works perfectly and I absolutely love this app! I've set it up with my S8 to use as cloud storage and easy transfer from devices
Works like a charm! I tap a button to generate FTP info, enter that into my PC's FTP client, and boom, there are my phone's files! No more having to deal with Windows Explorer hanging and crashing!
Excellent app. FTP over USB(Tethering) is so much better than the dumb MTP. It would be great if there is an option to activate the server automatically everytime the app is launched. I am using Tasker to automate stuff. Thanks.
Super easy to use. No frills. Settings are super easy. The phone is visible on any OS (Windows, Mac, Linux). The pay version id only 0.69 euro that's super cheap.
Hello Olive Tree software! I found your app really helpful in transferring data. I would really want to talk to you more about the app and its further uses into a software that I am trying to build. I have mailed you regarding the same as well from my official Email ID Please make sure to check your email mentioned in the developer contact. Really looking forward to your reply. Cheers! From Dash Technologies
Allows me to access my phone from my Lap Top. Does not appear to support the more secure sftp and I was unable to allow access to my external SSD, but I'm sure it must be possible if I keep playing around with it.
Extremely slow to no transfer speeds for some reason. Ran out of patience and installed another app (WiFi FTP Server) and it goes through files like there's no tomorrow. Wasted so much time with it thinking that it's probably my network's fault...
App works great. Highly recommend for simple file transfers such as songs books or pictures.
This is good. One of the very few FTP servers I've tried which easily allows access to the SD card on my fone. Minus one star for displaying username and password on the opening screen.
The app/Interface is quite old, but is really reliable, easy to set up, and easy to use.
Everything works great. Previously I was not able to connect at work, maybe it was some secure wifi there. At home everything works great, changed rating from 1 to 5 ;) Cheers
Simple and useful application. The only downside is that it doesn't implement external storage permission request. I can't use this application after updating from android 5.0.0 to 6.0.0 to access my sdcard. Please implement the necessary permission to access external storage
Could not connect ever! Signed up for help, wont allow me to sign in. Lousy..tried again it won't connect at all...it's just a bad app
Used this for several years and thought it was a great app. Recently however I haven't been able to connect to it. Hope this gets sorted soon.
Great app ( after trying many others. This was the only one that could share my sd card directories and files correctly ) so purchased the Pro version.
This app works exactly like it should. Note that access to the android device via MacOS Finder is READ-ONLY. However, if one uses one of the free FTP utilities like Filezilla for the MacOS system, everything works perfectly.
Worked flawlessly and quickly. I was even able to give it access to only one folder which is perfect.
Best ftp app support both hotspot and wifi Fast connectivity, easy to operate and one can even set a password for the ftp. It can be more better if there is an uploading feature
After connect showing some random folders so i've checked that in config is that content of my sd card should be shown as first but even after restarting it shows just some random folders and none of them from sd card
This app wass the best a few years ago. And it remains the best of its kind today. UI could use a revamp. It's sad because its ugliness (sorry but it's true) doesn't attract users. This app could generate money with a more attractive UI and a bit of marketing... But at least it works, and flawlessly. Ftp Server destroys any competition when it comes to sending files AND folders between Android and any other device. Top notch !
