FTP Server (Demo)

This program allows you to run an ftp server on your android device. This means that any other computer/device can access the files on your android device while the ftp server is running. For example, entering 'ftp://...' in the firefox url bar will allow you to browse the files on your device from a desktop pc or a laptop.
By default, the user name and password are both 'ftp', you should change them. You use this user name and password when accessing the server.

For power and security reasons, it is recommended that the server be stopped after use.

Features:
* Complete and efficient FTP Server
* Implements advanced FTP features like UTF8, MDTM and MFMT
* Implements Bonjour/DNS-SD for easy service discovery
* Anonymous login possible (with restricted rights for security)
* Configuration of chroot directory possible (default sdcard)
* Configuration of port possible (default 2121)
* Possible to keep running while screen off
* Runs on local network, even when tethering (phone is the access point)
* Has public intents to support scripting:
- be.ppareit.swiftp.ACTION_START_FTPSERVER
- be.ppareit.swiftp.ACTION_STOP_FTPSERVER
* Follows Holo interface guidelines, looks good on phone/tablet/tv/...
* Uses notification to remind user that the server is running
* Easy starting/stopping server from settings
* Has widget to ease starting/stopping server

Used to be an amazing app, but now it turns off when screen is off! States that is no longer able to get an IP address. So have to turn off then back on and make sure the screen stays on.

A single toggle for activation, a simple space for userpass. Great open source software.

Replaces transfer of files by cable. No useless bells and whistles. Great tool. Many thanks to the depelopper.

Nautilus in Debian 7 connects well, via secure FTP, to my Galaxy Note II.

Unfortunately, it does not suport the MDTM command to set the proper modification date/time after copying files to the FTP server. This is essential in order for this program to be compatible with backup and sync utilities. Please consider adding this feature ASAP. Thanks!

Simple. Works. Quick. Using a combination of ES Explorer (on Android), this and FileZilla on PCs, I no longer need any cables to transfer files between my phone, tablet and PC. Awesome. Worthy of donation.

I couldn't get my files transferred from my Galaxy S3 to my PC and still preserve the timestamp using Airdroid (which I needed because my USB phone port stopped working). ...until I found this program. Combined with FileZilla on my PC (set to 'Preserve timestamps of transferred files'), it did just what I wanted! Thanks to the developers. David

A nice concept, however I find that when uploading video files to my phone with this app, the video file in some way becomes corrupted and I am unable to either fast forward through the video or it does not play the entire file. Just as a reference: I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 which for whatever reason it was decided to remove UMS capability, therefore I must use the Kies app that creates an ad-hoc web server that allows me to connect to my phone to transfer files among other things. I noticed that when I started using this FTP software to transfer my files, the video would exhibit the issues I described above. These same videos play fine when using the Kies app to transfer them. I'm not sure why but just a heads up in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue.

Corrupts files during transfer on Galaxy S2. Both mpg and jpg.

But doesn't support resuming uploads in most clients. +1 for open source
