Terrible experience using this app: when I transfer photos fron my camera to my phone it stops and shows "connection is lost" message every 1, 2 or 3 images, and need to start all over again. I wish I could use a cable instead of wifi to do that quick transfer.
Apparently I'm the only user that doesn't encounter the issues stated in other reviews. I had one problem in the past which were connectivity issues, but was resolved after I noticed it was user error. I've been using the remote shooting and firmware update functions with ease. This and that being said, this is my personal experience. Camera connected is X100V.
Basically does not work. If you want to connect the camera, you have to delete it from your phone and re add it every time. Once you do, you might get 1 or two pictures to transfer before the app crashes or the connection breaks. And the ones that do transfer can take up to a minute, each. It's absolutely horrible. The year is 2022... What is going on with camera companies.
Very unstable, always "Failed to connect". Tried on GFX50S II and XPro3. Transfering photos is extremely slow and sometimes doesn't even transfer everything. It just says something like "Transfer complete, 0 photo(s) transferred". Those XT3 days never had such issue. The live view shooting is a mess. Once you're in, you can't change mode and every dial on the camera will stop working, including focus. If you want MF, you have to focus BEFORE you go live view. After that, you can't change focus.
Awful, cannot keep a connection more than 1-3 minutes and from time to time either the video feed freezes or the camera completely locks requiring you to pull out the battery to restart it, a real pain when using tripods. Update: 9th May 22, the app somehow is even worse, the camera detects the connection but can never fully connect with the phone, freezing at "Connecting". I would downgrade the 1 star review even further if i could. This makes for an awfull photo shooting experience.
Tough to work with and unintuitive. Setup isn't too bad (only a little more awkward than pairing a Bluetooth keyboard). But actually getting photos off the camera is wonky and often fails. Would really love to see some updates to the UI so it was more clear what each "stage" of the transfer I was in. A speed upgrade would be nice but that may be a camera hardware/wireless protocol issue.
The first time I tried it it worked fine (although it's a bit slow). But since then I can only successfully connect the camera about half the time I try. The other times camera can't be found or the connection is quickly lost. Incredibly frustrating and makes the app basically unusable.
Constant battle just to try and make the app work. And when it does work, it's slow, buggy, and notifies way too much 2022 update: I can't even remember the last time I got the app to work properly. App says there's a firmware update for my camera, so I was optimistic that might fix something. But then app fails to download the firmware 🙄
This flaw and clumsy app stop upgrading my Fujifilm camera because the latest camera is same as its predecessor. It doesn't work as I expected. I have to operate camera and mobile phone simultaneously for several steps to start photo syncing. After the photo syncing, I cannot do anything with my phone and camera. What's I expect, take photo with the camera and sync them to my phone/PC/NAS in background automatically without extra manual operations.
It works for me on my X-T30 II. Connection can be slow to establish but I have not had it drop out. It is useful wherever you would use a remote shutter and, by echoing the camera view on the phone, it helps you confirm that your composition is still good. I would like to see an intervalometer added to take time lapses. That would let the app extend the functionality of the camera..
Repeatedly have issues with this app. One day it works, then you go to use it a week or two later and it doesn't. Very temperamental. Please work on getting this app working more reliably. It really detracts from the experience a lot. Edit: things still have not improved. Really expect better given the price of this product and WiFi being a key selling point.
My God Fujifilm. What a mess. Having to reconnect through 2 seperate menus on my X-T4 over and over is just stupid. One automatic network creation option with a basic pin number to log on with your computer or phone. How hard can it be? Can't rotate the screen when shooting video! This app is just bad. Have one app for camera control & one for image sharing too. We know you can do better Fujifilm.
Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had using ANY app. This app does the remote part... Okay. But you can transfer any photos, you can't update the camera, you can't do anything useful. Fuji needs to update this app or just remove it because it's a waste of time. I'd recommend trying it out then leave an angry review like the rest of us.
The worst app ever!!! How this even happened. The camera itself (x100V) is so great that the app quality is even more shocking and frustrating. Connectivity works at it wants, or does not want to to be precise. The way to connect is so... dumb? Why dont just make it connect to de same Wi-Fi as smart home devices for example? Gosh. It is so, So, SO frustrating! Shame on you!!!
After reading the many negative reviews I was wondering if it was worth the effort. Well this app certainly does what I require of it. It did the firmware update, operates the camera remotely, and the live view works fine too. I am not interested in transferring fotos to my foto so if there is an issue with this I don't give a rat's arse about it. It works for me on a Motorola G7 coupled to an xt-3
Why can't any of the major camera companies come with a competent app? Look at all the tech startups for some guidance. Make it fast, reliable and easy to use. Not 10 steps to connect your camera, with a 50% chance of losing connection or requiring a reconnect, and 1 minute just to transfer 1 photo when it's working properly. It's already easier to use the phone to take a picture, don't make using a camera even more of a chore.
I think I may have finally figured out the trick to get this abomination of an app to transfer images. Do not use Bluetooth under any circumstances. Initiate from your camera (by selecting Wireless Communication in the menu system), then start the app and choose to import images. This has been working reasonably well for me the last few times.
One heavily flawed app. The connection with the camera takes ages to establish every time and is constantly dropping out. All the main functions are slow, unreliable and painful to use. I tried using this app on three different android phones each running a different version of Android (10, 11 & 12), and it worked best with the Pixel 2 on Android 10, but still a headache. It is embarrassing and it cannot be overstated, just how terrible this app is.
As nearly everyone has said before, this app is terrible. Worse yet is that Fujifilm seems determined not to fix it. I've had this app for years and it connects and works properly maybe 10% of the time. The last few months trying to get it to connect for 15-20 min each time and nothing. Or when it does connect it will boot you out halfway through. Mind-blowing that they can let this continue for so long. I guarantee many people have left the Fuji system because of this.
The worst app to ever grace photography. Connection between phone and camera is unreliable, even when they're put side-by-side. Crashes as and when it likes in the middle of transfers, making me have to reselect pictures again right from the start. Slow remote control. UI looks like it's stuck in 2011. What a shame. Great cameras accompanied by a broken app.
Probably one of the worst working app I've ever used. It looks fine and the controls are easy but what's the use? Nothing ever works. The connection gets distributed and one has to go all through the pairing process which is really painful to do on a regular basis. It's an app with so much potential from a trusty company but the problem is, none of it works.
This app is working fine for me on a Pixel 3 XL + Fuji X-T4 on the 1.25 Firmware. Tip: If you have renamed either the phone (in the app), or the camera (on the camera), you have to reset the wireless settings in the camera, and delete the connection from the phone app. Then re-pair. Once paired, I am able to remote trigger the shutter, access the live view, and transfer images from camera to phone. It's not the fastest connection in the world, but it works and it's really convenient for instant transfer from camera -> phone when on the road for a quick social media post.
Really surprised to see that Fujifilm gives a damn about their wireless transfer app. Thought this is a must have in today's world where you'd like to quickly transfer the pictures from the camera to share them with friends and family. Doesn't seem to work with last update probably a year ago. Unnecessary wasting of time. Fujifilm are you listening? A great camera should be accompanied by a quality app.
How has this app gotten worse instead of better? I used to be able to send images from my X-E2 to my Samsung S4 (yes, my old S4) while on the road in India and Pakistan. Fast forward to 2021 and sending photos to my X-Pro3 & X-T3 is an exercise in futility. Multiple re-starts of the camera to connect, images fail to load or the connection drops out half way through. And don't even think about trying to update firmware!
It simply doesn't work. I tried all the troubleshooting steps. I tried with Pixel 6 Pro as well as iPad. This app needs to be re-written completely. It puzzles me how come Fujifilm produces wonderful cameras but a very mediocre app. I can see from the ratings that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.
The absolute f***ing worst app ever: I just lost 500 photos juste trying to transfer 3. The app crashed and then all the photos disappeared. A huge block and then one by one. I couldn't do anything, it happened super fast. And now nothing can bring back all the memories. I hate you with all my heart.
