Exceptional learning tool I don't normally rate apps but I had to write a review for this one. I searched far and wide for an app for kids to learn French and all the other ones are just plain boring. Studycat is engaging, humorous and educational. My 4 year old absolutely loves it, he laughs a lot and he's engaged. Well done for the creators! Will there be a follow up app maybe, one for the next level? It'd be a hit I am sure.
Amazing app with no bugs or any ads and it boosts my French tysm for the app😁
At first I thought this app was too simple, but it's clear that as my daughter (age 7) progresses, so do the complexity of the sentences used in the games. Her comprehension is clearly increasing. Of course this is for true beginners, starting from scratch, and it won't produce fluent speakers by the end, but it will help with comprehension and prepare your child for learning in a more immersive environment.
I like this app a lot. The games are fun and it really is an effective learning tool. The games make the words stick! I won't be using it anymore because I don't want to pay for it.. The language apps should consider joining together with annoying ads (or funny ads like the ones on football games) and make one big app. I like duolingo as well; study at and bubblebath too. Like I said it would be amazing if they all joined together.. and free access would be great.... cartoons?!?
My 4-year-old really enjoys the games and has been learning French vocabulary words quickly. It was so promising, I started the trial for the full version - intending to pay for the annual subscription. Unfortunately, it's so buggy on our tablet (a Google Pixel C) that I can't justify the cost. Very frequently, a game will look frozen and have a strange flashing screen. This seems to happen most often on the activities with a lot of background animation like underwater scenes. I know those sorts of animations are memory-intensive, but the Pixel C's specs (1.9Ghz processor, 3G RAM) are comparable to tablets you can buy today, so our tablet's age shouldn't be the problem.
Very disappointing. Says the word but doesn't write it so can't learn to read french. I am deleting it and going to try another one
My daughter and I absolutely love this app! So much so that I subscribed to it, also the Spanish one. However she doesn't use the spanish one, so I tried to cancel the Spanish subscription before bill cycle but never could reach anyone. I of course got charged and had to call my bank to be reimbursed. In all customer service is none and they aren't very clear on how to cancel the subscription. I eventually found out how to cancel it on my own. Its through Google play under "my subscriptions."
Good points: it is really fun. Especially the colouring which lets the kids mix colours (ie mix red and yellow to get orange) my 4 year old absolutely loves this. My stubbornly anglophone daughter is now saying colours in french (sometimes). Bad points: it's very expensive. Developers need to be paid but reading eggs is 1/3 the price and offers a lot more. There are games which are far too complicated for a 4 year old preschooler - like the candy crush game and spelling french words.
Excellent! My kids learnt fast. Had to subscribe to open more exercises and it's worth it.
We subscribed to this app and started with the 30 day trial. My 6 year old son really enjoyed it so we paid €14.99 for the next month. However, my son said did that the content did not change at all. We also kept getting pop up messages saying that we could get a full subscription for €4.99 or €20 a year. I checked the subscription section to make sure we were logged in, we were. I sent a message to the developers to ask about all of this and got no response. It is a pity.
A wonderful App, and really fantastic for kids to self-teach, if you can afford it, go for it! When the price increased I simply can't afford the full annual price, so now am limited to a tiny amount of the amazing content.
My 4 year old enjoys it. But going off sound alone is fairly difficult and I wish it included written words when words are being spoken to follow along with. But so far the app is good, we'll continue to explore it !
This is just great! I'm not a kid, but I'm still using it and having fun! It's a great way to teach little kids. No ads. It's logical that this app is going to be paid. The developers probably need money for their hard work. Or else they Won't be able to continue bringing more nice apps. People needs to understand this and stop complaining. Even school needs money. Because without money people can't go forward. Though it would be better if price was a bit more low
The interface is easy to use, and the graphics are adorable and easy on the eyes. It would be great if there could be subtitles, so I know what is being said in the games. This will be great for incidental learning of vocabulary too.
Really terrible French learning app. It is not intuitive or responsive. I am deleting it after testing several games and finding all unsatisfactory.
I paid for the full version a few years ago before they updated to charge $20 A MONTH😡. I am VERY disappointed. My kids are in french immersion and they love this app. Will now be sadly uninstalling.
So far my 4 year old loves this app. She's asked me 5 times if she can play it again. I think this will help he maintain her French words over the summer.
I really love this app, I just can't justify spending $15/month on it! If you come up with a one time fee I would be much more willing to consider this.
This app may be good for some pdople but all it did was just say the words as I play the overly easy games the app needs to have more actual learning rather than just hearing the words and it saying "good job you know this now!"
Great app, fun and little one loves it. Sadly the subscription is really expensive (£15/month) so I won't be continuing...
My seven year old loves it as it is fun. He tried Duolingo first, but he didn't really understand it.
Games are fun I was searching for free French apps. I didn't realize it was a paid app after the first two sections.
My daughter loves usiytbis to reinforce her french learning. I wish the cost was a bit lower.
Not free, only a free trial.
I love it so much! I'm 18 and I just decided to study french! It helps me to be more positive in my studying and funny!
After update , the app don't make any sound like it is muted all the time!
Fun way for learning French! It helps me understand this language more and there is no bugs or ads which are great. Five stars
