Needs work. On Android, locks up when manually adjusting and a automated program kicks in. Cannot copy a theme, just have to redo. Was never able to access transformer through home network even tho I could see the transformer was connected to home Wi-Fi network and manually entered the IP it was using.
I have to attempt to connect multiple times for it to work on Android. Lack of options to change system settings. Can't change schedule. No cloud service to allow control when traveling. No smart home integration when most devices these days have Google Assistant & Work with Nest. Lack of updates shows lack of investment in the product and tech. Unacceptable when owned by such a large company. At those point, going with the new outdoor lighting options by Phillips Hue is there better option.
Expensive system - Cheap app For the cost, one would expect to be able to at least schedule timer on the app, but no. Manual. Also cannot control lighting unless on same.network, so not away from home. Hugely disappointed and considering returning lighting.
Love the system but the app is a bummer. The ability to program schedules through the app is absolutely needed. Stability is also a major issue which needs to be fixed...
This is one cool app for zoning and dimming with total control of your landscape lighting system...but needs bugs worked out and ability to use the entire thing. A calendar feature would be great.
Android app needs more control features should be able to change default start color from phone only way is manually at transformer box. Needs some serious updating.
Fixed access issues for Android. Nice to see app have ability to set lights so the color could change randomly.
Lacking Features. Cannot program schedules from app. Seems like a Beta release. Disappointing.
Need to improve connection Always trying to connect on iPhone and Android Fight with trying to connect everytime
The FX Luxor system is by far the most advanced outdoor lighting system available today and just keeps getting better. Home automation is the way of the future and the Luxor is on the cutting edge, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. Keep up the good work Hunter! With the new to Android color palette I have been flooring customers with the Luxor's seemingly endless features. The Luxor display with color fixtures has become the centerpiece of my 29 fixture, multiple manufacturer showcase!
Love the new color feature. The App works better now, and its quite fun setting color themes for my house and garden.
Awesome new features to control colors like on the ios version. You can also create color wheels to have the colors change automatically on th e lights!
Jury out, so far.
Maybe we're all doing it wrong, but the app works fine on iPhone. Barely functional on android. No color options. Names of zones/groups aren't visible. Developer email doesn't work. Contacted Hunter through their website and they said the app "will be updated in the next few weeks." Basically, this is a beta. Certainly not to be relied on. You need an iPhone to configure and control the multicolored lights properly, until they fix this app.
Email is invalid on Google play store. App is horrible. I wish I never bought this light system. App no longer supports color.
I love my outdoor lighting but bugs have to be worked out. I have never been able to log onto the system on the 1st try... it takes several attempts. Frustrating. It would be nice to control the complete system via this app as it only controls the on/off, color, dimming of lights and themes. Will you please add some useful features like setting the timer. I'd be happy to change my review if you take the time to update your system to current tech capabilities.
Edit: Several years later and this app hasn't improved despite updates. Constantly has issues finding the controller when you launch the app. Works better with iOS but is all but unusable with Android. For what the system costs, constantly walking out to the garage to reset the Wi-Fi so it will reconnect is frustrating to say the least, especially since it loses the connection soon thereafter. The Wi-Fi signal is nearly 100% in the garage so what the issue is I have no idea but the home Wi-Fi signal isn't it.
