GA6: Wizard from Tarnath Tor

"Two hundred years ago, the legendary City of Tarnath Tor was destroyed as it’s defenders, the mighty wizards valiantly tried to repel an orcun horde. Now just a place set within stories and myths, it has been lost to the outside world. A chance encounter with one who claims to be a time traveller sends you on a mission to recover some magical artifacts. This search will lead you to great ruins and the dark forces who have made it their home. Who is this wizard from Tarnath Tor and how can you trust him?"

"Gamebook Adventures are fun to read – not just because the RPG mechanic draws you in and engages you in the story, but also because the stories are good fantasy fiction. The artwork is great and there is a great deal of replayability in the application, especially when you consider the hundreds of choices that can be made and the various difficulties."

"After finally making my way through the series’ newest release, I’m somewhat ashamed that I’ve waited so long to take the plunge...the only real question is, “How much longer do I think I can hold out before buying the other five volumes?” The answer: Not very."

Gamebook Adventures 6: The Wizard from Tarnath Tor is the sixth in a series of newly written adventure gamebooks for your mobile device! We are completely original and not simply a re-print of old gamebooks.

What is a Gamebook Adventure?

Gamebook Adventures is brought together through the efforts of passionate and avid gamebook enthusiasts. If you are familiar with the Fighting Fantasy, Sorcery, Lone Wolf or Grail Quest series then Gamebook Adventures will really appeal to you. Our aim is to give those nostalgic readers of old something new and fresh, and bring a new exciting experience to those unfamiliar with gamebooks. If you enjoy fantasy RPGs or adventure games then this is for you!

At their core, all of our gamebooks are compelling adventure stories where you get to choose how the adventure unfolds. Every section of the narrative concludes with choices that you have to make. The choices you make will alter the story, taking you down new paths and giving you new choices.

Occasionally you will be presented with a situation that needs to be resolved with some dice rolling. The gamebook engine lets you throw 3D physics based dice that roll and bounce as if you were tossing them on a tabletop. Roll the dice to resolve combat by pitting your character against a myriad of enemies. Roll the dice to see if you were able to leap the gaping chasm, or pick the shopkeep’s pockets. Roll the dice to see if you won a bet, or caught the plague!

Did you take a wrong turn? Or make some bad dice rolls? Then hopefully you put in a bookmark so that you can go back and try again!

As with all Tin Man Gamebooks and Fighting Fantasy adventures, these are truly magical. You can tell a lot of hard work goes into them. Worth every penny, and even more so now that they've updated the books to the latest engine.

Like the other GBs from this dev, this is a great story! I like how it starts out differently than the others, where you can customize your character's equipment from the start. I felt it was a little easier than some of the other GBs (like 2 or 5). About the dice randomizing someone mentioned - unless you're playing with quick dice, you have a lot of control over what is rolled for yourself and the enemy...if you choose to have that control (e.g., you have a split second before the die falls to toss it again, which is what I do).

Very good, just like the previous ones. However, after I bought the shiel in the begining, my defense doesn't seem to go above 1. Love to see this fixed! Happens on an Asus TF700 with the latest stock firmware.

Bought it but it won't download. "Could not download due to an error (error retrieving information from server. [RPC: AEC: 0])" This is the only one that has done this to me.
