Gainesville Bus Tracker
Created for the Human-Computer Interaction (Spring 2015) class at the University of Florida.
Features:
- Real time bus tracking of Gainesville RTS buses using TransLoc data.
- Ability to search for places of interest.
- Trip/route planning using data provided by the Google Directions API.
Known Issues:
- There is no arrow on bus icons showing which direction the bus is traveling. This has been suggested by multiple people and is definitely needed.
- The bottom slide-up panel can act wacky in rare occasions. I think we've eliminated most of the issues, however.
Notes:
- Thanks for using our app! We hope you enjoy it.
- We make no guarantees when you use this app. We use the official bus tracking data that is provided for free from TransLoc. Sometimes there may be delays or GPS outages that we (and sometimes even TransLoc) cannot control.
- Currently we only support the Gainesville, FL area, but in the future it would be possible to support any TransLoc location.
- We are not actively developing the app right now. Feel free to send us bug reports or requests, but keep in mind that we only make updates in our free time (which is currently very limited).

Works everyday for me, not a single issue yet. Nearly every bus has has shown up exactly when the app said it showed it arriving, and the few times it was slightly behind the app it caught up within one minute. Love this app, 5 stars.
I would give it 5 stars but the black screen bug is annoying as hell. I really wish this app were still in development as it's the best one for this area.
This app worked for a while but now it won't download updated bus info. I am getting a message telling me that the app was made for an older version of android and may not work properly. I guess that's my issue. Is there an updated version?
Sometimes some buses aren't tracked, or they fall off the grid, do you know why that is?

Doesn't work half the time. Almost missed my bus today becuase it wouldn't bring the bus up that I was waiting for. The GPS doesn't work for the older buses, so it reverts back to the published schedule. The problem is that the published schedule is hardly ever right early in the morning or in the summer when there are fewer riders. Buses always come really early on non-time stops. Mine this morning was almost 15 minutes early. The app told me it would be there in 32 minutes and it came 10 minutes later. Thank heaven I know it's not accurate and was at the bus stop 20 minutes ahead of time or I would have missed my bus and my dr's appointment.
It's a great app but for some reason it isnt showing the time for the #1 bus. I need that bus to go everywhere and when i dont know how long it will be before it gets there i end up missing it a lot. Please fix this
Is much smoother than the transloc app. The only missing features are that you can tell which way the bus is traveling, you have to watch it for a second. Besides that, there isn't really easy access to bus schedules which would be nice.
This app has serious issue in their gps button. It sometimes works and sometimes (even though my phone gps is on) it literally do nothing.
Works 9 out of 10 times accurately. Takes a while to boot up but other than that, no real complains.
So much better than the Transloc implementation. It also complies with Android's UI standards. Great stuff.
This the first actually bus tracker to actually work on my phone and have accurate arrival times. Thanks for making this much needed app. ^w^)/

Thank God for this app! We just moved to Gainesville and thanks to this app we were able to see which buses we needed to get on and where they were in real time. Would have been so lost without it!
It's a very good app but not available in ios. Please develop this app in ios also.
It works sometimes. Other times the tracker doesn't even pop up.
Love the print and squares with vibrant colors.

Application looks good, but it will be better if you add feature to change secondary transport (walking) to bike. Like split trip into bike and bus trips and show it as one...
Sloooooow app. Missed my bus more than a few times with this.
I would had given this a 4 star a year ago but now it deserves a 1 star because of the fact that it just doesn't work anymore. It keeps saying "Could not download bus route data. Tap to retry." and I've tapped multiple times but it just keeps saying the same thing. I need this app to get to my college since I would like arrive on time and see where buses are so it would be nice if this app worked again. Hopefully I can find a better one if this doesn't get fixed.
