Sorry if you bought this. I'd advise you go get an Arccos/ShotScope/Garmin or other device that works. I haven't been able to record a round in nearly a year. On the rare occasion the device connects, the Android app crashes as soon as you try to start a round. Repeated requests for support have not been answered or at least not answered with anything but FAQs. I actually don't think anyone works at the company any more or they have sunsetted this device after scamming customers for a few years. Per the response below. I have been in contact with support for months with no resolution. Just a promise that they are working on a new version that should fix the issue. I have been waiting on that version for months. Until then, it is clear they have manufactured a product that does not work and is not supported.
Worked OK for a few rounds. Often difficult to connect to my phone. It would connect if I uninstalled and reinstalled, which is obviously a pain. I got about 8 rounds out of it. 5 of them saved. Now it doesn't connect. Won't upload rounds. The dashboard and other features wouldn't load. I created another account. Now the app won't load up at all. I emailed customer help. That was a joke. There's an automated reply with a link to be told there is an issue uploading rounds. Waste of money and time
***Updated*** I tried. I really did. Once my love tracker stopped working I still used the app. Then the app started acting wonky. Still can't buy a Smart Caddie subscription. The devs did reach out to me and give me a month free promo code, but after that expired I still couldn't purchase a sub. It just takes you to the app installation page in the Play Store. I'm finally done though chat. Time for the uninstall. Moving to the Golfshot app I guess. Sad.
I have had the original and the pro... The original works way better with active tapping than the pro. I can't finish a round without it draining my phone battery completely and 95% of the time it doesn't detect my shots. The pro is great in theory but in practice it just doesn't work and I spend most of my round manually editing each hole so it's correct. Hopefully in a few years they will get it working but it certainly doesn't now.
I've used this device twice now and have had problems both times. The first time it wouldn't connect to my bluetooth. It wasn't until I finished my round that it started working. The second time it worked good for about 6 holes then disconnected suddenly. I didnt realize this until 3 holes later. I've had to go back after the round and fix multiple holes both times. Which takes time. The putting scorekeeping is weird too. Sometimes it puts on too many puts.
started off working great, I have a Samsung s9 plus and my buddy has the s10 plus. We can't connect for a round any longer, the unit refuses to connect to the software and when it does it just thinks and never updates scores or shots. we have both become frustrated to the point of no longer using the system we paid for. We are going to attempt one last time with the new update and if we can't get a smooth experience we will move on to another system.
I bought the Game Golf LIVE thing late last year and the whole thing worked really well. The insights onto my strengths and weaknesses and proper ranging for each club has been invaluable. Unfortunately, an update at the start of 2019 made the bluetooth connectivity really unreliable. Now it just says "medallion offline" and I can't ever get it to sync. I'm forced to tag clubs manually on my phone which is both slow and annoys people I play with. If you can't fix the app, roll it back!
Good when it works but that's not as consistent as it should be. This latest update none none of my shots are syncing from the device to my phone so it is worthless. Before this update when it was syncing it would sometimes get shots messed up and add them to thr wrong hole. All of these issues could be fixed with changes to the app but the last update made the app worse so I won't be holding my breath.
Don't waste your money on the Pro version. The idea is cool but the product is junk. Its very finicky to connect through Bluetooth. If you get past that hurdle, the tags in your clubs won't work and you'll have to manually edit each shot on your phone. Now you're playing on your phone instead of golfing. Pro is dependent on your phone and will drain your battery too. Very dissatisfied. I'll be asking for a refund and if I cant get it, I'll dispute it on my credit card
I used to love this device but now it has so many issues. The device disconnects from the app on a regular basis. It says i have 12 rounds on the device with space for 6 more. I try to download them and it gets to 96% and freezes. I presume these issues are due to updates to the app, so why oh why aren't they fully tested before being put 'live' ? I recommended this device to a good friend I hope he isn't getting the same issues. I've even uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. No difference.
I have over 180 successful rounds with live, but the new Pro just doesn't work. 1 tag will not pair, it misses shots regularly, the medallion disconnects after a few holes and smart caddie comes and goes when it feels like it. The worst part is that there is no support whatsoever, at the moment it is taking them over a week to reply to queries. UPDATE: They replaced the faulty tag and after a few updates to the app and firmware it all seems good. Thanks.
The new game golf pro seems a slight step backwards from the last device just to avoid tagging. Setting up is a real hit and miss affair. The app times out when updating tag firmware meaning you have to repeat the process. There is no progress when a round is being uploaded. Some shots are tagged in strange places and using the putter to tap down pitch marks is detected as a shot.
Have purchased 4, gave one away to a friend, lost one in Ireland and have 2 left. The live has never worked well, trouble connecting and syncing, the original is still hoing strong except it doesn't allow me to change clubs. I usually rotate different clubz but can't now since the software on both windows and an android phone don't allow it. Very frustrated and was always recommending it.
Fantastic app, when it used to work. Around a month ago it stopped uploading/syncing rounds. Between me and my wife we use this on Android and Apple systems and both having the same trouble. A real shame because I can't find another app that is as good to use as this one when it works.
Waste of money. Ordered the new version and was hoping for a good product. Got nothing but the opposite. App doesn't stay active for an entire round (usually 10 or 12 holes). Has to update every time you turn on the device or app! Tag less system misses shots and putts everywhere. Contacted support and to return the product you have to ship to the UK! Eat the shipping costs and lose money for a worthless app & product! Literally flushed $279 down the toilet might give you a better experience!
Game Golf Pro product is total garbage. It's impossible to get it paired and working correctly. Support is not able to help you. I contacted support and it took months to get new tags. The instructions to factory reset the medallion don't work. They need more venture capital just to keep running and responding to customers which yes you we are all guinea pigs. The list goes on. I've given up. Thankfully Arccos appears to be coming out with a competing product.
This is a fun and informative application. The statistics and feedback gives a true reflection of your on course performance. The 'club performance' and 'green approach' sections assists with club gapping, and selection when planning strategy approach shot selection. The 'challenge' component is great to share your rounds and on course performance, and it's a great tool to fact check tall stories and rose coloured memories of friends and family members. It is a great source of truth.
Stay away!!! Horrible/non-existent customer service. If your device happens to work, great. if you have an issue, don't expect any help. I was a backer of the original device on Indiegogo and recently purchased the Pro device. The Pro has failed and they have lied about sending replacements and are now ignoring all communication and not responding to emails. Update: replacement tags showed up 29 days after they claimed they would. They didn't work. Company now is ignoring my emails. STAY AWAY!!!
Device constantly disconnects from the app and only reconnects after re-installing the app, on the very rare occasions it actually stays connected for the time it takes to walk to the first tee, I press "start round" and the app crashes completely. Tried to start round several times but the app kept just crashing, had to give up as my tee time rolled around. Absolutely terrible device and app, no wonder online retailers are trying to practically give them away at reduced prices
