Let me start by saying I've never given a one-star review ever. When I try to view a magazine that I've downloaded to my phone it gives me an error message saying it may misbehave because of display settings. Nowhere can I find how to fix the display setting so I can view the magazine? This is really frustrating. Game informer get it together!

The app is trying to make me pay for issues or subscribe even though I'm already a subscriber. I activated my account per the initial instructions...and was notified it could take up to 24 hours before the subscription is recognized in the app. Almost a week later and still no access. I recently changed mailing addresses, so I've missed 2 months of hard copies... Fortunately I could at least view them via web browser. This app is a waste of memory space on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Can't get the app to recognize my subscription. Troubleshooting advises waiting 24 hours for the info to sync and/or clearing app cache. Tried both, neither worked. If they can't figure out how to get the account login working I have little confidence that the rest of the app is any good either. I give it one star for the attempt though. (*whispers* Just kidding, I gave it one star because I can't give it a lower rating.) If I get help from tech support I will revise my review. Adieu.

This app is one of the worse apps I have ever tried to use. Download the issue and you cannot read it. Does not respond. I am logged in and still nothing. Gamestop needs to stop pushing this until it works like it is supposed to. What is the use of having a subscription from Gamestop for this magazine if you cannot use it.

Sam. S. Feb 20, 2022

Subscribed for a year but upgraded to a new phone 1 month later. Now can't access my first issue or get the new one in the app even though my subscription still shows in the play store. Customer service from both gameinformer and Google play has been pathetic so I've lost my money basically

This app has stability issues and is also unintuitive and confusing for a number of minor reasons. Its pointless to list off all of these reasons here and try to explain them, so instead I'll just ask: "Do the developers with game informer use their own app?" Because this can and should be a lot better.

Myk. T. Feb 10, 2022

The app is ok, but, why there is no support for devices with another screen aspect ratio than 16:9? I'm using Pixel 6 (reference Android device) and see these black edges on the top and bottom... Not the best experience. Please fix this.

I have trouble with this app for years on various devices, it rarely syncs to your account and continually asks you to pay even though you have a subscription. Gameinformer is a great mag with terrible subscription service, and unusable app. The app has not been updated in months, and following the help suggestions simply does not work. Amazing reason to not get rid of print version.

The magazine itself is good. Good articles and reading it works well within the app. The problem is getting to read it. The downloads mostly don't work and if you leave the app they stop completely. The UI on the app also is pretty barebones and terrible. It would be nice to see improvement on that. Again the magazine is good and reading it on my phone works well and looks nice and is easy to go through but the ap itself to get there is pretty terrible.

It's great to access my subscription, but the app itself is very bare-bones. Which would be fine if it worked reliably, which it doesn't. Downloading an issue sometimes doesn't work, battery consumption is very high, and app continues to run in the background once you exit. Make sure to Force Stop each time you exit, or your battery will plummet. With a UI update and some optimizations, this app could be great, but right now it's kind of lacking.

Im updating my rating. it was unusable before the last update but now it works pretty great. however it is misleading when you download an issue. most times the screen flashes and it goes back to saying download. it seems like it didn't work but if you wait a minute and press it again it'll show a higher percentage downloaded and then flash and go back to the original screen again. if that's what you get too just wait it out. it is downloading although it seems like its not. otherwise 5 stars

This app is alright if you have a decent phone. I attempted to get it last year when I had a cheaper phone and I could only get it to occasionally work. Oh and it's only fair to mention that the so called 'cheaper' phone was considered a midrange LG K40 so not technically a cheap phone at all, but anyhow. I upgraded to a Stylo 6 which I suppose is still midrange, but the higher end of midrange, and I've not had any issues out of the app so far. Still, not the most intuitive app I've seen.

It's a really great idea, but the app needs some work. Downloads are very easily interrupted. After the first interruption, I couldn't download anymore. It would also be great if there was an option to read without downloading. Edit: I tried reinstalling it, and it wouldn't let me sign in...

First and foremost the App is incredibly slow, expect to restart it. The app won't download your issues most of the time, expect to select download more than once, and you cannot switch out of the app while downloading or it will just stop. Finally, if you switched from print to digital and need to make a call expect them to tell you your subscription was canceled and you need to reup. Took Screenshot of their websites own system showing i am good until October 2019, the person then said i called to get an answer i knew? When no, i was calling about not being able to download. Nothing but rude CS, the first I couldn't understand so expect to need to be transferred. Worst experience with an app, and then the customer service (if you can call it that) i have ever had to deal with. DO NOT GO DIGITAL, if possible just avoid Game Informer the writers might be nice, but the CS team couldn't care less. And the developers are clearly C grade or not funded as the app won't work well at all for you. User be warned, when it works it's nice to read, but expect that slow clunky, can't download, don't close it while downloading it, and if you need help don't bother.

Very difficult to get issues to download. Download errors out several times before issue will download. If it downloads at all. Not very intuitive. It's almost like there's no support for the app. I'm very disappointed. GI used to be my favorite game publication. Used to be. Again I'm very disappointed and won't be renewing my subscription.

Lui. B. Dec 9, 2020

the worst of the worst. i saw all the bad reviews but told myself, how bad can it be? the answer is very, very bad. it's mind boggling to me how a magazine about video games and technology could possibly be peddling an app that is this broken and atrocious. please heed my warning. if you get a digital subscription, you will eventually need to demand a refund because either you'll never be able to access your subscription or the app will inevitably break. support is useless. can't fix anything.

Sco. R. Feb 23, 2022

Seems outdated. First view when I open the app looks like a website from 2003. Once I realized exactly what the intentions are for this app I understand why the format is so basic. I think this could be part of another Gamestop app and might not need a stand-alone app just for G.I. Keep up the good work!

And. S. Dec 24, 2020

It just does not work. Every month I had troubles making it recognize I have the subscription. Reinstalling the app usually helped (ooh, the hoops we have to jump through!). This time it just does not want to acknowledge the purchase. I think I am done with it. My subscription lasts until July 2021, but I just don't care at this point.

Mat. C. Sep 29, 2020

This app was a big improvement to the physical copies of GI I used to receive in the mail in 2016, at first. A few weeks ago, I moved every file, photo, and app possible from my frequently overheating, cluttered, lagging Galaxy Note 9 internal storage to my quick and clean 256GB Samsung Evo+ microSD card (verified authentic with speed and storage testing), and now every digital issue of GI that I had downloaded is inaccessible. Each issue shows as downloaded but opens to a black screen. Fixes?

Mau. N. Mar 29, 2022

App is horrible. Signed-in, downloaded the current issue but it won't load just shows the Help screen. Please fix!

Gio. W. Jun 11, 2019

This app does not work. I have never, EVER been able to get an issue to download and view it using this app. I return each month in vain hoping some progress was made. Issues fail to download, sitting a 0% without an progress showing even after a 5 minute wait on a wifi connection. Why this is still available to download is beyond me. It makes your magazine seem less reputable.

Tre. O. Oct 20, 2018

Uninstalling then reinstalling doesn't fix the app and linking the account didn't work either because it was already linked. I've read the reviews and did everything that was asked and nothing has changed. This app that's supposed to make it more convenient to access the digital magazine is more of a hassle.

Mic. P. Dec 21, 2019

Looks like a great app at first but you soon find out it is not. You have to keep hitting the download button to see the progress of your current download. And whatever you do DO NOT let your phone lock out or close while downloading or you have to start over. It seems that it takes longer than necessary to download a file that is between 40 to 100 MBs. It took over 8 minutes to get 85% of download then i had to restart so I gave up. Better off to use Chrome browser to read the magazines.

Don. J. P. Jan 12, 2022

Unfathomably terrible. Literally no way to access digital issues with a subscription. This has to be illegal. "Access Denied" when I try to log in? Seriously? Your website is no better. How are you still in business?

Ala. Jan 11, 2019

Everytime I open it I'm greeted with an error saying something went wrong delivering content. Nevermind the fact that the app just started working after not being able to even sign in and when I did, it wanted me to pay for issues when I have the 12 month subscription. This is the worst app I've ever seen! It never works!

Jam. M. Jan 7, 2021

Garbage app. Purchased subscription through app in December and have yet to be able to view Magazines. First wouldn't download any magazine to view, so I cleared cache, reinstalled app, etc.. Now it doesn't recognize I have a subscription and customer service is useless. They asked for acount information over 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back yet.

Spo. G. Mar 1, 2021

Can't even sign into my account which, it's worth mentioning, costs $15/year. My account is verified and my credentials work - I can log in on my laptop no problem. It's just this garbage app that's the issue. Have tried about a dozen times over the course of two weeks to log in, troubleshooting everything reasonable along the way. App always rejects my sign-in information as invalid or non-existent. Even beyond this unforgivable issue, the app seems clunky, poorly designed, and dated.

Jos. B. Oct 31, 2018

It's convenient, to have my magazine on a digital format. It would be even cooler, if they created tags per article and allowed you to view only console related articles, reviews and previews. For example, I own a Switch. If it were possible to filter articles based on selected consoles and only read articles related to the switch...

Sea. M. Nov 5, 2018

Can't log in, on the app or site, even though I literally just updated the password. It's like GameInformer has blocked me somehow. This has been happening for weeks now. I've uninstalled the app ce now, and on the browser side I cleared all data, cookies, everything. Even if they fix my login issues, still a horrible UX.

Jay. L. Jan 28, 2022

Doesn't ever download issues on mobile data. So I get a notification about a new issue and I can't read it until I get home.
