Great app, room for improvement. Would be great if there was an option to edit the encyclopaedia entries to correct/add info/spelling etc. You should also be able to edit your plant ID and add additional pictures from the page displaying it, rather than having to find it again in your plant list to edit it with the pencil icon. Would be great to start seeing some more Australian native species in the encyclopaedia too! Plants should also be sorted by botanical name, common names aren't helpful.
Quite a good app. The GT community people are so helpful to one another and it's really fun sharing ideas with them. As for the app itself, the plant ID function's accuracy is 80/100. It's good but needs more improvements. Another flaw is that it takes some time to load contents (posts, profile, other information) even with good connection. There are times that it says no internet connection despite the optimal internet connection we have. Please fix this and my 5☆ is yours.
Full disclosure I do not have a green thumb and that is why I'm looking for a plant app to give me guidance... This app is not that app for me Sections of things like the profile do not update very quickly so you can end up in a loop as a new user of getting sent to a blank section even though you have added to it The promotion of the paid for option is pretty persistent, I would say annoyingly so, without it it appears that you cannot set "tasks", description suggested that a certain amount of plants (10) would be free but I only added two plants and couldn't view/set any tasks and the notification marker wouldn't go away no matter how many times I clicked it because I didn't want to sign up for the paid for version without a little bit of a demo ... It's a shame as it looks at first glance like a nice app but seems pretty useless without the premium paid for service
I originally downloaded the app to organize tasks and planting of the flowers . But I can't add anything unless i go premium, I can only interact with other users or add photos of plants , + to delete your account you need to send a request, and it takes so long to be accepted . You should mention that in the description * Still waiting for my account to be deleted *
Couldn't properly add plants to my collections despite adding photos to it. Notifications went nutty and buggy. Basic tasks need premium version. Poor app with little social activity. Need plenty of personal info to test out the app. I regretted surrendering my personal details and email to them. That should have been a red flag not to proceed.
Really enjoy the community on this app! Currently experiencing an issue with the app stalling out, at least thats what it feels like on my end. I'll tap the app icon to open the app, and as the app loads I receive 2 notifications that tell me Gardentags is currently running in my device. If I see those 2 notifications, the app will stall out. Every time. When I refer to "stalling out" I mean the app tells me o don't have an internet connection. I've tested my phone to make sure it's connected.
It would not stop sending me push notifications while I was using it, saying that the app was running (obviously, since I was actively using it at the time). I logged in using Facebook and it asked for my name, photo and email address, yet I still had to fill that in afterwards manually (why get the info if you're not going to use it?). Within the first 3 minutes there was an upload issue. Jesus, at least get get an app to work properly before releasing the damn thing.
cool. but could have a private message or just message individuals without having to hash tag or @ then all the time in photos, and to see what peple same about your photos a dot comes up on your profile button so you have to press that then press the top to see who is likeing or commentating on your photos. the apps good keep up the good work BUT NEEDS IMPROVING LOADS
Lots of plants and flowers of course cacti. Getting the app set up in the beginning was a little confusing but, everyone on there is extremly helpful. So far I'm really liking it!
First it crashed when I first ran it. Then when I tried to upload a photo from my Gallery for identification, it flashed out "Unable to upload your image". I tried many times. Same message. My conclusion, this app is junks.
I loved the app initially, but the ID's on my plants keep changing. I own a lot of rare plants that were not in the Encyclopedia, so I added entries myself. However, I would come back a day or two later any the name was changed to a more general one (eg Echeveria "Star Mark" to Echeveria) or the ID was changed entirely and incorrectly. (e.g. Echeveria to Euphorbia) I have hundreds of plants, and I cannot come back every 2-3 days and re-ID the plants. Please fix this...
I like the encyclopedia aspect, but a lot of my plants arent in it and I don't want to spend a ton of time filling out all the information and entering it in. Bigger community, the better the app.
Can't do anything I wanted the app for originally such as fertilising schedule, unless I purchased the premium... Which I might have done if I was able to have a free trial of all features for a short time e.g. a week perhaps, to see if it was exactly what I was looking for
Basically just a social media app for gardeners. You can share pictures of your plants and gardens, look at others' and comment, but any personal care is locked behind premium. The encyclopedia and related pictures are available for free and are actually detailed, but I dont need the social media aspect. Id rather the care than share lol.
Every time I switch pages/sections in the app it gives a notification that the app is running. It is very annoying.
It always take a lot of time to load a single page, after waiting for an ages, finally it says "no internet connection" tho i do have very good connection. @gardentags you better fix this problem or else I've to delete this app for sure.
its wonderful to share pictures and knowledge on this app. as an absolute beginner at gardening, its very encouraging to hear from experts who help in identifying your plants, which in turn helps you care for them better...
It often doesn't load saying no internet connection which is not true because I can browse instagram etc. Very impractical. Please fix the bugs for Android.
Good app in general.Still waiting for access to my account / pages via a web browser on PC. Requested 2 years ago about this, but still not happening yet. For elderly users, mobile apps are often hard to use.
On the tutorial it says you will get 10 free tasts, 1st plant and already asking to buy premium, gonna delete every picture and u can keep your app to yourselves. For an enciclopedia of plants + picture feed I already have google and instagram/facebook, thanks!
I very much enjoy this ap. it's like Facebook for gardeners. My one issue is that the tips and advice are geared to northern climates. I have to make adjustments living in the Caribbean.
I like sharing garden stuff with like minded people. Now I wont have to bore the people on my Facebook page. I am still finding my way within the app and wondering if there is a chart of some kind that is generated from the plant list.
I really like the app. Totally nice people and you get to help out each other alot. I just have one problem because when I go to 'edit my page' and want to edit my name, it just throws me out over and over again. I hope that can be fixed! Also, it would be nice if a feature would be added where you can personally write to each other without having to tag people under other's photos just to text them.
