Garmin Golf

This must be one of the best apps that you can purchase, along with the Garmin Approach S62. The amount of data it collects is amazing and presented in a very simple way to understand. I find it easy to record all your shots, however, if you forget it can be a pain but you can correct after the game - I feel that the watch should have a stronger vibrate to remind you to enter your club. You should also download the Garmin Connect app as this includes all of your none golf data.

This app could be so much better than what it is. First of all and most annoying, is not being able to edit where your approach hit the green/fringe. This makes that the next shot normally is completely wrongly represented, and therefore wrongly added to your stats. Second, the handicap indicator is so wrong. It was indicating I am handicap 0 when my best result in a 9 hole round (not pitch&putt) is 42. Third, it always fails when editing a round, whatever you change, doesn't stay saved.

Full of bugs. Unreliable communication with watch. Crashes cause loss of scores. Any other apps using your bluetooth seem to upset it, but even disabling these doesn't solve the problems. Last update seemed to make things much worse. I now feel I should have stuck with the iGolf app (which is free) and never invested in watch.

Device had issues years back when I bought it with pairing to my android. These issues have been resolved. At the time it seemed like s miracle made the device pair successfully. A few years back I had to use two separate apps the connect and the golf now both can be accessed once in the Connect app. I'm not sure if you still have to download two apps. Once user has figured everything out the device and app are pretty cool, allows you to keep your stats and records score successfully.

Great graphics, easy to use, distances are accurate 99% of the time. No complaints about using it when on course. I juat discovered the swing tempo feature. This put a new spin on my practice on the range. Highly recommend the S62 watch and this app!

Lots of useful information to help the game. Overall very helpful. Not being able to add putts is frustrating if one is missed. It has definitely given me some insight into how to improve.

If you're serious about your golf, this is a must have app in combination with one of the excellent Approach watches (S62 in my case). Needs better integration with sensors to help support the statistics feature. Otherwise, essential for this golfer (12-15 handicap).

Very accurate. Like being to see shots on view of each hole. Sometimes it doesn't register your hit even a great shot with driver. Would like to get a vibration reminder after hit to identify what club you used.

Works good, gives me (new plater) good yardages. Sometimes it gets confusing if you need to go back to another hole during a round, or it auto detects the green too soon. Other thst thst, great gadget for sure.

Brilliant. Use it with my S62 and it's really good at uploading the shots. The editor is easy to use if the watch gets something wrong (which it occasionally does). Really happy with this as a supporting product for the approach range.

I use the approach s12 watch and it is a great and accurate measure for courses. I haven't played a course yet, that it hasn't known the accurate yardage, the hazards, the bunkers, and the front, middle and back of the green. It's really nice not to have to whip out a range finder for every shot, and just look to your wrist.

There has been an issue lately with my home tee hero, I play one round and the app crashes. I've never used an app with this many issues, I am costsntly reinstalling the app and restarting my phone in hopes of getting the app to work properly each time.

Works fine for me, connects smoothly with the watch. Only improvement I would like is to be able to choose BOTH Results strokeplay and Stableford combined. As of now you have to choose between the two.

Good potential, still full of bugs. The features are very good, unfortunately a lot of bugs causing problems when trying to edit scorecards or add putts into it that ends up crashing the app and deleting rounds.

I love reviewing my shots after the game. The yardage did seen a bit off when compared to players in my group with range finders though. Great option to score your stableford points so you don't have to! Generally, great fun to use

Last update has messed up notifications badly. As stated from another user, notification options are limited and you don't see the individual apps anymore. Also, notifications in general just stop going to my watch. I have to re-pair my watch with my phone to get notifications again but that only lasts for about an hour, then no notifications again until I re-pair. Please roll back or fix the issues. I'll update my rating when that happens. Update: Garmin has done a wonderful job fixing the issue that was occurring with application notifications and the app is now working completely as expected. I appreciate their quick turnaround to take feedback and fix the issue.

Some improvements. 1. In the Golf Sim Session review. Add the ability to add or remove a field in the table. The table shows the basic distance and deviation. But it would be great if I could add an additional field so I can look across the data without having to individually click on the row to see. For example club path. 2. While still in the golf sim session review when you click on an individual shot, you get the details, make the shot number button clickable to go to a different shot.

Notifications are not working reliably on my S62 anymore. The watch still functions fine as a golf course management tool, but it's use as a Smart Watch is gone. It's ability to get notifications of any kind works sporadically at best. And on those rare occasions when it does work it is severely limited to a very small subset of applications. Please fix the notifications; restore the Smart Watch features that made the S62 worth the high price tag.

Notifications stopped working! I rely on this to get outlook emails, text messages, and phone calls. Now I get nothing. I noticed outlook and my message app is no longer in the list of apps for notifications. They are still in the Connect app though. Regardless, my watch has become almost useless now for my intended purposes.

Utterly rubbish. Courses don't load on to watch, app doesn't show distances, poor quality graphics. I'm tempted to get rid of watch.

Have used this app for over 15 months. I find it very helpful related to stats on my performance and giving me direction on my focus for game improvement. There is a bit of a learning curve for editing information post round but can input hole results and glean hole info in a timely manner while playing. My device is the Approach S62.

Super glitchy. App stops regularly and is very very frustrating with trying to play a round. Definitely needs updating.

Good, Could be Awesome. The Simulator part of this app could add some features that would take it to another level. #1 priority should be adding native landscape mode to make projecting the image to TVs and projectors more appealing. #2, Let's get online Match play between users added! If this was added, the subscriber base would explode. #3, Some different range-games like target practice or other mini games would be a very much welcomed feature.

This is amazing! I'm a 20 rounds a year golfer. I don't have time to play more. This app is absolutely fantastic. The *ONLY* thing I wish I could do is have it automatically connect to The Grint app. Other than that I am more than pleased with GG app!
