It's a great app. Sadly, it's not updated anymore. I used it religiously on my Samsung GS5. Garmin claims it was because the Bluetooth plugin didn't sell, but as I always tell Garmin reps, it helps to advertise something which Garmin didn't. Even some models of Garmin GPS supported the Bluetooth plugin. But it was so poorly documented.. Didn't sell? Gee what a surprise. But this is a great app and it's too bad. Garmin should release it to the public domain to devs interested it
Although "Written for an earlier version of Android", it does work still on my Galaxy S10+. All features still seem to work for me. It is sad that it has been discontinued... so I gave it away with my car I just sold.
App works fine but says I do not have the cable, also unable to update the cable via the sat nav or the mechanic app. All support for the cable has been taken off the garmin website also
Can't find official cable anywhere, it doesn't connect to my OBD2 scanner. A shame as it looks good.
Garmin App no longer works with the newer Android phones. Too bad Garmin does not update it to fix communication issues.
Not supported anymore. Crashes nonstop on Oreo.
Excellent for figuring stuff out on your vehicle it is basically A must have tool
I'm struggling to change the currency as its currently set to $ and I want to set it to ZAR
App needs to be updated to latest android version.
Garmin does not support their products long enough!
Old app version
This works great for seeing what is going on with my car but it would be awesome if the fuel mileage gauge was a little more accurate (on long freeway drives it can get 10mpg high and lots of town driving it can get 10mpg low) Something that would be very helpful also is an air/fuel gauge.
Well it said I was doing 135mph and traveled 75 miles. In reality I did a max of 40mph and travelled about 3 miles. Talk about useless.
it won't stay connected to the ecoroute hd long enough to use it. didn't when I tried it 2 years ago, nothing has changed imfo.
Adding support for newer pids, adding support for custom pids, vehicle specific pids, would be a nice feature... Missing pid support for fuel level sensors on newer vehicles.
Could not get this app to connect to an older model ( v1.0) ecoRoute module. Tried the latest version of the app and still no luck getting it to work.
If the apps gets put into the background (ex. From changing music, viewing nav app, etc.) it stops working correctly. Please add an option to allow the app to run in the background.
My Samsung Tab + Garmin Mechanic + Garmin Eco Route HD and it supports an extended dashboard on my 2009 Volvo XC70 and my 2008 Volvo C70. It works great. Tons of data that can be used to create multiple of dashboards. I installed a RAM Tablet holders with goosenecks to the passenger seat floor bolts in both vehicles and and it works just fine!
After installing this garbage Bluetooth settings are crashing and I'm unable to pair new devices even after deinstallation
For this application to work you need to install Garmin eco route HD in your car OBD 2 port, that provides correct data reading from your vehicle computer module and give you all information you need to know.
Home mechanics best friend!
Won't stay connected when does work very to much delay and lag
I have a Garmin GPS I have a new iTunes phone and the suffix for Speed free and you gotta pay for it what's up with it fish when it's supposed to be free
It doesn't do a damn thing other than what the car already does
How is it possible to get more than two gauges on the screen at the same time as per your picture? Tried all available menus.
This used to work great but it doesn't work at all with Android 8.0
Desisided to use this app having not used it for a while, but it doesn't stay connected
Getting there. Can you please add data imports matching the exports? Still no import - no wonder Garmin apps are rated lower than four stars.
Excellent App. It worked well until Android evolved and the App lost connectivity with the Garmin Echo HD (the Bluetooth does not find the device anymore) I don't understand why Garmin keeps doing this with their products: they abandon the projects and leave customers with a 100us$ hardware good for nothing 😡 How hard would be to just follow up the Android evolution and update the App?
