GasBuddy: Find Cheap Gas

Personally I'm not comfortable uploading a photo of my driver's license to this app. It doesn't seem like something that would be necessary to do. I've also not found an easy way to turn off push notifications. I'm sure it's available, but the app should be more user friendly when it comes to options. Lastly although I uploaded a profile photo, it still doesn't display even though it said it's successfully uploaded.

Not as good as it used to be. Often price list and map is just white, no text. Please add a gas type of REC90 as this is usually what I buy and it is hard to find and price varies considerably. My favorites didn't work when I was out looking for gas but once I logged in from my PC the app shows my favorites. It may not work next time. No point in having the app if I have to log into my PC to get favorites to work.

It appears that there is a bug... As described by many people here. From time to time, after opening the app, the prices for gas stations disappear, and my screen turns completely yellow, covers the entire screen, the only way to get back to gas prices is to close out the app and restart, which is very annoying.

I went to the websites trip planner and it told me exactly what stops I would need to make to save the most money and had them plotted on a map. There was no way to send this map info to my phone, but they had a link to this app on the bottom of the screen, which would indicate the same capability. That would be inaccurate at best. There is no way to plan a trip and get a map to one of a few selected gas stations.... instead you get every single gas station on the route. That makes this app useless for actual trip planning. There also seems to be no way to add in way points. If the app had the same functionality as the trip planner on the website with the added benefit of gps to go with.. that'd be perfect.. Since that's explicitly what I was looking for.. this app aint it.

I find this app quite helpful with just finding the cheapest gas in and around my area. Others seem to have a problem with full screen ads that slowing creep up their screen with no x to make it go away. I have not experienced that. Overall the app has worked for me. If I were to travel far though I agree it would be good for the app to have a thing where it shows stations along your route.

Not sure if I missed it somewhere, but I don't see prices by payment method. For example, it may say 3.95 in the app, but when I arrive at the station that's the cash price, not the credit price. This is an issue because not all stations add the same amount to credit prices, and some don't add anything. So an app that's supposed to find lowest prices might actually send someone to the wrong place (thus using more gas, and possibly passimg one or more stations that were cheaper on the way).

The concept of this app is best for people who drive long distances in unfamiliar areas, as one doesn't know where the best prices are but has a lot of options to stop. Unfortunately, it has major problems with loading longer drives and loading in anything but perfect service. If it takes too long to load the request will fail, and that can sometimes be any drive longer than a half hour. Allowing it to load for longer or increasing speeds would grant 5 stars.

It would help if this was linked to navigation apps such as WAZE. Trying to stay on your route & checking gas prices is cumbersome & inefficient. Also, being able to to see only stations in your direction of travel rather than 360 would greatly simplify the process. Customer service is essentially non-existent. They rarely answer the phone. The menu is designed not to direct you to a real person. Every so often the app doesn't automatically log you in, instead it asks you to create a new acc/p

Great concept but...... There is a huge bug that renders the app unusable most of the time. The advertisement that starts at the bottom of the screen slowly climbs up the screen leaving nothing but a white screen below. The only way to get past this is to fully close the app and restart. Then you only have a few minutes before it happens again. I do hope the developers fix this because I would use it every day. PS: I'm using a Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra.

Gas buddy was pretty good, I used it years ago. With the higher prices I've been using it again, but there is a BMW ad that keeps sweeping up from the bottom of the screen, and it turns the screen blank. Lucky to get 20-30 seconds before having to close app and restarting, but it just repeats the process for that BMW ad. I'm uninstalling the app and will try just a browser connection. I maybe would have paid $5-10 to remove ads, but this sweeping the screen clear is so irritating I will skip

Tried the app for the first time and couldn't even get gas prices and stations near me. It told me "No results available". After that; I was bombarded with ads, and once you're in the app it doesn't allow you to exit the stupid ad. This is annoying. The same thing has been happening to me on the FM Radio station app. The answer is, uninstall the app and look for one better. No need to add more headaches to our lives which are already full of it. Don't bother with this app.

Great for seeing the best gas pricing but It has features that don't even work properly. Enter your vehicle details for why? It is so general that the results are useless. Better filters would be nice. What would be great is if you could enter your vehicle and it would calculate what the cost to travel would be. My boating app can do it. I don't expect 100% accuracy but it's kinda nice to have a budget. Also it could help people plan and adjust their driving habits.

It generally works well, but since the recent hike in gas prices, the app seems to be on overload or something. It just doesn't load. Or if it does, it works momentarily then stops working and just goes blank. Not to mention, some prices are inaccurate. I went to a station yesterday that price supposedly updated a few hours earlier to find gas station under construction, and there were no pumps.

It helps to find gas nearby and away for cheap rates. One negative for me, and quite possibly the biggest one is connecting accounts. Since I only use chime as a banking app it won't allow me to create a gas account using chime, which defeats the purpose of me earning points. I wish you could set it up without needing to have a bank account. Another is the UI. Sometimes the buttons to access certaint features disappear because of the ads that display at the bottom forcing me to close the app.

Time waster. Glitchy. Annoying ads. Used this app every day for 4 years and was #1 on all the leader boards. Reported maximum number of prices per day and completed every challenge for bonus points. For several months I submitted entries daily, then I decided to save them up. I accumulated 614 entries and submitted them all at once. Never was a winner! Don't waste your time. Simplify your life, save money and just go to Costco or Maverick.

There is a new bug that practically makes the app unusable. The add slowly moves from the bottom of the screen to the top, taking up the entire screen and there is no X to close the add. Have to force shutdown the app and then you only have a short time before it happens again. S22 Ultra

Opened it up to sign in and enter gas prices. We left the city and it was still trying to find nearby stations. Opened the map when next to a station and that station wasn't on the map. Not impressed with his app. Uninstalled/Re-installed it, just to get (when opening the app) "problem connecting to our servers. Please try again".

This app used to be great but they aren't screening for incorrect prices anymore. In the last month I have gotten more incorrect prices than correct prices, every one of them lower than reality, some by as much as 30 cents/gallon. Some of them were fresh, even under half an hour. Used to have accurate prices but if they aren't going to screen prices or maybe stop people from posting if they've had too many wrong prices it's not useful to me. Software does work well though so not 1 star.

Buggy.... Uninstalled. As described by many people here. You can only use it for a few seconds before a blank page covers the entire screen and you can't get out of it. The only way to get out is to get out of the app and come back in. Then the same thing happens again after a few seconds. That makes the app useless unfortunately.

This app uses an intrusive advertising system which draws over the entire screen even while the app has not been in use for several hours. I believe this is a violation of Google's terms. The ad showed full-screen while I was idle in another app. I am willing to provide proof of this claim, but the best way to find out is to install the app yourself.

The base functionality of the app is fantastic but the problem with the app is that it regularly covers itself with full screen ads which are completely unremovable until you restart the app. It gets very annoying very quickly when I'm trying to search my area for a station and a car ad that I can't get rid of covers the entire screen.

App works well. Generally GB is a useful site. But sometimes prices, as reported within the past hour, are wrong (the actual is higher, almost never lower). This seems to happen with specific stations. When I contacted GB about this they responded but didn't seemed concerned. I suggest you don't go far to take advantage of an unusually good price posted on the site.

The concept is nice but the actual app is trash. A lot of the times the prices are incorrect. I use premium gas so there's usually not a price on that at all up there. And there's a bug on it that uses a white screen to cover the regular screen and the only way you can go back to what you were doing is to close out the entire app and start over. Honestly I'd rather just pay for higher gas at this point.

Horrible, junk popping up frequently, unable to turn it off, while driving. Too long to retrieve prices quick, because of all the adds in the app. When, it 1st came out was quick and simple. Link for favs small, hard to find. App, getting worse instead of better. Will look for the competition.
