I was forced to get this app by my apartment complex. And it's terribly inconvenient to use. I have to go through my apps and find the app and press the button. It's just a hassle, no widget support which I would prefer. But, I saw that Google assistant was supported but I see no setting or option to even use it. I guess I'll have to keep fumbling with my phone as a line forms behind me.
Pretty user friendly. The setup instructions said it needed Bluetooth enabled but that doesn't seem to be the case. Two minor features would make it perfect: 1. Ability to customize the message that your guest receives when sending a one time code (since it doesn't send from the user's number) 2. A widget/shortcut that places a button on the home screen for one-click gate opening. Or voice command.
Almost daily the app says "No internet connection," even while streaming music and chatting with Gatewise via their app (so there is a connection). More than once I've been told it was a "power outage," yet today there was none (and definitely no daily power outages). The app is slow to respond and slow to connect. The app also disables power save on my phone (screen stays on). I only keep it because it's required at my apartment complex (don't think the download numbers mean people love it).
This app is horrible. My apartment complex is switching over to it. I cannot get pass the initial phone verification part because I keep getting an error message. Not to mention how dumb the whole idea of it is. I now have to unlock my phone, open the app, and press the gate button all while OPERATING A VEHICLE. It is insane! Before, I would just press the small key fob on my keys. I have a brand new phone, I love tech but this is an issue. EDIT I had already contacted support email and had not heard back...
Absolutely the worst idea ever! My complex went to this app only to open our gates. So now instead of reaching for a simple key fob and pressing a button, you have to find your phone, unlock the phone, open the app then press the gait button to open said gait. This is all while exiting a busy interstate onto the service road that has a merge lane with another busy road. This is not a safe idea! I hate the idea so much I'm considering not renewing my lease.
This app is slow and clunky. The website claims that it works with Google Assistant and it doesn't, claims it has a Smart Widget so you don't have to open the App but their support have no clue about this. This is a very small step up for my complex but this company has a lot of false advertisement of features. You can't list a feature that you are still trying to get working.
Works, but greatly limited. I would need to enter my security code to open my phone, open the app, wait for the app to load (slow), hope I have internet, and then open the gate. It would be nice if this app would run in the background via notifications with the gate button, so I can quickly push the gate button without having to open the app or sign into my phone with my security code every single time. It would save a lot of time. In it's current form, it is inconvenient.
The widget needs to be better optimized to open the gate, rather than just opening the app to then open the gate, not to mention the widget has no reason to be 2x1 the widget should be a 1x1 app and open the gate when pressed, not just open the app then to open the gate. Additionally dev could create a drop down menu button for convenience.
It happened again, but they were on it right away withoutme having to contact them. It's a great and convenient app overall. So come to find out, my issue wasn't with the app at all, it was the leasing office who put my number in wrong. Sorry for the poor review. Smh. Took them a week to respond the first time, finally get it fixed and now it's doing the EXACT SAME THING AGAIN!! So aggravated with this app, man. Smh. No excuse this time.
The November 8, 2021, update and "What's New" page says Google Assistant is supported. It's not. It's incredibly inconvenient to use this app while driving and Siri has been supported in the iOS version for months. There is no excuse for this.
For an app that is supposed to be used in a car, there is no Android Auto compatibility. I tried emailing the company to support that feature, but no response. This app as of right now is extremely inconvenient, and is worse than using a clicker.
This app had been working fine since they first assigned it to us. Now all of a sudden the open button on the screen does not appear so I can't open the gate at all. Very frustrating, I've deleted the app and reinstalled it and still no open button. My children also live in the apartment complex and they have no problems getting in, so what's the problem?
Very frustrated with this app loosing the gate Icons. It's now been three days since I can use this to get into my complex. Reinstalling the app used to work to recover icons, but no longer. There's no known solution & some other people's app still work. A troubleshooter would be nice & replies to these postings with solutions /work arounds could be helpful.
Only works part of the time...Many times I come home from work and try multiple times to open the front and back gates with this app, and it only works 4 out of 10 times...very frustrating, especially when you're tired and just want to get inside to your apartment.
Since day 1 nothing but problems with this app. All is does is refresh. I have uninstalled it install it over and over again, and never works. Called office no help there, sent email, no answers either.
This is horrible the app doesn't work at all my number is registered with my apartment complex and it still giving me an error message have had a rest done, re-downloaded app and it still doesn't work. They just need to go back to gate codes because this is horrible.
Defective. Good thing I still have the physical remote as backup or I'd be waiting at least 10 more minutes to do what this badly programmed app can't do. Should be reviewed by Google for possible exclusion.
Sometimes the app does not work to open the gate,and then we have a pile up of cars honking. Ppl at the apt complete have never been more rude, yelling, honking, aggressive engine revving. The app takes too long to load and unlocl because you have to turn on your bluetooth, the gps, then app, then select correct gate, then wait for annoyingly long and loud beep. We don't Need to hear a beep to know it's open, we can see, or we wouldn't be out driving.there is an option for GiFs w/tech: dumb.
Zero stars. This is ridiculous. It took TWENTY MINUTES for me to get inside the gate after requesting access from every corner of the front parking lot. App guy told me to get really close to the gate. I already had my license plate INCHES away from the bars of the gate!!! What a horrible idea someone bought off on!!!
Ok so my 1st review wasn't the best, it was back in 2019, I had a lot of issues with it. But I will say it has gotten a lot better! I have had no issues other than bad drivers running into the gate and breaking it lol.
It doesn't work and support is severely lacking. The apartments probably bought the cheapest gate system they could find. The app also looks like someones high school project and does not give me confidence that it's coded properly.
Bad just bad . It often doesn't load and when it does it says something went wrong and won't open the dang gate . I get home at 5:30am and am stuck outside the dang gate 100ft from my apartment . Waiting for someone by chance to drive up and open it . Come on I hate this ! Shut this app down !! Pay attention to your reviews !! Its not working !!!
It works.. However.. It's very limited. The loud beep hurts my ears... I wish there was an easier way to activate the gate opener when driving... Right now.. I have to look through apps.. And then hit a second button... And wait for that God aweful beep.
This app is unreliable. Has a chat feature that doest work. I keep getting stuck outside my apartment and noone can help..reinstall doesn't resolve the issue...smh horrible 😑
This is not it. I was stuck outside because it said I had no Bluetooth connection or internet connection when I was connected to both. Works when it wants to
Apartment complex requires this. From time to time it won't connect so there's no way to get the entrance gates open. Occurs even when I have internet connectivity. To avoid searching thru apps, place on the bottom row (Android) so it appears on every screen. If your phone battery does, you break the screen, etc., you're screwed and can't gain entry.
