Gator Dash Cam

I have just set up the dashcam and installer the app. Photos taken by hand gesture or by tapping the white button on the app are nowhere to be seen. The only photos that turn up in the gallery are ones taking while reviewing video, by tapping the camera icon. Likewise, videos don't show up in the gallery until you download them (which is not what it says in the instruction booklet). What it needs is for all photos and videos to show up in the gallery.

App does not work on Android 9 phone. The phone connects to the camera but the app still displays the "pair" button and the green light doesn't appear. Another user's suggestion was to turn on location services ... This does allow progressing past the pairing button but it shows a photo of another device and won't allow access to the camera's features. Need to rate as 0 stars.

Idk how you make a $290 product and have an app that doesn't work, it feels like I brought a $2 dash cam off wish. It connects but there's no data transfer, cannot view photos, videos or the gps data can't even watch the live feed. The cameras themselves work but the app is just rubbish, it's not worth the time don't even download it.

Recording volume is too quiet. Playback on my PC needs volume turned way up to hear anything. Can't change GPS from mph to kmh Stand alone Cam will show set to kmh. Connect the GPS and screen shows mph even when current settings STILL show it set to kmh. Support ticket is a waste of time as they seem to have no clue. AND it takes days and days for them to respond each time. Recommend people stick a crowbar in their wallets and spend more to buy a better Cam in the first place.

Connected automatically iphone 6, but android moto g7 have to turn on airplane mode first, then connect it manually via the app every time I go anywhere. Of course the phone is useless until I switch off plane mode at the end of the trip. It does film great and uploads ok.

Too pricey for a piece of garbage! Backing broke making it impossible to stay put, 1wk after warranty finished! Software is awful! Turn it on, its suddenly in Chinese instead of english! At other times, it wont load or itll load & film upside down!! Or just wont work at all & i have restart my phone from scratch. Waste of money, i can buy cheaper with some stability & wont break as fast.

The optional GPS function does not work. I have sent unit to support for testing and received a new GPS module. I cant find any information or screenshotz of the GPS functionality. I have been trying to resolve this issue now for over 8 weeks. Be warned if you purchase the optional GPS cable you will be wasting your money like I have.

**Edited 5/12/18** If you are having issues connecting the camera to the app, make sure your location services are turned on. App works perfectly when location is on. **Original** App can't even connect to the dashcam running the latest version... Good dashcam but the software is disappointing

Great dash cam, real shame the app has left me wishing I had brought something else. Doesn't register the unit, constantly bringing up the 72 and I have the 82 installed. Really need to fix the mistakes in the app before they can truly say it is a market leader

Shocking App! When l try to "pair" absolutely nothing happens. Just a circle keeps going around trying to load. if anyone has any information how to connect pleaee let me know as my date and time is way off and l cannot change it

Useless app which makes the product useless. Even with the latest update, it works on 1 phone out of 4 tested. Latest phones. All Android. Now pops up with an error "Unknown", which is very helpful. Returning the product back to the shop.

This app does not work. Very disappointing. Having the location services turned on on the mobile device makes no difference to the connection and operation of the app.

Absolutely horrible. I can no longer connect and pair with the camera. Now everytime I need to save footage, I have to do it via the SD card. Such an inconvenience!

Useless, does not pair with camera once it is connected via wifi. The camera itself is great but it's a real shame that at the moment, the app is useless. I anticipate an update soon.

bought today on sale SCA! wiring long enough, work perfectly fine! excellent quality! love it for wave hand option. seems to save videos without a skip, 3 min loop. for app to work properly use airplane mode with wifi and location on

After reading other reviews, I didnt know what to expect re the app. I tried on my Galaxy s9+,...nope. I tried on 2 other devices in my home.... nope, But then I tried an old Galaxy Tab A and it worked and worked great. So 5 stars for the cam, 5 for the "working app" , but 1 for the "non working app" based on having to try 4 different devices to get it to work.

hi i have a pixel 3xl. in the app it will connect to wifi but wont connect phone to camera. have uninstalled a few times no luck. hubby has a samsung and connects no problem. disappointed as i need it to connect to my phone as it is in my car.

Connects reasonably reliably to my dash cam, but my partner's identical cam can't connect at all. Tried restarting the app, my phone, and reinstalling. No luck. Please fix!!

Dash cam works fine. And records and saves. But then i want to download it too phone. NOPE says it is downloading to phone but nowhere to be found. I check in the app under gallery where its supposed to be after saving aaaaaand its empty...if can help me figure out why happy to upgrade rating.

Could be that I'm one of the lucky ones, but the app has worked perfect for me. Connects and reconnects everytime and does what it is supposed to do 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Excellent experience with Gator app. Have now installed three Gator GHDVR82W in my family's cars and have had no difficulty pairing them with our phones; Huawei Mate 9, Oneplus 5 and Oneplus 6. The app works well and we use it with confidence.

Will not reconnect after power cycled, only way that I have a chance is to uninstall the app and reinstall it and even then it is hit and miss. I have tried to use a TCL Plex and a A70 and both have the same issue

When you access your downloaded videos from the cam and press the share tab, something other is supposed to happen instead of crashing to the app homescreen, but i am no expert on this.

App doesn't work well at all, doesn't connect properly thru the Wi-Fi. Camera footage is great but since the app update I can't access my footage

Does not connect to Wi Fi, with 4G mobile data ON. Disable 4 G or turn aeroplan mode ON. To make it work. Took me a while to figure this, hope this will help some one else having the same issues.

i have a Samsung note 9. the app is not working. it wil not register that it is paired to my camera. it connects to wifi network but does not show anything else. i spent $200 on this camera and cant even use it because the app isnt working. please fix asap

Clips don't load! Had no issues with the app for a while but I haven't been able to load any footage for months now.

Absolute garbage app. All the Gator apps are essentially unusable and better off getting an SD card reader for your computer.

This app tells me its downloading captured videos to my samsung phone however it doesen't. The only alternative is to manually remove the SD card and copy the video with another device.

Very poor app that crashes all the time, especially when you try to share or save videos. FIX IT!
