Gauntlet
Bring back a little bit of the 1980's nostalgia gaming with this Gauntlet clone, hack and slash your way though 60+ levels(so far more coming) of warrant mayhem and destruction.
Take the lead of one of the main characters Warrior (Thor), Valkyrie (Thyra), Wizard (Merlin) or Elf (Questor) and pick your wits against ghost, grunt, demon and others, it's your turn to remember what gaming was all about in that classic time period.
Further Notes:
With version(1.24+) you now have a brand new control system, you can select (Joystick(default)/Touchpad) from the Main Menu settings, the control settings are still there allowing you the option to move and fire at the same time, change the control in the main settings menu from classic(default) to modern.Every few weeks I release new content this may or may not be rebalancing of the game in some way( hero/monsters) and new maps.

I was super excited to see this game available as it brought back nostalgiac memories. After diving in iI realized its missing components I remembered and was looking forward too. 1st and most important is the upgrade potions. Please get the upgrades and thief in here. Its not gauntlet without them. I also miss the narrator and voice reactions, but can live without them. Id give 5 stars if you get the upgrade potions in and make this multiplayer (online), and Id pay extra for it no doubt.
Back to the 80s with this classic. Excellent version for mobile. Keeps true to the feel of the original, except I dont have to fill up a machine with 10p pieces! Would be nice to add the voice overs like 'Elf needs food badly'. And the voices of characters as they battle.
Uninstalled after 10 minutes. Controls just don't work well/buggy. Tried changing what little options that are available, no help. Also, I just stood in a room getting attacked by 50 or so mobs and it took FOREVER for me to die...lol. No way to leave the game to get to the settings enless you die or restart the app.
So happy to finally see this in the play store! Thank you for replying to my review. I don't use any xbox or ps controllers. Just the on screen touch screen controls, so I have no idea how those affect performance.
It's does a decent job at replicating the look of the game but the onscreen direction pad is no substitute for a joystick. You should change it to click to move so the player can just click on where they want to go.
Very accurate reproduction of the arcade Gauntlet video game. If I was going to improve it I would allow networked multi-player and Bluetooth controller capability. EDIT- It now supports Bluetooth controllers, rock on!
I am so happy I found one of my childhood favorite games available on mobile. My only gripe is the controls are terrible, so you might want to purchase a Bluetooth controller or something to help. Other than that, I love it.
I would FOR SURE give this a 5 ☆ but the watch for health bonus option upon starting a new level. It doesn't load the add that you have to sit through for the bonus. It closes the app after freezing... Using a Samsung galaxy s10+
2 stars for concept, my all time favorite game. Unfortunately it didn't let me destroy spawn bases, die, and movement controls were difficult. Hopefully this can be fixed and will give retry.
The classic controls are a little awkward for me to handle & the shoot button goes inactive from time to time during play, but other than that, I'm enjoying the game so far.
Good port, retains the original sound and feel with controls as good as possible for a touch screen. Update: Thanks for adding a pause function!
Ahh yes this takes me back! Well done this is faithful to the original and works quite well on android. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Some people hating on this, they need to grow up. you're charging pennies for a great game that a huge amount of work has gone into.
Fun game, but the D pad is very unresponsive, difficult to aim your character where to go. Edit- no I am not playing on a controller, just my phone screen
Looks good but... Seems to think I have a controller and therefore I can't play it. Edit, I dont have a controller and I have Bluetooth off.
Love this retro arcade game. Spent hours, and a small fortune playing it in the arcade back in the day. Will you be releasing Gauntlet 2 any time soon?

Needs to stop rocks thrown from lobbers from 'freezing' on screen. How about adding a Bluetooth option, so that friends can join in?
Such a shame, so many memories of this game. The controls like everyone has said are sticky. Unfortunately you cant beat the original and joystick.

Controls are OK just a little tricky to get used to but overall a great conversion took me back to 1985 standing in arcades with my 10p :)

Unable to play on my note 10. Impossible to aim with any char. Can move around freely just can't aim. IA their a fix for this or ca I get a refund.
Great nostalgia trip. Worth is for £1.19. A little disappointed that you don't die, makes it too easy.
I absolutely love gauntlet growing up and I'm pleased to have something similar as an app. It is wonderful to play, and im struggling how I remembered 😂
I like the game, a lot. But there are so many flaws. Touch zones are off and i have to tap around for menu buttons and selections to work. No way to hit back, or exit a level to menu. Also, according to the app store this contains ads, which is weird because its paid only.
