Gazette Radio

Phuket Gazette Radio is the famed resort island's local community station, now taken across the globe through the internet. We're focused on local island news, but do not overlook the stories that affect us from elsewhere in Thailand, Asia or the world. But we're not all talk radio; we're also dedicated to introducing listeners to new music from a broad range of genres, from the coolest jazz and blues, to beach music and the sounds of new artists, and on to a bit of the hottest rock, pop and even classical that many local stations fear to play.
Our weekday news schedules are headlined by Voice of America's 'World News' reports and 'International Edition', while our flagship show, 'The News Room', takes you deep inside the local news, issues and events that matter here, and delivers the important world stories that our cosmopolitan residents and huge numbers of foreign tourists need to know.

The musical elements of Gazette Radio are provided by 'The Late Late Breakfast Show' and 'Voice of the Lizard'. The former features Top 40 hits and hot 80s and 90s tunes, while the latter takes us on a tour of the European Lounge and Club scene.

Record label 'Hitman Jazz' works with Gazette Radio to bring you the latest international tunes available around Asia, and our 'Beach Lounge' features some of the coolest Nu Jazz and Lounge music.

Weekends on Gazette Radio focus on in-depth international reports from award-winning radio broadcasters, such as 'World Link' and 'Inside Europe' from Deutsche Welle and 'Reveal' by the Center for Investigative Reporting.

Be inspired by the stories of the world's leading thinkers and idealists on shows such as 'Harvesting Happiness' and 'Humankind'.

'Science Sundays' – part of Gazette Radio's commitment to educational broadcasting – brings you Bill Nye the Science Guy's 'Planetary Radio', exploring man's achievements beyond our atmosphere, and Deutsche Welle's 'Living Planet' looks at how we can make our world a better place.

Find out about the latest reads with Dr WF Strong's 'Good Books' and Kristen Dreyer Kramer's 'Shelf Discovery'. Kristin also presents the latest movie reviews in 'Reel Discovery'.

Finally, we know that many of our expat listeners want to learn to Thai, and to assist with that we offer a bit of comedy and education in 'Random Thai', featuring a courageous Ajarn Sorngaeng and her 'special needs' student Farang Kee Nok.

Listen to Gazette Radio – the station with a difference. We promise you the drift of Phuket, along with a dash of the ridiculous.
