Good emulator, probably the best free one out or at least for mobile devices. Can run everything well and seems to never have any issues there. The adds are annoying but often instantly skippable or within 5 seconds. The speed up feature needs more customisable speeds as it can only be 2, 4, 8, and 16 times personally I would love a x3 option. You also have to open each game by file unless last played, your save data is still stored so don't worry.
All in all, a solid emulator. Very user friendly startup. Doesn't require any file scouring to find the zip files. However, I have a few complaints regarding controls. The button deadzones can be unclear at times, causing misinputs or no input at all. Another thing is the inability to move the save/load/fastforward/menu buttons from the top of the screen. This has lead to me reloading previous save points unintentionally, undoing chunks if progress. Other than the aforementioned, great emulator.
This is a great emulator. It runs GBA games perfectly on my device and even comes with "remote games" that you can download on the app. There are ads, but they only appear in the game selection menu, and thankfully not in the middle of playing a game.
Really simple and easy to use but audio at certain frequencies crackles really badly. Also when I have it in horizontal display the pixels get blurry. Other than that it would be nice if the on screen buttons disappeared when you are using a gamepad. It works fine. Edit: exit should not be mapped to B on Xbox it made me lose progress grrrr I'm switching emus
Works like a charm and has practical features that I use quite frequently, like 2x speed or save state (with quick save/load). The ads only show up when you save state, which I think is pretty cool, but I would still like it if I could pay a little to not have them at all. Also would like to add that it's not smart to lower your rating of this app just because the developer removed the option to download roms inside the app, they obviously did that to avoid getting in trouble.
It works really well and is not buggy. It gets 2 stars because it's crawling with ads. Open the app? Ad. Search for a new game? Ad. Open the settings menu? Believe it or not, ad. Playing with WiFi and data switched off is essential. You can't use flight mode, because the app will disable some features. Even worse than that though, is what happens when you close the app. It will reopen itself to beg for a rating or to be shared. When I say I want the app to close, I mean I want the app to close.
Emulator is nice, I can download ROMs straight from the app without having to go to an external source. The selection of games you can pick from is ginormous, and if you don't want to download a game, there's an option to hide not downloaded games, which is really sick. I personally had one issue with the emulator, and that's when you're trying to run any Game from the NES Classics series. You can barely move and/or it crashes often. As long as you stay away from games from there, you're okay.
Best one I found yet, and I've tried a lot of gba emulators. This one is very easy to use, it's got a speed toggle always on sight, layout can be easily changed and the buttons at big and easy to use. It even showd a list of games you can download which will save you a lot time. (relax if this list doesn't show up right away, it will after you use the app for a while)
Really love "GBA Emulator" but after I upgraded to Android 10 it has stopped working. I got an error saying something about being unable to write to disk, so I tried switching the save directory. No luck. I tried changing the game directory but it looks like the directory read function doesn't work, but I was able to change it to default. Now I can't see any of the games I have downloaded. I get that Android 10 is still in development, but any update from your side would be great!
Between the audio glitches and unresponsive virtual pad, I can't say that this is a working emulator. The ads are annoying, but not game breakers. Even though you have to plow through two of them every time you open the settings menu. And you WILL want to. Constantly. But playing Metroid Fusion was a hell up to the first boss and then became impossible. Hoping the pad responds and making sure I don't hit, god forbid, two buttons at the same time isn't exactly what I have time for. Zero stars.
I love this emulator, it does a lot that others don't for free. It searches your files for the ROMs for you, can go up to x16 speed, has many save states, and a quick save and quick load. The ads are fine as far as I'm concerned, but if you guys ever make a one time payment to get rid of them completely, that'd make this even more of a perfect emulator than it already is.
This is the best GBA emulator for android you can get (it also works really well for chromebooks as well). To start, the emulation in near perfect, if you are playing your games on here, your playing them the way they were meant to be played. In addition, it has keyboard & controller support as well as a virtual controller! To top it all off it has a modern UI that anyone can understand. My only complaint is that there are far too many ads, but they dont interupt gameplay, so you should be fine!
It's great! I just have one problem (I'm not sure if it's just the ROM I was using or the app). While playing The Minish Cap, I was finding my way to the roof of Hyrule Castle. When I exited to the outside on the second floor, the game restarted to the title screen. I can't seem to prevent it, and that renders me unable to further progress. I am unable to get to the roof and stop Vaati. I am unable to save Zelda.
Good emulator. Would have given five stars if not for two issues. The controls in the UI are not very good for games needing precision work, but it does the job. The breaking point for me was when it stopped being able to find my saves and ROMs. I suspect the recent Android update has something to do with this because it's been broken for me since then.
Works great and you can download any game you could think of just from inside the app. The ads are the same as to any other app you can get, but they dont play mid-game which I came across on a different one. Its fast and can play any game. Easy to save, and you wont lose your save file for no reason like in other ones. To be able to push multiple buttons at once, you may want to go into layout and spread them out a little bit. Check out all the settings and have it the way you like!
This is a very good emulator. My only problems are that I don't like the fact that you have to save it in the emulator rather than in the game. . If you try to save it as the game would tell you to save it. It won't save. The other problem on the ads. Most of the ads are really good and really fast but occasionally some come up that want 30 seconds or more. I would almost prefer an inexpensive paid version to avoid this. Those are the only reason for four stars.
This emulator is solid. Only complaints are that the 'A' and 'B' buttons are on top of each other instead of angled and that I haven't found a way to pay for it and lose the ads (which are completely unintrusive and only appear between menus, not during gameplay). Automatically detects your ROM library and has various speeds of play. More than basic, but not crazy. Very good.
I tried, for around an hour, to get this to work. I couldn't. I use a Pixel 3, so maybe it's specific to my device, but it was extremely frustrating that no matter where I downloaded the GBA file it wasn't recognized. Especially with ads popping up between every button click. It would also help if the instructions in app were more in depth, since it sends you a page with vague instructions and a link that basically sends you to Google. Giving it 3 stars since it seems to work for most phones.
Probably the best free emulator I have ever used. The UI is intuitive so no need to click through a menu 3-5x just to save and load (one of my biggest gripes with most emulators on the market). There are ads, but I have yet to see one that wasn't immediately closable. I would pay for an ad-free version since it's that good.
Great app. It works fantastically. I will gladly change my one-star review to a five star one if the developers fix one major problem: sometimes, when I boot up the app, an ad appears that doesn't fit my phone's screen properly (galaxy S8). I can't reach the "x" for the ad, which means I can't close it out, which means I have to keep closing and re-opening the app until a new ad appears. I'm completely fine with ads. You gotta make money. Please resolve this issue, and I will rate 5/5. Thanks <3
Works perfectly, no issues with saving, no issues with lagging, sometimes there are adds but they're not obtrusive and are easy to exit out of. The screen may appear black at times but only due to an add that didn't load, in which case there is still the X at the top left of the screen which will let you exit out of the unloaded add and continue your game with no issues.
It works and I haven't had my issues yet. It does have ads whenever you wanna navigate menu of the emulator like to change games or to change emulator settings. But if you're just playing, then there aren't any ads. Soo like if you're just starting and you wanna tinker around with the emulator's settings a bunch, you'll have an ad everytime you open up settings. And to clarify, this is the settings on the emulator, not the emulated game. You can adjust game settings ad-free.
This emulator is fantastic, just simply download the game online and it immediately finds the root directory for the game. The games play fantastically but sometimes there's a bit of slowdown, but that just may be because of the game or my phone. idk. Anyways savestates, it's free, lots of customization, easy to play anytime, and overall a really polished emulator.
Very cool emulator. I don't like the ads but they can be skipped and plus it's a free emulator, so not much to complain about. It has many cool customizable features and you can make the emulator play the way you want it to. For example you can smooth the graphics. Another is you can take off or reduce the vibration when you press a button. I noticed the game runs smoother when you do that. Over all very happy with the work you guys put into making this emulator. Thank you very much.
