I am always looking for the best product for the least amount of money. Yes, I am very frugal. So, I was looking for cameras that would show very clear, color videos, have motion detection, have two-way audio and that would have free app service. If you are looking for all of which I just stated, then look no further. I absolutely love the quality of the camera's HD picture and audio. They are super easy to set up. I purchased four cameras initially and I am about to purchase 3 more today.

I mean, its alright. My issue with it is... I use the app to operate my smart lightbulb I have here in my bedroom and unfortunately, there's only one quick access function and that's to simply power on and off. Thete's no option to add another function, for example... The one other function I use just as much is to toggle between white light and color right. If they added the option to add more features to the widget, it would get 5 stars for sure.

The Geeni devices I have are reasonably good quality and reliable, and the app was as good as any of the other hub-less smart device apps. Unfortunately, the latest updates have made the widget useless on my phone. Every time a device icon is tapped the icons rearrange, and you have to hunt them down again to make it actually do anything. I opened a ticket but have been ignored.

Works most of the time for my smart lighting and plugs though occasionally 1 random bulb out of 10 will lose connection and have to be reinstalled. Tap to run needs a lot of work, can't find any way to remove a device from a tap to run so have to remake complicated sequences or give redundant commands also the greeting bar pops up slower than the tap to run shortcuts moving the shortcuts down an inch every...single...time so that you hit the bar and open the map. Move this under shortcuts pls?

Usually this app is great. Easy, straight forward, simple. But lately it just won't connect to the one camera we use. All the bulbs and switches work but it won't connect to the camera unless I use the button to see all the cameras which is currently just the one. Edited this from 3 to 5 stars since the issue has been fixed.

App is always slow, motion detection seems to come on randomly, trying to playback not only takes half the day to skip forward but not being able to control playback with no controls swipe it and hope you get close to the time frame your are trying to look at is worse than trying to exit a ad with the X small as a grain of sand in the unreachable corner... Any why can't I mirror it or get the app for my smart tv?

The app is hugely disappointing now. Whatever update they did made the app useless. It doesn't work, it doesn't load on my phone anymore, when full screen is selected we cannot see the time or the scale. And one of the identical cameras all of a sudden doesn't have certain features and has different software then the other same cameras, doesn't work. They need to fix the bugs and make it work again. I do not recommend this company's products if they cannot fix these problems. Horrible.

We have 4 camera's. They used to work fabulously. Over the last 2 weeks or so they no longer load. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, connected and disconnected with no results. We can only get the camera up if we restart our phone and then it only works for 5 minutes tops before it freezes again. Extremely frustrated as we use this when our babies nap to check on them and know when they awake. Extremely disappointed. Would love to return them and get something more reliable.

For 2 years things have been running pretty smooth. Only a few hiccups. Since the last update it seems you broke the app on android. Not sure what you did but since the only way to access these cams is through your app they have been rendered worthless. I'll keep them on for another week because lm still able to see notifications. If after a week I'm going to move on from Geeni and Mercury. It seems you have had plenty of time to fix the problem and yet nothing.

Unhappy with this Android app. More often than not, I have to uninstall and reinstall it in order to see the live video feed. 99% of the time it does not go past constructing encrypted channel. Closing and reopening the app does not resolve, restarting my phone does not resolve, and reinstalling constantly is not a satisfactory resolution. Please fix! 😔 Update: Geeni provided an update which resolved the issue I was having with both cameras. Much appreciated! I hope they continue to work.

Used to be really good, now I can't go directly to a camera and establish a connection unless I uninstall and reinstall. Only then can I connect to a camera and only once. After I exit and try to connect again it's just an annoying little spinning wheel. I can go to "quick view" but I can't see playback or anything without trashing the app reloading and then it'll open. It was fine until the last update.

Used to work great until about 2 weeks ago. I can no longer go to a single camera and view or playback. I have the most recent update and still no connection. My personal phone is android as is my wife's. Doesnt work on either. Interestingly enough though, it works on my work iPhone. Still this needs fixed. I have 10 cameras in my home that have been rendered useless. Kind regards.

I have used this app for a few years now and it's become obvious that the most recent update messed up the cameras to where people cannot view them anymore. I too was having issues with that until I recently found a trick to get it to work everytime. The upper right hand corner has a multi view option and it will load them right away and you can click into each camera individually after that to get a better view. Hopefully they can fix this issue though. Still a nice app

I loved this at first, but whatever happened with the most recent update, the app now doesn't work. It flashes repeatedly on the screen when i try to access the video feed. I can look at the screenshots just fine, but if I'm trying to check the video feed in real time, the screen simply flashes. I bought this camera because my kids often end up home about 45 minutes before I do and this gives me peace of mind on those days to be able to check in on them visually in that time frame.

Video feed freezes most of the time and shows only a few seconds then freezes with 15 to 40 second delay .. before it starts again ... I assume it's because of really cheap software (yes - I routinely clear the cashe and the software is up to date) I have an excellent 90 +% connection -- so its not the connection. Camera works well in Canada at 35 Below Zero. I have no experience with other brands -- so I don't know if the Geeni's Poor video feed performance is typical of these type of cameras. It works well enough for me (for now) .. But, I would NEVER --- buy another one! Totally useless if you hear a noise and want to check it out! Whatever made the noise will be long gone by the time the camera unfreezes. But, okay to routinely check the yard (as long you can tolerate the freeze and wait). Definitely useless as a security camera!

I'm tired of it turning on my light randomly without being scheduled... then becoming unresponsive so it forces me up to turn off. Very annoying, do not recommend. Edit developer suggested something not applicable: I don't touch the switch, i never mentioned the switch. I tell google to turn off the light, every night. Its off when i fall asleep. Sometimes, not always, it will turn itself on, with nothing scheduled. Sometimes it has stopped responding and i need to manually reset. ANNOYING.

Unreliable, has a hard time establishing connection most of the time and when it does the feed will freeze after a short while and then I have to start the process all over again. Doesn't matter if on the same WiFi or accessing remotely and the cameras both report 90 percent or better reception. Not sure if it is a camera design issue or app issue but they are barely useable and frustrating. A browser option would be nice.

12/27/19 Need the ability to choose light colors in custom scenes. Update: 3/27/22 Been using this for 2 years. I love it and never have any issues. I appreciated that they have added color to custom scenes. The issue is it only uses the color you choose for the light. An update to allow custom colors for scenes would be better.

There was an update in March of 2022 that messed up the viewing of cameras on Android devices. You could view the multiple camera view but not individual cameras (which also meant you couldn't review footage). I was super frustrated when it wasn't fixed right away, but I contacted the company and they did fix the issue, even sending me a link to the beta version of the update with request for my experience with the update. Very happy to have my cameras back.

Update, Geeni responded which I think is very upstanding, the app is still clunky, and i did have to remove and add every bulb and plug in my house, but Geeni products are amazing once you figure out the little quirks. Simultaneously amazing and the worst app ever. I love the connectivity geeni and Alexa give, but this app can be so clunky and difficult to deal with. I have recently had a network name/ password change. I'm sure there is an easy way to do this, but I can't figure out how.

Last 2 months give or take the app has continued to have issues. I have deleted devices ,deleted apps , updated App. I have done multiple times and it continues to not record motion on one maybe 2 of my 4 cameras. I havent even bothered to put two back up because why bother ? Good price for a short time use camera. Image also seems to be getting more grainy as well.

Not enough functionality, All the scenes are pretty bad They just flash and they don't dim and change color gradually like they should making them useless, also personally it's a hassle to have to use an app to control the light I would like the choice of using the app and a remote, I'd like to suggest a feature where you can raise your phone to the light bulb in order to turn it on and off

Never had an issues with my camera going offline, but playback is a little iffy sometimes. Wish we could select/type a specific time to start from instead of dragging the bottom. Also love how you guys are creating a web interface to view the cameras(waiting for support to update firmware on 3 of my other devices so I can view on the web interface). I'm really loving that idea. Hope to see you guys grow more.

I really really like this app. Makes my life easier and also gives me peace of mind. Would love to give it 5 stars but the app is slow sometimes and also when I am away from home the Lights are always somehow unavailable to turn off and on and the 2 way speaking through my camera doesn't work that well either unless I am home. However the cloud service is cheap and the app easy to use and installation is easy as well.

🤬😡They say that all that you have to do is reinstall the app but they fail to mention that in doing so, you have to go and reconnect all of your devices!This company needs to learn how to make a product that can be used with all internet instead of a certain type. I am getting sick and tired of switching between my jetpack and my internet simply because the smart plugs that I purchased before spectrum doesn't work with geeni. Really stupid!!!
