The Geneva Bible 1599 is a nice app. It lets you choose by chapter and verse or use the search function. it also allows you to highlight passages with different colors so you could categorise by color. I think it is very useful.
For just the scripture itself (no Geneva notes), which is what I care about, this app is great. Yes, you do have to get used to the older English word spellings, but hey, that's just part of the Geneva Bible experience. A plus is that for a modest fee, you can get rid of adds.
It is facinating to see and read the texts that as written and used by our forefathers. I have the Bible in printed form, that the first Americans were suppose to have brought a copt with them. It has references in the margins. I wish the digital version also had this.
The translation is good except for the misspelled words, in most words 'u' is replaced with 'v' for example: 'evening' would be spelt "euening" and 'upon' would be spelt "vpon". It takes a bit to get used to but other than that the app is great
This has been a much easier read than I expected. I am readng the new testament Has some scripture that is not in the King James version but not a lot so far that I have found. Granted I am only to Luke chapter 5.
I could give you 5 stars had it not been many spelling errors in this version. Someone has to proof read it. It is also important that one be able to highlight few words instead of the whole verse.
Easy,, not cluttered GUI. I like the old English grammar, it brings the deeper thoughts of the writers. This version brings more depth than the KJVB.
Easier to read at night without the ads. Is the original not the revised which allows you to feel like you were back during the time of the Pilgrims.
Excellent app that I use on the go when carrying my large Geneva hardcopy isn't practical. Now I can have the Word anywhere anytime on my phone so I can look something up or just get a quick uplifting verse.
Great easy to use app. Very cool to see old spellings and different word choices from the Bible of the Pilgrims, even before the King James came on the scene.
Really wish it had the written side teaching notes, so famous of the Geneva. If you want to go to the next chapter, you have to exit the book, go to the 66 book list, pick out the same book, then chapter and then verse (ie needs a forward button)
there are verses that have changed over the years in many translations. I often refer to the Geneva Bible when proper translation is questioned.
So far, it's good to read. However, I noticed that Malachi 2 only have 17 verses but the 1611 KJV have 18. Overall, good app.
I usually fine it hard to read the King James version, but some how it's not so with this Bible, I can't put it down, loveeee it. Thanks!!!
Very accessible and easy to use. Great app for the historically minded Bible reader
Perfect! This is the prime version, which must be used in all the TRUE and CHRIST established churches world aide. Thanks you.
I am really enjoying and pleased with this app, thank you for giv8ng the option to buy, ads to do not belong with Abbas word
I like it because is less tampered than other versions Also love the apocrypha I do recommend to serious believers:)
good app only issue is the ads.. not that is has them is when I am reading in night mode the ads are bright white and ruin the flow
I love it I also observed the spelling back in those days took me a second to pronounce the words but I did and I love it.
Beautiful. Just wish it was more modern words. Overall still understandable.
It's a reallyy nice app but missing most of 2 John, 3 John, and Jude. What's up with that??
Detailed, original text, vital to knowing true words and not tainted with what they want you to read
great blessing and the writing, back then more accurate, than the modern versions.
Terrible App. 2John has only 1 verse. 3John has only 1 verse. Jude is blank. And I've seen these right after download, didn't bother checking the rest of the app out. This is garbage. Actually, it deserves zero stars.
Interesting app, interesting translation. You should check it out!
Enjoying reading this version is close to the KJV few letters in words change but you can still understand it
The best Geneva app I have found....only improvement is to get around faster to chapters and books.
thank you for the app. nice to be able to have a study Bible. It helps give another perspective.
The Geneva bible is a trusted translation unlike all modern versions. The app itself functions fine, but the spelling has not been updated, which makes for unnecessary reading challenges. Old spelling in old books or facsimiles is fine as it is appropriate in those media, but not for digital media. It would also be good if the original Geneva notes were available in the app.
