This is now an obituary page. For ten years I have used your fantastic alarm. My phone was force updated to Android 10 and sadly this alarm no longer works. I don't expect it to ever work again. Gosh, so many memories with this alarm. I've set it so many places, so many trips and adventures, so many amazing dinner timers. It wasn't always positive- it's woken me up "too soon" after so many nights where I stayed out too long and partied too hard. I hated it briefly those days. Thank you
I LOVE this app! I used it for many years. It was one of the first apps I'd load when I got a new phone. I loved that I could make the clock digits as big as the screen as I wear glasses. I also loved that the fade-in alarm was so gentle but with an emergency alarm backup for those days you didn't want to risk sleeping in. I'd like to get the apk, but not sure how and I'll try AMDroid as suggested by someone here. I hope the developer gets back on his feet.
As reported by others, under android 10, the alarm will no longer go off reliably when the screen is locked. So sad to see a nice app die. Based on somebody else's suggestion, tried AMdroid as a replacement. It works very well and in many ways is nicer than gentle alarm. I do miss the wind chimes though...
The main app doesn't appear to be able to use notifications correctly when an alarm goes off in android 10. Alarms work if you leave your phone on the app all night and do not let your phone lock. However if you let the screen lock the alarms do not go off. Looks like I need to find a new app since the gentle alarm app is no longer in the store.
Love the app. Any recommendations for the replacement? Some functions are fantastic and handy, but not to be found anywhere else! Take functionality like fade in, change alarm time +/- some minutes, set alarm in certain time like in 8 hrs - those are truly great features!
After upgrading to Android 10, gentle alarm disappeared from my phone and can't find it in the app store - only have the widget, and that wont work without the app. Can you fix this? Running Android 10 on a pixel 3. Have been using this app for years and loved it while it worked.
App and widget seems to be abandoned. As the app and widget have not been updated in years. If/when you update to Android 10 the app will no longer be able to start an alarm from the lock screen. This app and Gentle Alarm were great years ago, but I would now look elsewhere.
Please update for Android 10. I have used this app for years and depend on it and I would love to have it back since I got updated to Android Q on my Pixel 3 XL. Yes I know this is for the widget but Gentle Alarm doesn't even show up in the play Store for me since it's not compatible anymore.
I've used your alarm for 5 years. It is my most widely used app by far. I love it, I LIVE by it as someone with a sleep disorder, I need structure in my life and having this alarm beautifully accomplishs that. There is not another product on the market that is like your app, I would even purchase it directly from your website to support you. I'd gladly do it twice. Id gladly pay more than you're asking. But not supporting Android 10 is just wrong. It's a shame, honestly.
I loved this app and have been using the purchased version for years, then it stopped working so I uninstalled it so I could reinstall it. When I bought went to the play store to find it again, IT WASN'T THERE AND I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE. IM SUPER UPSET THAT THE ALARM CLOCK THAT I'VE BEEN USING FOR YEARS IS GONE AFTER I PAID FOR IT AND WAS RELYING ON IT. WHAT HAPPENED????
R.I.P. Gentle Alarm. You were the best, most customizable and feature-full alarm. I miss you every morning, buddy. It's been a long ride since your first install back in Android 1.6, and although you've moved on, I'm hung up on all the functionality I'm missing since you left. It may be time to build an Android-based alarm clock from an old phone, to live permanently by my bed and remind me of the good times we had over the years.
After upgrading to Android 10 it seems this app no longer works. It functions but has stopped actually waking up with sound. It's a wonderful app I've used for years so I'm looking for a similar app now.
Has been flawless and perfect.... Until 9.0! Love this app, best by far. Suddenly having issues with pie 9.0 though (and with Gentle Alarm.... Which has disappeared from the ap store!... and the widget) - whereas previously never had a single issue!
I had used the Gentle Alarm app for years. It was a great app, but it's no longer supported since I got Android 10. I can only download the widget, very disappointing. Please bring it back for the newer Android OS
The app was last updated 7 years ago, it was a really good app, but in Android Pie it needed battery optimization disabled to work, and in Android Q it doesn't work at all. A real shame it's not been updated.
The fact that this app doesn't work on my new S20+ has tarnished the upgrade for me! Have been waking up with this app for as long as I have been using Android phones. Feels like I've lost a trusted friend! The app used to wake me easily and not my wife, so I think she'll be devastated too! Be well dude
Been amazing for many years but stopped working when my note 9 updated and I am so disappointed. This has been the best alarm app I've ever had, bought the premium version too. Thank you for keeping me on time for so long x x
App stopped working for me when I updated to android 10. Only seems to work when the screen is on and awake which completely defeats the purpose of an alarm clock to wake up.
Was a GREAT app until my latest phone (Galaxy S10). Now the Gentle Alarm and widget both do not work. Gentle Alarm is not on Google, even though I did buy it. Email to developer are not answered. I'd love to have it fixed but that doesn't look to be the future. Too bad. Now trying to find another app to do the same thing.
I barely remember what waking up without this app was like. It's been a decade of smooth mornings to pachabell Canon, how can anyone awake differently? I'd gladly pay 50 times more just to have this back. Please, please fix the app for Android 10. If I could go back to old android I would just to make sure this app would work but my phone updated automatically. No RIP. Come back!!
I bought this app years ago, loved it always used it then all of a sudden after a phone died I could no longer find the app. I emailed... No responce . So after buying it I can no longer get it and get no help about the product. Not happy after years of supporting the app only to have it taken away.
Still my favorite alarm app. It had stopped working after a T-Mobile security patch, but once I turned off the battery saver settings this app among many others started functioning the way that it was supposed to go again. For a few weeks I was not getting any notifications from a lot of my apps and I lost a lot of functionality, but once I turn that off it is back to normal.
