GeoBee Challenge
The Android team at National Geographic Society is proud to announce the all-new GeoBee Challenge app for Android!
We have re-built the app from the ground up, improved the map & photos and fixed some pesky bugs. We are so excited to share it with the amazing GeoBee community.
This is a challenging game, so it's not for beginners...but do keep in mind that the National Geographic GeoBee is meant for kids in grades 4-8. Are you smarter than a 4th grader?
Three types of game play make sure you really know your stuff and never get bored.
In the multiple-choice round, answers come from a library of more than 1300 National Geographic GeoBee questions. In the map challenge round, you zoom, pinch and tap your way to find spots on an interactive map from a catalog of 1000+ locations. For an added challenge, bonus rounds include compelling National Geographic photographs where you have to locate what's in the photo on the interactive map...only we don't tell you where the photo was taken or what is in the picture!
The faster you answer, the more points you get! You have to keep up the pace to move on to the next round.

Very, very American focused. References to things like transcontinental railroad without referencing continent or country. Seems like one question every round is about New York. And about a third are about US states.
Great app but most questions about the US are too specific while the questions about the rest of the world are more general, you can see it was designed for Americans...
Touch is either too sensitive or mot sensitive enough. Questions very repetitive. Doesn't give you correct answer during map portion of the game
I love the idea but it's glitchy. You end up having to tap multiple times because it doesn't always register.
Some of the pictures have no unique visual identifiers, like you're supposed to find a rock outcropping over water on the world map with no other clues.
Give this game 5 stars. World geography is my lowest grade and I need to play this game often because it give me more memorization and make my brain sharp.

Quite like this for the range of games. Have come across an error- the sea between Australia and New Zealand is the Tasman Sea, not the Tasmanian Sea. Please fix!
This app is so great I do geography club and used to be the worst student my teacher recommended it and now I answering questions a grade above my level!
Plenty of questions for all the freedom fighters. Gameplay isnt that exciting and points system is a bit rubbish
It's more like a United States quiz. Most of the question in the first round are about US States.
I rated 4 stars because i have almost byhearted the first level questions and there are no more.
You cant expand the map .. so your constantly way off with your finger .
Like 90% US based questions. Just call it US geobee. So annoying to international people.
it is cool be mostly asks only about U.S. We can enjoy it if it asks questions about every country
after round 5/15 it restarts me at round 1/15 fix this plz. still great though.
Unless you have knowledge of mostly American topics, you don't get far.
I think this will help me in the geographic bee,and when I win,I will be able to donate the money to th poor. So thank you for making this app.
I ended up getting 2nd place in the Geography Bee for my school! I think this really helped me.
Good if you want something to test your knowledge. Not fun and doesn't give you any info. For Nat Geo it is kind of lacking.
If someone has an incredible thirst for knowledge then that person should definitely try this app my recommendation

A really great way to pass the time even if YOU'RE just waiting for the train or bus ,on your own or with company, also great for breaking the ice In them awkward silent times, you know, like "what shall I say so you don't say anything out of place while trying to get to know someone you are just to shy to make a conversation .

I really like this game. I only wish that after you answer something incorrectly you were able to clearly see the map and/or picture of the correct answer so you could more easily learn. Otherwise I think this is a fabulous way to brush up on geography!
