This is a really fun way to hang out with your friends and you get to see the nature way better this way. One problem I've been seeing is that the GPS connection sometimes is super bad. The checkpoint moves and when i turn left the phone turns right. Thats the only bad thing abouy this app. I really love this app and if the GPS signal was great this review would have been a 5 star
So I absolutely love geocaching and thanks to the app it's easier. Now I am not giving full stars ✨️ because I have been having loads of issues with loading photos to my recent finds of Virtual geocaches. This made it such that I constantluly lost Finds several times and some COs are just not too understanding. Other on the other hand were kind and patient enough to let me sort it out - managed to upoad the photos on website but that's not handy when out and about! Can you please fix this.
Absolutely amazing! No ads, super easy to use, and really fun! If ur bored, and have a car it is absolutely awesome. Just wish you could hide a geocache after finding like five or more. 20/50 is too much
If you're a Geocacher, this is a great app. I pay for a premium account every year and I can see all the available caches worldwide. The online site is much more comprehensive. But this gets your drafts on a list so you can tweak everything online later. But this app gets the job done.
Great app, great platform. However, I feel the android app is lacking landscape mode. the function would be most helpful for tablet users operating with stands that only function in landscape. Thanks!
Very fun app and game. Love the experience despite some of the recent influx of TikTokers not understanding and taking or moving caches. (Seriously guys, sign the log book, log the find, trade something if you want, and then hide it back where it was).
5 stars! There are no issues with most of the app. The issue arises when placing/hiding a new cache. There is nothing easy about it. Old days we would hide and go. Now, you have to read a bloody tutorial in the website, not the app and manually record coordinates. To do this efficiently, really should have a second GPS on hand between. This makes hiding a hassle.
It's fun but navigation is very difficult, the compass swings 90 to 180° in either direction most times I use it. Multiple restarts of app and phone fail to correct it. Just have to hope it works when you wanna use it, which is not often it does work.
The map arrow only navigates one direction! You turn that direction and it flips!! It's extremely impossible to find anything like this!! I paid money for the extra map, If this isn't fixed I will never use this app again.
Its alright . I hate that you have to pay to be able to find bigger caches with tradeables inside , especially now that the subscription fees are super high. A good idea would be to unlock different caches when you level up ( eg. You have leveled up , you can now acces regular caches ect.)
My biggest complaint is the map. I have to tap and back out, then tap on navigate again .. otherwise the map thinks I'm like 8000 miles away, when I'm just a few feet from hq. Otherwise a good app, the map could use some help though.
c:geo has the exact same features without the paywall. I understand that the developers need to make money, but I think that a one time purchase would be much better. You can only find less than half of the caches in an area without the premium version.
This is healthy, fun and educational. A great app to engage in community, urban exploration, hiking and backpacking while solving mysteries and locating coordinates. You may even find some great "treasures", and exchange your own "treasures".
This would be 5 stars but it limits quite a bit of features behind a paywall but on the web version, most of the features are unrestriced. Other than that, it is a amazing hobby and is very fun and there is quite a few catches in my small town.
I use to love this game but we had cleared out the geos in our area so I thought I'd give it a few years for them to build up again but it looks like we'll over 50% of them you need to premium to find. Yeah, I'm not gunna bother. Don't mind paying money for extras when I enjoy the game but don't want to feel forced into it. Think I'm gunna go back onto munzee
The app does the job and is functional for all things geocaching. Love that it's linked with GPS driving capabilities. I've used it for over a decade, no complaints.
Great app and great activity. I love geocaching. Sometimes I have to sign out for it to update my finds but otherwise good. I only wish I xould sync it up to my watch so I don't have to be constantly staring at my phone!
This is such an amazing app! Super user friendly, super fun, and it's a great way to go on an adventure!! U recommend this app to everyone! The only thing is that geocaching itself has a steep learning curve, but it's not too hard to get the hang of
Won't let me create an account even after trying different emails. One email it said I already have an account, which I don't. And when I tried to do password recovery it said email does not exist in any known accounts. Could be a good app but I didn't even get the chance to find out
It's just sad how they've managed to turn a once great past time into a money machine. You get minimal caches unless you pay. I remember back in the day taking the kids out for an adventure to find caches. Now not so much as you get minimum unless you pay.
Very fun! Works nice, easy layout. Found a few nearby with my friends. I can't blame the app for any bad hints or experiences because that's more so the people's or my own fault.
LOVE THIS APP!!!! It's super fun to do and pretty challenging! If you love treasure hunts and exploring, this app is for you! Although, to find all of them, you have to get a membership to the app. But I definitely recommend it! :)👍
Does the job, but with limited functionality compared to the website. It also uses a lot of battery, more than other map-based apps like Google maps.
The app is pretty great for geocaching. HOWEVER, it is extremely frustrating when going through all the work necessary to hide an awesome cache, only to find out by a reviewer that there already is a cache in the area that is more than often a non-typical cache, aka mystery, Wherigo, etc. In the cache creation page, there's even a map with red circles that shows you nearby caches so you don't intrude on their territory. But this only applies to standard caches. It's a very frustrating issue.
