The app would be really useful if the dictionary function was working. Currently, it just shows "network detection error". The update of the app says that they fixed the issue. But apparently, the issue still persists. I downloaded the latest version on Sep 5 but that version is also not working in terms of dictionary.

Really love the fact that every story includes a glossary, and that any word in the article can be clicked for a translation. Doubling the reading with a voice also helps to get familiar with the sounds of the language, while also building your vocabulary. Super great way to learn!

Very useful! B2 level, you can hear(at 90% speed) and read news articles at the same time, plus the option to select a single word from the text and see the translation. Room for improvement: Add more everyday and slang communication, it doesnt have to be news only.

The dictionary is not working. Network connection error despite having a full network working for other apps. Search feature is also required. As well as some sort of grammatical clarification especially for difficult German separable verbs and cases. Otherwise it'd be a great app.

I find this application very useful and handy and I am quite satisfied with it. There is only one problem in my opinion which can be modified in the next version. There could be a search engine which make it possible to sear h by some keywords and this make it easier to find the topic we are looking for. Having this feature in the future, I would definitely recommend this app to my friends.

Great idea. It 's almost the best way to learn new vocab and read articles where the text is clickable and can be translated. They regulary add new articles. Unfortunately there is an annoying bug that they don't seem to solve since more than 1 year which is the network issue message when translating.

I truly think it's a wonderful and extremely useful app for those who want to improve their German skills and to discover captivating news at the same time . The fact that each word's definition is accessible just by pressing onto the unknown word is a real time-saver. I highly recommend it! 👍

Hi! The app is amazing, this is what i was searching for! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I was never able to use the "create flashcard" option. It wrote "network connection error" underneath even though I had no problem with network connection ( I checked it on google chrome and many other apps, that should be used while online). Could you please elaborate on that?

It's really good but the dictionary click translations are no longer working. Just says network connection error. This function was very helpful. I hope it can be fixed asap. I'll reinstall the app if it gets an update with fixes. (Huawei y6)

The app is awesome. Interesting topics, various categories, top notch narration, regular update of new articles, interesting UI features. PS: Recently the dictionary isn't working. Please help me resolve the issue.

i just discovered this app, and it seems like it would be a great tool for me. But the dictionary, as MANY other reviewers have pointed out, only gives a network error. Reviews saying this go back months, which means that developers aren't paying attention. Currently not deserving the high rating that it has, not until it's fixed.

Great idea and very helpful for listening short themes in German. However, the translation feature doesn't work and when I click on a word it says 'Network Error' despite good connection. So for a beginner it is too limited if you can get the words translated easily.

The "network error" that seem to be untackled for quite a long time spoils the ease of using the app. I recall using the app more often when it was running smooth & didn't had to use another external app for dictionary, which is simply tedious.

Very good app actually and very helpful. But there are things that are simple and will improve the experience that i like to be added 1. The exercise after each article which is already present on the dw site 2. Adding the article of nouns and conjugations of verbs in the dictionery

If you want to improve your vocabulary to help with more complex tv, videos, newspapers, this app has the big advantage that you can click on a word in the transcript and the automatic dictionary is activated. Saves so much time

this app is very comfortable. But after the new update, it doesn't show words. When I try to search for words, it says network connection error and shows nothing although the internet connection is well.

Just for an extra experience why I downloaded the app. Probly I'm not enough good for germany/österreich. However quite interesting after all I just typed down searching this- österreich radio and the play store dropped it down. U can search backwards so not just this years news. U could be download it as well if u want.

One of the best apps out there to learn German effectively but i would like to point out a grave issue that, when the audio is paused and i touch a word for it's meaning, the audio starts playing again which is pretty irritating and annoying

Exactly what i was looking for! I love this app so much. Few comments of upgrades that I would love: pay for ad free, video in full screen, slow listening/video (x0.75), search by words. All are quite easy upgrades. Thank you!

Receives one star purely because the dictionary doesn't appear to work. I get a network connection error despite having no connection issues with other apps. Unfortunately there is no support available.

Great app but I give it only 4 stars because when you download a story you can't find it on your phone.Before you could, than you can hear it on your phone as an audio file. Can you fix this? Edit: 2 stars now because dictionary still doesn't work.

Really great app for learning! You get the reading and hearing components at the same time in a short but relevant article along with a mini glossary of important terms at the end.

Like this podcast a lot. Esp that they include the script. But I somehow can't make it so that it plays all of the episodes w/out stopping, even though I've opted for "auto-play".

This is a very good app, but dictionary should be optional, I hate when I touch a word accidentally, it keeps displaying a pop-up and beside this, I want to use my own dictionaries so please add a feature to disable the dictionary or disabling it to be optional

dictionary hasn't been working and the developers do not respond to the ticket issue. no way to disable tap to translate so it's difficult to use google translate too. it's better just to use the website because the only advantage of the app was tap to translate which doesn't work now

was a very good app, but for the last few months when you try and search English meaning it comes up with network error. I have tried updating multiple times and got a new phone recently and tried and still the same issue.
