I opened my Gesa account recently. Its been a couple weeks now, and I do use the app daily. I locked myself out from online banking and called customer service. It was fast and easy after I was verified who I was. Moving $ from my checking to savings is fast and easy as well as checking my balance is always available. I haven't had problems with this app and appreciate the help from customer service when I've needed it.

I absolutely dislike being asked every other time I log into my account to verify myself via text message. I thought it was just an internet browser issue so I downloaded the app but this annoyance persists. It has become so frequent that I'm actually considering switching banks after 20 years and no it doesn't matter which device I use, I'm so over this.

It is nice to have an app that never seems to fail, I have never not been able to sign in and do whatever business I was wanting to do. And all of the tellers that I have ever been to are knowledgable and friendly and personable every time! Even when a big goof up happened (not my fault) they totally fixed it right away, like it never happened!

Review III (3/26/2022) I am once again able to use the Gesa Digital Banking app after experiencing login errors & endless security loops since December 2020. So far, access to my account has been simple, smooth, and identical to the online login process. I was able to deposit a check upon 1st submission, too.

Still not good. Have to deposit my checks 3-5 times before it works. Buggy app, non intuitive. App is not an integrated experience, aways bringing up basically a browser inside for anything other than checking balance

Mobile check deposit isn't as "easy" and fast as other banks. Issues accessing our account through the app but for some reason accessing our account through the web works. The app just doesn't feel polished.

Not real thrilled that I am notified each time I sign in, that I have a new email. But when I click on it there is only the emails when I first started using this app. When I do something and it is not the way it is, said you are experiencing a lot of calls more than usual, please put off calling a couple of days. REALLY!!! If Inspirus and gesa merged why is everything going gesa way. And if there was a merger why would there not be the same number of employees as there were before. Not Happy!!

Since the mirger with the other credit union the app has been having issues. First it was the logging in issue now transfer failures that actually go through so you end up transferring more than you intended and use up your 6 internet transfers much faster.

Customer service has been impossible... If I tell them I don't recognize a purchase, please help! They just tell me to contact the merchant and deal with them directly. I say, I don't know the merchant, I don't know how to read this code, I don't know the company or what was bought because I never made this purchase, and they just repeat themselves, won't even help me find the seller! Absolutely useless, and so far they've made it impossible to cancel my account...

Seems to always be a problem with opening. Way too many times I have to use a code. Live the bank, HATE the website! Very hard to see what I want then go back to main page. This will be the reason I change banks.

I have been using the app for a bit and I haven't ran across any issues. Check deposit and send money options have worked fine and transferring money is very easy to do, not to mention you can access your account with your biometrics (if your phone has that option, like fingerprint, for example). It is certainly faster than going to a Gesa branch or logging into your account on the webpage. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone with a Gesa account!

All is pretty good, but I only wish that when depositing a check, the camera interface would be more like my phone's camera interface, where you tap the image to focus. And it would be great if the app could take advantage of auto focus and motion stabilization hardware in my phone.

I dint even have to go to the bank anymore. This saves the waiting in long lines. Plus pay all my bills while sitting around. Can pay them anywhere, this part works the best for me. I would of given a 5 star but there are a few things that I cant figure out on the app. It may be me, but user friendly is what it means. No guess work involved.

The deposit section of this app could use improving. How about letting the app take the photo automatically instead of having to touch the screen to take the photo? That way i can hold the check and not have to manipulate my phone and take the photo with one hand. The above paragraph was entered a year ago. Nope, no response or changes. The silly app didn't remember that I had already made a review so it asked me again, and I said sure. I down starred to 3 stars.

Check recognitiln is poor. This is one of three banking deposit tools I have used and it is the only one that repeatedly rejects check pictures. Same lighting, dark background as requested and camera held still. 10 key keypad layout is weird with decimal point off to the side. App also doesn't shut off when you exit. It stays on in the background sucking up resources and your battery. So far I'm not favorably impressed.

To use the app on my android phone I have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time. I also have to turn off wifi and use data. Only sometimes does it load and I am able to sign on, other times it gets stuck on the login page. When I do get logged on, I have to re-login everytime the page changes. They help desk said it was the phone is not up to date, but my phone is new and all systems have been updated.

I hope you dont want to deposit checks on the go, because their automated system couldn't tell the difference between a perfectly square and illuminated check. and the desk behind it. I've been able to successfully deposit 1 check after taking more than 30 pictures of it before it was accepted. But my next check has been continuously declined for ever changing reasons.

New app is too slow. While there are some new features that were needed, I want a mobile app that saves me time, not one that takes time away from me. I tried this while on internet connection (which loads every other app quickly), so it can't be blamed on a crappy connection. if someone can tell me how to speed up the app, I may reinstall...otherwise I'm going back to old school banking.

Yeah so it sounds like other people are having this issue. When I start the app, I just get some dialog box that says something about an error, I think... it gives a number you can call for assistance (which maybe I should try) but I think it's been this way for a while (at least a couple months, in my memory)... kind of weird to me that they haven't fixed this. I wish they would cause it's been a good utility for me in the past.

The app is ok. I registered for fingerprint recognition, but it never seems to work so I just log in. Just did my first mobile deposit and it was a pain. I followed directions and placed my check on a dark surface in a well lit place. It took half a dozen times before it finally accepted it. It was frustrating to say the least.

Won't run on my Android version. (Marshmallow - just gives a very unhelpful message saying, "An error has occurred.") The minumum required Android OS version should at least be given here. I can't run a newer version on my phone, but I'm certainly not going to drop hundreds of dollars on a new phone just so I can run this app. All my other banking apps run with no problems.

I would rate it lower if I could. This is actually infuriating. I guess a month ago they updated the app and now it doesn't work with my android. Everytime I try to log in it just kicks me back to the log in screen and says my session has expired. They have had plenty of time to fix this and it hasn't gotten any better. Pointless to even have the app.

I am asked to authenticate my phone way too often. And when I put in the code is brings up the login screen instead of the fingerprint screen, so I have to exit the app and restart it to log in more simply. Also, there's no place for feedback or help within the app, only a phone number to call. I hope someone actually reads these reviews and can make some changes.

So far for my banking use, this app has been very responsive and gives a bit more information that the inspirus app did. The merger seemed to move smoothly and I have not had any hickups that would warrant anything negative as of yet. Account transition and more intuitive UI give me everything I need, so far, at my finger tips. I am out of state and can't visit a home bank location so I do appreciate the usability and sleekness for my needs.

I don't use it very often... Just for the check deposit feature, and I love that. It's sometimes finicky, but been able to resolve all issues.
