No longer works. Long press to get altitude just results in a pop-up saying need data connection, even with strong connection. No updates since 2010. Devs have obviously abandoned this app.

Keeps telling me it requires a network connection and I do have both mobile and WIFI and it won't fetch the data! Useless!

Great app back when it used to work correctly, but it has failed.

This app was the best. Now, it no longer works or seems to be supported.

I wanted my present elevation for a multistage geocache. Got it. Only took me three secs to figure out the ui to get my present elev. I don't understand why that isn't part of the home screen but that us only a minor annoyance. Mildly ads with the chesty women are a big detractor (hence 4h stars)

George (posted review on 12.30.2010) Metric is "standard" for the rest of the globe and not so hard to figure out if you know how to use your brain. I'm stateside also, I know metric conversion as do many others. Maybe you should learn it as it is most helpful.

I'm a big Cb and ham radio guy and I use it time to time to find the best place to get out.. Also helps when looking around for my new home.. Kinda bad that I base my new house on how much elevation I can get caz I want to get out better on the radio and caz I hate water and don't want to be caught in a flood.. Lol.. Anyway, great application for whatever you use it for..

This app was really good at one time. Now it has no controls and it doesn't always work. Press on map to get the elevation and says needs to be connected to the internet even though I have it connected to WiFi. Will reinstall if it goes back to the way it was a few years ago for now uninstalled. Samsung galaxy s6.

Nexus 5 6.0.1. When I long press it tells me I don't have network access. Other apps working fine and have cleared cache/reinstalled. Time to give up with it. Shame as used to work well

Absolutely useless. The developers need a cold slap with a wet fish. The data is available from GPS by itself to calculate altitude. However for absolutely no good reason whatsoever, this app WILL NOT give you your GPS altitude if you don't have a data connection. What if you're in the "wilderness" and have a valid reason for needing an altitude (for example, as a rough calculation for head pressure for water). No such luck with this poorly thought through app, where the developers failed to actually think past their cosy little apartments. Pathetic.

Wonderful useful tool. Just don't expect perfect accuracy and you'll find a helpful info/ref-guide always with you. So quick and unobtrusive to use and no pestering ads. -thx, Ron.

Not accurate: visited Lemhi Pass on the Continental Divide where the official landmark read 7373 ft, yet this app showed around 4860 ft.

Seems fairly accurate as I have compared it with other altitude apps. The big plus with this app is there is no ads which I find distracting.

Waste of time. Besides its ugly and time wasting interface, it tells me I don't have internet connection after I long press on the map.

Cat. M. Sep 21, 2015

I use it frequently in Colorado because I get altitude sickness. I want to know when I might have a problem. It has always worked for me. Now it can not find an internet connection anymore, anywhere. Uninstall.

Great, but rapidly sliding down the scale because it was last updated over 5 years ago, which essentially means it's obsolete now. In turn, that means that it doesn't use the latest Android libraries and suffers as a result. It performs very badly unless the network signal is strong. I'd like to recommend it, but I can't now. It's past its sell-by.
